Kudos to you for respecting your Grandmother’s exquisite china and great Grandmother’s chairs. Many young people haven’t a clue regarding the value and quality in pieces like that. Your apartment is stunning and honestly, I’d move in in a second. You paid a small fortune for those nightstands but they will last a lifetime. I’m a great believer in buying fabulous fabrics (Fabric Gurus) to have my expensive chairs reupholstered. I also bought living room curtains for both the shower in the master bath as you did and guest bath tub 😄 nice to know I’m on the right track 💕🥰💕
Me too! 30 years ago we couldn’t afford anything so I went to the bare wood shop ( they sell unvarnished, or stained pieces of furniture ) and bought a queen headboard which had a slightly rounded curve at the top. I covered it in foam bought at Michael’s which I stapled down. Then I covered it in velvet to match the drapes and stretched it firmly which also got stapled down. Currently it’s covered in blue and white Toile to match the drapes and small pillows on the bed. Everyone who has ever seen our bedroom has always exclaimed how beautiful it looks. If your looking to do something with a bit of WOW, this is the most cost effective. I bought twin headboards from Wayfair and had my upholsterer cover them in a beautiful French cotton. I covered the bedside lampshade in the same fabric plus two boudoir pillows for each bed and it looks like a fancy hotel room! ( Total cost $450) for headboards, fabric and labor. 💕👏💕👏💕
