  • I am extremely happy with this purchase!!!!!
    Cons--its heavy. Pros---everything else.
Mine is black and yellow but the other colors also have a BEAST in their arsenal too! Hope you have one of your own.
I got it on Amazon as a bare tool 2 years ago or longer. It has outperformed my expectations. Effectively, this is the narrow Hole-Hog.

Hey mate is it a normal function for the drill to ratchet relief clutch itself when put under to much load??

Thanks for commenting/question! In my experience, I do not have any ratcheting going on with the drill as I would describe it. The torque-relief clutch will disengage the drill head when it grabs in material but I do not have any ratcheting that I can think of. If you have a DeWalt service place, you might want to have it checked out (especially given how much it costs) or see if your warranty will allow you to take it back to the store and trade it in for a new one (that would be ideal)!

Because my dental insurance is lacking, my dentist uses a multitool. You must have great insurance! I know how much this drill costs.

    What did this drill cost?

Thanks for commenting Charles! At best I can remember I either paid around $300 for the bare tool and if I got it in a kit, I paid $430. I think I bought just the bare tool though since I have plenty of chargers and prefer 9ah 60V batteries and the kits come with 6ah. I am really happy with this drill. I would buy it again.

Howdy James! Thanks for commenting on the video. The more experience I have with all the other pro-grade tools out there, regardless of "color" the more I think we have it good as builders to have such a selection to choose from and especially if you are cool with any-ol' color. For years, my crew had the use of the corded Milwaukee Hole hog and the torque on that thing is so respectable that you could (and I did) hurt yourself if not careful. Loved that tool. I would have it but for trying to go cordless while then, staying with one battery line (kinda pigeon holed myself on that one).
Ideally, I would love to cherry-pick the best tool for the job regardless of brand/color but I have really settled in on keeping a single charger so I have locked myself into just the black and yellow.
Cool on the Milwaukee though! That is a very powerful red BEAST!

how many holes per battery charge

Thanks for the question! And it’s a really great question! I run a 9ah 60V battery (3ah at 60V) every time with this tool and have never had to switch batteries during a job. I can count 80 holes above me as I type this in my unfinished kitchen project and the tool had battery to spare. I wish I had a number for you but I have yet to bottom a battery out with this drill (so far)

    Hi Steve go Dewalt

Hi Jonathan! Thanks for checking out the video!
I am fortunate that I know a number of contractors in the area I work and see Rigid, Milwaukee, Makita, (a little Festool) and of course, DeWalt. I started with DeWalt because of the guy I worked with bought a big cordless kit and the tools worked great! So, when I had enough pennies saved, I dove into cordless DeWalt. Since then, I have really tried to stay with the same charger so all batteries could go on the same charger and the variation in batteries was only the amp-hour rating. With the 60V now, I am a 2-battery platform but at least the same charger works on both the all batteries work on the 20V tools. Any platform would work great for the "more use than a weekend-er" pro-grade tools so its all good from that stand point. I count myself lucky to have some really good tools that make me money and perform every time.
And it doesn't hurt that black and yellow is a pretty good color combination for this color blind guy! Love the high contrast.
