I had to smile when you said, "12 string plus fuzz, who knew?". I used a fuzz pedal with my Hagstrom 12 string back in 1967. It was just as much fun for me as you seem to be having!

@@georgefromgreece4119 Huh? Any bands who do this? I know a lot who do overdriven 12 but not fuzz. Im not trying to be an asshole, I legit want more bands to listen to.
@@psychedeliccarrie5921 yes, no offense from me either! I have heard it in sixties bands. The Byrds have repeatedly done it for instance. Jim McGuinns' 12 string was run into a fuzz since only fuzz style distortion pedals existed back then. I also think Donovan did it in some albums. Incredible String Band, Grateful Dead, Country Joe... And a lot of minor garage groups of course. British beat groups like the Yardbirds, the Kinks and the Beatles did it too. And Syd Barrett in his solo albums, post Floyd era. It is no surprise... Twelve strings were really popular back then and fuzz boxes the drive pedals that got invented and produced first. Remember... Tubescreamers, overdrives, distortions came a lot later, during the early seventies, as an attempt to emulate overdriven tube amps. During the sixties, you only had: fuzz boxes, (treble) boosters, extra preamp stages, and cranked tube amps to create electric guitar distortion (and combinations of the above). Cheers!!!

I have one of these and I couldn't agree more. The coolest sounds, easy to play, and top shelf fit and finish.
The neck and neck joint are able to handle the pull of 12 strings when left in standard E tuning (as opposed to having to tune down a 1/2 step or full step) ? Curious, as I'm not one to tune down as many 12 strings require.

Those lipsticks are amazing, i've got a 63 and a dano pro and they're superb, great for surf as well Ryan.

as an owner of a Dano '59-12, I was intrigued by how well this new Dano 12 sounds. Looks like I'll need to upgrade! BTW, for cool sounding loud electric 12-string playing, I'd suggest listening to Roy Wood on The Move's "Shazam" album, particularly the songs "Hello Suzy" and "Cherry Blossom Clinic" .

The bridge tone on this particular model sounds WAY better than the one in the other model. It has a chime to it. It’s actually pretty close to the Rickenbacker sound.

This Electric 12 String Guitar is easier to play than an Acoustic 12 String because the action is lower, the neck is smaller, and the strings are lighter gauge and are under lower tension.

Came here for the fuzzy 12 and stayed for the D&M from TPS in that back left.
Try reversing the courses like a Rick - I did that and can get darn close to the sounds of the Byrds, Beatles, etc.
Oh this might have to be my next guitar. Wish they made a 12 string Convertible.

The black one is best, looks just a *tiny* bit RIC-y. Trying to chose between this or the Artcore 12.
Danelectros are rarely lookers but they seem like good cheap reliable insteuments.

funny you dug the fuzz, back in the 90s... i had jammed with a few guys and the one dude played a fuzzed out dano 12 string tuned down to G it was incredible... and was that a monster magnet riff?
added a humbucker to the lips. Hass a switch for control on each !
Dude, 12 string + fuzz. You've discovered a new thing.... Dammit, you're saying the exact same thing as I just typed it! ...I guess it means it's probably true. It's an awesome wall of noise. Billy Corgan is watching, going, "No waaay! Siamese Dream could've been conjoined triplets, or quads..." (to push an analogy too far, lol!)

12 strings are fun as hell to play. I got a Cozart 12 strat for 139$ and love playing it. A DanElectro is next when I'm ready to sell the Cozart. They sound better with a compressor pedal. You get that chime ringing Byrd's and Beatles sound.
Just got mine yesterday. I LOVE it...except the front strap peg is at the base of the neck and the guitar doesn’t hang right. Anyone have this issue?

Nice pickup combination for sure. The guitar looks good to me. I just don't know why every guitar maker besides Rickenbacker goes with high strings on top. It's never "quite right" to me. I mean, let's see the most famous electric 12's in the world has low on top...let's do the opposite... I guess I can't call out Danelectro specifically for that since everyone does it, but you'd think someone would eventually get a clue and put them the "right" way around.

Much easier to play, yes! I love the Rick 12, but playing them both side by side, the Dano is so much easier to play

Sebastian Miller there are different colors of wood out there. Look at the ebony Taylor is using these days. Some of it is very light.
60 Cycle Hum interesting. I never thought it could be that light. I have a tele with a Pau Ferro board which had a similar color to the danelectro when I bought it until I oiled the fretboard which made it darker. That’s why I thought that maybe it looked dry.

NO Sense to have a 12 string if you adding, rock, fuzz, distortion; can do that with any guitar !
