Great video. I make really nice pizza's with the Aldi Nan breads, just top with chopped tomato's, sliced onion & mushroom, finish with mozzarella & a few dried herbs. Very tasty
I make myself a little Ploughman's Lunch once a week and I always eat the pork pie cold. They are absolutely fine to eat cold, in fact they are best enjoyed at room temperature.
Melton Mowbray ones are superior, I prefer the Mini Melton Mowbray style but I know pensioners will often buy a very large pork pie and then enjoy it over a few days via cutting into slices.
I’m not a pastry fan and never at many sausage rolls and things and I’m allergic now. But about 11 years ago I’d be on no food or drink for 2 days for surgery, the 1st day I was taken down as a child who’d been in a bad accident was rushed in & needed my slot. No problem I said and I was taken back up to the ward, to loads of staff apologising profusely, tbh had the cut me and took me back out for a child or anyone else I wouldn’t be bothered. That evening I got a usual hospital meal.
The day after I got my slot but for lunch staff had ordered me a ploughman’s…omg! It was delicious! I had a salad & chips for a meal in town & it had cheese and chutney on…. It reminded me of the hospital one 😂
I miss real bread and crackers, keep pastry, cake and biscuits 😂 gluten free bread has no right to be called ‘bread’
@@lilacscentedfushias1852 I think you have every right to tweak a Ploughman’s to your non pastry specifics and still use the term.
If my other half and I are cooking something in the oven for 20-25 minutes to have with jacket potatoes, we cook the potatoes in the microwave for 8-10 minutes then put in the oven when the other things go in. That way they cook through first and the oven makes the skin nicer.
I also cook my potatoes in the microwave but I fully cook them then it's only 5 minutes in the air fryer i save shed loads of money not used my oven for 15 mths xx
buy loose veg and make a pot of soup! also jacket potato for one meal! you could pLan the whole weeks meals if you shopped for the week!
Thank you for making these. I'm literally down to my last 2 pound this week but have lots of staples in the cupboard ❤
Send me your details I'll pop u a tenner in no stress atall
Lidl are not officially the cheapest that accolade belongs to Aldi every one of the last 8 years.
I’m shocked at how low the prices are over there. In Ireland we pay at least twice as much if not more in Lidl. The food looks great. You’re a better cook than you think. 👍
That’s not chilli with no chilli in it pal. No foil on your spuds and you’d have crispy skin. ✌🏻
(202) I have NEVER eaten a heated pork pie. That weirded me out no end.
It’s not something I’ve eaten often because I’ve never liked pastry, now I’m allergic…
But, they’re best hot from the oven from wherever makes them. In my local area it’s butchers shops. The gelatin in it is warm and juicy rather than cold globs if it. The best is far better too. Have you never had pie & peas?
Tha, the real butcher’s shop ones are best, the supermarket ones blah…🤢
Tinfoil was the issue, it didn't allow the skin to crisp up, only need it if cooking in the embers of a fire/bbq 😉
I wanted to say, I do my jacket potatoes in the air fryer. I put mine in the microwave for 10 minutes and then I air fry them for 40 minutes without foil and they come out absolutely perfect. Nice and crispy skin and I cook them on a 160 but on bake or 160 On air fry if you don’t have the bake function. I won’t call that chilli . It didn’t have any chilli in it, but I think you know that
I'll give your method of bakes potato a go but I did put some chilli in I just didn't film it. I think I mentioned it on the following days video where I had the 2nd portion.
I love heated pork pies, gets the pork juices flowing, a bit like Deano.....no offence just a compliment.
I love basic food and hate poncey restaurant grub lol.
Keep up the good work mate, you are definitely the man 😊❤
A heated up pork pie 😂😂 and served with peas well that’s new! Usually served at room temperature with some branston pickle. Great for picnics and buffets
All pie and pea cafes in Yorkshire serve them hot and crispy out of the oven with peas and mint sauce
New sub love your content.
As a leicester lad home of proper pork pies you eat them cold never warm they taste better cold if your warming your commiting death to a work of art.
All the best😊
Room temp pie, hot peas. 😋 Love you call it breakfast, dinner & tea, just as it should be. None of the lunch malarkey x
Good well thought out meal. Giving me ideas too 👍
Take the foil off your potato in the airfryer for the last 5 mins and it will crisp the skin x
Why any foil at all? 10 minutes in the dog (micro) and then blast it in the air
Love you deano and your love to your family.
Love watching your videos your so normal like us in Cumbria.
Love to you and Mrs deano.
Ann . Cumbria xx.😊.
Pie and peas needs a bit of Henderson relish on it been from Sheffield that’s our staple.
yes chris im from sheff bit of hendersons on a pie extra brown sauce , gravy cant go wrong :)
I always remember many moons ago an away trip to Burnley at Turf Moor I think it was and they served hot pork pies… well the jelly instantly burnt everyone’s mouth and was almost launched back at the kiosk which I don’t condone by the way 🙈 top video Deano, the jacket spud looked good! …. Smithy
Well done it looks nice .
Grating mushrooms makes it more merry
Warm pie and warm peas.i add a bit of sugar to my peas!with mint sauce😊
Keep it up, great videos
Brilliant you can do it on a budget well done
Love throw together one pot meals with mince. You need to keep some chilli flakes in your staple cupboard.
I'd microwave for 60 seconds and then actifry for 4 to 5 mins, thatway meat is piping hot and crust is crispy, enjoy
That cheese is gorgous, my fav ❤
Tomorrow you could have egg, mushroom and cheese omelette from what you said is in your fridge. Well done on the 2 quid challenge.
Eating cheaply is hard work. Thank you for the video
Deano baked potato.
Good day you have had.
Great ann in Cumbria.xx
Thank you! You too!
U could fry the mushrooms, take the pastry off the pork pies and thinky slice the pork pie meat and have a sort of mushroom and sausage sandwich
little tip for chilli, put some Worcestershire sauce in and half a teaspoon of marmite. Makes it epic
DEANNNOO its warm pie n peas bang pie in air fryer 3 mins air crisp , deffo vinegar on ya mushys in micro boom job done for me.
Pie and Peas after match meal for Rugby teams with loads of brown sauce you cant go wrong
Throw it back into Chef Mike for 30 seconds to melt that Cheese and what a "Budget Winner". I found fresh Egg Noodles and Mushroom Stir Fry mix in the reduced section today so I picked up some Cheap Pork Loins that are currently marinating in Homemade Char Siu Sauce made from the Pantry, whuch I'll grill before time. Add a few more fresh ingredients and me and Dear Old Mum are having Cheap Fake Away Char Siu Pork Lo Mein this evening for about £3 per portion
Bacon bits 500g pound in Tesco's
Root vegetables are best stored being covered in a bucket of sand, ancient trick! 😮😉
I would have stuffed the mushrooms with the rest of the rice packet with mozzarella on top but thats because i don't eat eggs😊😊
well done👌
What an excellent idea and series this has been but was that chilli without any hint of chilli? 🙂
People what happened to his last two fish fingers he consumed four on his first day
them pork pies not the best Deano had 1 other day, rest went in the bin lol
Make a mushroom omelette with your mozzarella yum with some garlic bread
Aldi tomorrow then with your last £1 😊
He will need that for the trolley
So pizza it is for me, extra pecorino and parmigiano regiano cheeses! - Needs more booze... 😂😂😂🍻✌️
Deano, you're starting to cook like a chef, saving from one meal to start the next.
I think you’re going to go to Asda but why do i think you’d go to Waitrose or M&S just to make it harder for the last day 😂
Warm pies and warm peas big chap 😊
you could've made a sloppy joe (think thats what its called) garlic bread with chilli on top baked in the oven with melted cheese. god i rate fancy that now
Why did you put the potato in tinfoil, I would only do that if I put it in the fire 🔥
Don't need to wrap spud when only bunging it in for ten mins and then the skin will be crispy.
Needed to whack that chill and spud with the mozzarella on top under the grill for a min then it would have been perfect..
Keep up the good work deano.
Love watching you.
Your brilliant.
From Ann in Cumbria CA144QY. X
Luv pork pies prepared by chef Mikey.
"Mozarella": make sure it's "latte de buffallo" for quality..😊🍻.
Cold pie warm peas
That spud and chilli reminds me of jail food but foods food til payday so yea mate why not!!
ok im shocked. those pork pies in lidl in southend-on-sea are £1.99!!! exactly the same ones
dont wrap in tin foil .... air fry after microwave for same time
You're not alone I've never bought or even tasted mozzarella cheese.
Erm… food poisoning! When re-heating meat it has to get to above 70 degrees… not just warmed over 😮 (having worked in professional kitchens)
I would have taken the lid off the pies and taken pork out . And warmed the pie shell up... Chopped up the pork filling and heated that . Cooked the peas added to pies shell then add heated chopped pork back on top .
😱 put your jacket potato 🥔 in the microwave, then when its cooked, put it in the air fryer to crisp up. 🤤😋 Save on electric, oh you M st of herd me, you did it.n😂😂😉
tesco bacon off cutts are £1 i make some good food with them
Pecorino tastes of more than mozarella, usually i use both though...
warm pie warm peas
Three pork pies!!!?? Diet is going well then Deano 😆😆
Stuffed mushrooms Deno!! Rice, kidney beans & mozzarella on top, from the wife 🤣
That's not funny.
❤😊
I had mozzarella but never bought it 👍🏻
👍
Next, Mr. C(H)unt will use you for the budget.
Mind stick the loo roll in fridge for the morning that CHILLI as u keep saying must be so hot 🔥 🔥 🔥 Gordon Ramsey eat yer heart out 😆
Wrapping the potato in foil just slows the cooking time and prevents the skin crisping, and your electric and gas bill is going to be more than one pound a day..
I don't think it's a good idea to heat pork pies. Could get food poisoning. In the mushy peas I add some mint sauce. Not keen on vinegar. I have something called non brewed condiment, which is a vinegar but milder. The one they use in fish and chip shops.
Don't wrap the potato in foil bud, we do exactly like you but 10 minutes at 200 after microwave with no foil and you get crispy skin lol 😆 😅
Technically it's day 5
I learned years ago not to reheat pork.
be better if you were actually spending and eating with 2 quid and not using the food from the past days cos 15 quid on food for 5 days is quite easy..
No chilli powder??? x
I feel like you missed a trick and maybe shoukd done lilds earlier in the week.
At 8 30 am loads 60% off reduced thing's in reduced bay ir even just on normal shelves.
Lildls fresh bakery could have givebn you quick breakfast plus often seen hot cross buns right now 60% off.
Mushroom were a good deal abd qoumd be great wuth slice of bacon or ham and fried egg perhaps with grated cheese ir mozzarella.
Lidls have a 1.50 fruit and veg box that yiu dont notice ubtol you gone throigh
Till usually on window or by self serve. Check there 1st before paying . Iceland currently do 5 rashers smoked or unsmoked bacon for £1. Maybe next challenge set £15 and shop around and plan meals and list so you get most amount for your money. Shopping around and knowing who's cheapest is only way to keep costs down so check the aldis super six and lilds pick of week to compare. Here they so close together easy to do both.
Not sure about you lunch warming pork pie mate not the best lunch.
I cook everything in bulk I couldn’t cook like this everyday would h8 to see my gas bill 😂
Pork pie and peas that's just wrong 😂😂😂
Noooo Lucy, its so right. Bit of brown sauce or mint sauce....WOW
Chilli is supposed to be spiced up with chilli's or paprika no offence but mince and red kidney beans are not 'Chilli'. Good effort though.
I put chilli powder in but I just didn't do it on camera for some reason, I do mention it though
Mushrooms are 99% water, super expensive. You should have gone cheap deli meat.
Love this challenge. Any chance you venture out an do this challenge vegan?
Budget nuts 50p
A bit of chilli powder and some Tommy K would have made it a bit more appealing lol 😉
Bargains 😅
Cooking with Carl-UK ...... any chance you could shout his channel out please xx
Where's the chilli in the chilli?
Some like it not hot
Dean warm pies.
From Ann. X
Do the pork pies nice n hot in the air fryer then hot peas too....there's no other way xx
It would be impossible to do this challenge in rip off ireland
Invest in proper cheeses, the difference is in the taste (ie Parmigiano tastes better than "parmesan")! 😉❤️🍻
That is not Chile, you didn't add any chili or cayenne pepper. Really it is just mice and beans in a tomato sauce. Look good though. You don't need foil for a naked potato, it just keeps the skin soft. And by the way what happend to the rest of your fish fingers?
Mice😂😂😂😂
Yeh was just going to say that 😂
Add malt vinegar to jarred Indian curry. THE DOGS BOLLOCKS. 😋
The jacket potatoe looked decent, but what would be really impressive is to see you grow a mohawk like spudman 😂
That's not funny.
Mhmmm
@@thaisstone5192It's racist
It's amazing you haven't poisoned yourself if you haven't heated the porked pies properly.
What's happening people, he's not in the kitchen again?!
