ROAR!
Still Sharks are amazingly innovative, (lift away and still power head like a canister) and they are light weight and quiet. Sucks that they cant be repaired easily. They have amazingly tough belts unlike most other brands. Most all proprietary electronics use protected bits and you can get a complete set of them for less than ten bucks at any Harbor Freight.
Any advice on getting the housing back in place? I cannot get mine to fit back in place correctly.
What similar vac would you recommend in regards to ease of repair and parts availability?
There are two stores in my area (used to be 5) and they are both super aggressive. I get it. Online and package stores are selling plastic junk at great prices (sometimes) and most people can't tell the difference. The thing is, I can, but honestly I don't want to buy from either of them. They immediately showed me their most expensive models (Sebo) before I had a chance to explain my situation and what I was looking for. One promised a 10 yr warranty (5 over the factory) but I'm not sure they're going to be around long enough to honor it.
a year later, you're still coming in clutch 😩👌 (sorry) i've only one had two Dysons that lasted (the OGs), i probably will never get another one, but at least my DC14 FA is good to go for another 10 years. i put the brush back on without the brush rod/caps inserted just to have a little less to have to pull the belt around, seemed to help a bit.
i JUST bought my first Shark... REALLY cheap! when it fails, i'm buying my next vacuum from YOU! thanks!!!
Repeat after me PLANNED OBSOLESENCE. Keep repeating.
i took my older professional NV400 apart and when putting it back together there are two gaskets by the back between the top and bottom that i didnt notice and now i cant find anything about them , ie how to put them back on, i guess they were to lessen the vibration noise, any help?
What about if the switch test ok
Great video, thanks for the help.
Ahh, still a little confused. We only have hardwood floors that seem like they're always covered in dog hair. I've learned my lesson about Sharks, thanks to you guys, but what is a great vacuum (don't care about price) if one doesn't have carpet??
my first pick www.vacuumsrus.com/product/cleaning/vacuumcleaners/sebo/sebo-airbelt-e2-turbo-dark-blue/
If dog hair on the rugs is a major issue though it's worth looking at the E2's big brothers the E3 and D4
@@vacuumsrus Beautiful, thank you so much!! Thank you for the comment below as well, although I don't have carpet or rugs so the Sebo E2 should work. Thanks!!
Many thanks; excellent video!
Thanks for a very informative video. We bought our first Shark a number of years ago and have generally been pleased with its performance. Inevitably it has finally broken down and I am about to investigate the cause. Researching on line videos led me to yours and some others which don't bode well for a successful repair. If we need to replace the machine, then this lack of basic repairability will certainly dissuade us from buying a second Sharp. Its a great shame that an otherwise well designed product is spoilt by this marketing philosophy.
Riccar might be "assembled" in the US but most of the components (aside from the cases) are made in China. Not a bad thing because parts and products made in China can vary widely in terms of quality. What concerns me is how deceptive it appears by making it look like Riccar is "made in America" when it's really not.
You made me feel good spending my hard earn money on a SEBO Felix Onyx, I got it 2 days ago lol. Everyone is questioning my decision on the expensive product I got lmao. Thank you.
I know said he recommends other vacuums in his other videos and I'll go check them out, but does anyone on here have any they can recommend?? Im getting really fed-up with vacuums in general. Ive owned a bissel, dyson, and hoover that have all failed in less than 2 years. This time, i did research and chose a shark, because this one had seemingly good reviews and its failed less than 6 months later. I'm on here, because im trying to figure out how to repair it, but I guess I can't. I dont have money to keep buying vacuums and this is just insanity
So the solution is we need to pay $2000 for a Kirby, or a Hoover, or a Rainbow.
Thank you very much
My problem is mine is like yours but won't extraact
I plan on getting a canister vacuum soon. Would you recommend a new Riccar Canister Vacuum? Are they a good choice? Thanks for posting, great video.
Miele and sebo are more reliable but riccar deep clean better imo.
@@alexsummaria371 Thanks for being the awesome man you are and answering my question. Also, thank you so much for posting this amazing video.
NEVER IN MY LIFE! I be researching about vacuums. What in the adulting am I doing lol. I call this "PRogrEss." Felix has my Heart.
@@JonathanFarelas I am so sorry. We did this to you.
Thank you good sir. You saved me money with this excellent step by step video.
What’s the best sebo or Miele vacuum for excessive dog/pet hair? My shark is not cutting it. Mostly hardwood floors and a few larger area rugs.
Does sebo have upgrade parquet thing for hardwood or does horse one work good? Or even better can you just use same power head going from carpet to hardwood and not waste time changing out attachment?
There is an upgraded parquet included with all Onyx series
How do I get help on getting my shark cordless vacuum back together again trying to put belt back on but I took more of it apart than I nodoubt should have I know it can go back together need help on the belt an motor how to place it back in
Thanks so much, I just fixed my vacuum thanks to you ❤
Glad we could help!
I’ve watched 3 videos and Zebo doesn’t use a rubber band to turn the brush, why is this better?
I bypassed my switch and the nozzle lights stopped working and no red light either. So I wired the same switch back up all lights the red and headlights are working but no rollerbrushes does this mean the switch was fine and it's something else? There's 2 belts they are fine it leaves the motor next
Is it possible to get a new fin roller for a stratos? Really dont want to buy a new power head if i can avoid it and i can't locate the piece
Excellent video. A suggestion. Before opening up the head, insure there is 120 volt power going to the head. One simple problem is the hose is not fully connected to the body. The complicated problem is the vacuum sensor controlling head power has failed.
Hello, thank you for your very informative videos. Sebo canisters are not widely available in the UK. So, what would be your pick between a Miele C3 Cats & Dogs canister and a SEBO Automatic X7 ePower Upright Vacuum Cleaner, SEBO X7 Excel Plus Vacuum Cleaner or SEBO Felix Excel Vacuum Cleaner? I have a pet, and manoeuvrability is important, but so are also performance and long-term costs. Thank you!
I appreciate the steps shown here, but it sure seems like the tech likes to use a big flathead screwdriver (and occasionally a hammer) on some somewhat delicate parts. Not sure I would want this guy monkeying around with my vacuum. It seems like there are better tools and techniques to treat your vacuum properly.
I am glad for Vacuum Repair places as that is a lot of work to get to. Better to let someone do this for you but know you are showing those that might do these repairs.
I got the cover off using a flat head screw driver worked great
What do you recommend I do if it is spraying water only and not picking up anything from the solution tank? The vacuum is fine and the red thing is spinning when I press the throttle
Thank you for the great information. I have that roll er problem also that was intermittent but now it's not working at all. I do like the shark vacuum cleaner for its convenient accessories. Which one would you recommend to replace it? That is pretty comparable to it. And if problems occur repair components are available.
Thanks much for the great video. Things went mostly okay for me. I managed to bust the clutch shrowd. There are two screws on the back side. One goes into the shrowd and the other goes into something else. I got the wrong one. Also, you should wear protective eye gear! When I was using my big screw driver to stretch that belt, it jumped on me and I stuck myself in the face. 🥲
Nothing is built to last any more my mum had a hoover jr for 15 years and nit a days problem all these new hoover a EXPENSIVE CRAP.
Just took my shark to be repaired, told me the same. Stated German and US made you can find parts.
Can you compare to Riccar’s top of the line canister?
He did not screw in the other side of the hose. The hose would fit without shortening if it was installed properly.
what is the best vacuum cleaner that doesn't make noise?
Great video fix my vacuum. Thank you
Glad it helped!
What’s your recommendation for cheapest sebo for my shag?
Thank you so much! Ordering the replacement items now from you to fix mine.
We're glad to hear that! Here's to a repaired vacuum! 🥂
I regretfully vacuumed up diatomaceous earth with my Shark AZ1501 apex lift away and it still works but not as well. I cleaned out the filters and what I could without opening it up. Should I bother taking it apart or having it done? It is only a year old & was in great condition prior to me doing this. I thought maybe I could blow off any powder inside ? Would appreciate any advice. And no I will never do that again as I have now learned that was a big NO NO 😜
Where can I take it to get it fixed
You can try some local vacuum shops near you!
Thanks for talking about this. We can legislate minimum, in the hopes to limit how wasteful companies are.
After several hours of trying to do what should have been simple, I agree. I won't be buying another shark vacuum. Suggestions?
