By rejecting the claim that it's not a nut, and maintaining that it IS a nut, it turns the statement into an absurdity, which is funny and also has a ring of truth to it.
Is Franklin supposed to be a FDR parody? I mean, his name is Franklin; his wife's named Eleonore; he was a New York governor; he comes from a rich family; has distinctive and refined manners and his face and glasses give him a general FDR look.
If the wife doesn’t like her husband acting crazy she should put him on medication. Maybe that could work to make him act more normal and that act off-the-wall bonkers and crazy. Then she wouldn’t have to be embarrassing see him in public in fact, they should turn that into an episode. I’d be cool. But at the end, she finds him boring. Because he’s way too normal so she decides to take him off the medication because he was more interesting. He was weird and crazy.
"It'll be bigger than the badger blaster!" I've wondered since I was a kid if that was a weapon to use against badgers or a catapult that uses badgers as ammunition. The latter is more likely but that still seems like a war crime to use badgers against someone like that lol
God, I wish this show had a third season back then. (It wouldn't be the same if it was made nowadays.) Franklin is especially one of the funniest characters in it.
