    Sebo definitely has an "old school" engineering mindset compared to the fashion statements of other vac brands. Their manuals provide real info, the vacs are well built and engineered,, and do the job for cleaning floors and other areas well without too many "gotchas". Also nice that they offer a wide range of spare parts!

      Sebo's are truly one of the best out there when it comes to reliability! They are easily repairable as well.

    In a word “yes.”
    They’re built like appliances of the past, meant to be repaired, not thrown away.
    In the case of SEBO however, and their rebranded machines, failure rates seem to be extraordinarily low so for the lay owner they truly are a vacuum that will likely last your lifetime.

    In regards to the cord, you can dismantle the handle grip and replace the cord on the existing handle. I've done it many times in my shop.

  • @oglethorpetweedsmuire9086

    You got me right away with the fully detailed parts diagram. After repairing vacs for many years, this indicated a level of care and detail that is exceptional. Would really like to have a power head for the stairs tho'. I'm hoping they have one or I will have to adapt my Kenmore power head (yuk).

    I love my sebo's, I have an X4 and E1, they have been solid machines, nothing has gone wrong with them ever. I've also got a cordless and bagless Shark for quick pick ups on hard floors, there's been multiple problems with the batteries and once a month I have to strip it down and clean it with my sebo, otherwise it clogs up and suction reduces. I wish there were more lightweight bagged machines available.

    Just bough a Sebo today, and was impressed by the "exploded" parts view.
    I don't remember seeing that since '60s (or earlier?).

      My Sebo had the red light on when I vacuum . I see a plastic that I think belongs somewhere but don’t know where

    We have a Sebo Airbelt E3 and had a very bad clog in the hose near the handle end. It happened because we have a very furry dog, a samoyed. That's why I bought a Sebo. The E3 hose has a wire inside it for the powerhead and stuff gets stuck on it. The solution for extreme clogs is to use a dryer lint brush that goes on an electric drill. If you look around there are some brush sets that come with a smaller brush head as well as the 4". It takes two people and a couple tries but its allot cheeper than a new hose.

    Just ordered a SEBO 300 Mechanical before watching your videos. I am attracted to the points you mentioned, notably their repairability.
    I hope this vacuum lives up to my expectations.

    Just bought my first Sebo today and had my mind absolutely f ing blown! The use of the attachment hose as also the route for dirt when vacuuming carpet is absolutely genius! It saves cost it’s easy to remove clogs and reduces failure points. This is a company that actually cares about their product and thinks about how it’s used

    Appreciate this video. I've learned so much that I never knew I didn't know. I wish I found this before my purchase though. I just received my Shark Stratos today and haven't opened it yet because of these videos. It's going back without opening and I'll be getting a Sebo. Unfortunately looks like I'll be taking a 10% restocking hit though on something unopened.

    • @hmg9194
      @hmg9194 Před rokem +2

      Better apparently, more reliable

    • @ABG2412
      @ABG2412 Před rokem +6

      I have and use both. They offer similar performance overall, but Sebos tend to be more durable, less prone to have issues (not that Miele is bad in this regard) generally, and Sebos are more user serviceable (more service friendly for the professionals as well). The Miele(s) tend to be a little bit flashier (automatic suction adjustments for example) and have bags that seal (in the vacuum compartment) better. You would be HARD PRESSED to find dust outside the bag in the compartment on a Miele but it is not uncommon to find a little fine dust inside the bag compartment of a Sebo. That said, the overall filtration from by the time the air is expelled is very close. Miele still has the edge in this regard (like 9.9 for Sebo vs. perfect 10 with Miele for air filtration). Both are long life units, but the Miele definitely seems more fragile while not really providing much user serviceability other than changing bags/filters.

    How are the Sanitaires & Royal & riccar? i'm not a vacuum guy, but have repair career experience.

    • @sprockkets
      @sprockkets Před 10 měsíci

      Sanitaire is now a zombie Chinese brand, along with Royal. Riccar has gone downhill but not completely. They no longer source their vacs from Panasonic since they left the US market.
      Sebo is basically one of the only brands that just won't compromise.

  • @27delphi

    How much is the handle and cord? I had to replace one on a Miele about 7 years ago and the handle and cord was $125.00! I could have gotten a cord for other vacs for 10 bucks!

  • @mattheviewer

    Should add Sebo seems to be a "continous improver" in that they make running improvements to existing models. Example; D4 and E3 hose now have new swivels eliminating the pigtail wiring (new contact brushes are easy to access too).

    • @vacuumsrus
      @vacuumsrus  Před rokem

    I want to like SEBO, but HOLY CRAP their machines are hideous. Not even functional ugly, modern BMW ugly for no reason ugly.
