I’m rewatching the whole series. RIP Ed
same
Me too. I miss Ed. So hard to believe he’s gone.
I love this program so much. Thanks for it! Its great to have on while I draw. I can peek up to see the page turn, and then get back to the board and just listen for a bit.
You guys are the best. Great job!!!
Batman's Cape is what started my liking for Batman. Everybody had a square or rectangle cape while Batman's cape has a lot of curves. I have been falling away from superhero comics, I still love seeing images of Batman. He is fun to draw.
Jim Aparo = Greatness
That Batman pose is Jim Carrey doing Andy Kaufmann doing Elvis Presley!
I really loved the Swamp Thing issue in Gotham when he climbs a skyscraper like King Kong. I remember I did a fan drawing of that, which got published in an old issue of Amazing Heroes.
Another Great ep guys!! Stoked you guys also like Dolph Lundgren Punisher. Still own a VHS copy.
COPS was so good...the cartoon and the DC comic. I was a big fan back in the day. I distinctly remember buying the first issue at the gas station down the road from my house.
That Robin series was all over back then...and I constantly found it in cheap boxes for years to come. Good series, but it was definitely everywhere.
I'm writing this from the future, but everyone who comments on your videos being great to just listen to while drawing, I've been seasoning a mortar and pestle while watching. Your content is great for even those of us who haven't drawn in years.
Yes!! So excited to watch and then fall asleep to the lullaby’s of cartoon kayfabe,
It’s cool to see Jack Davis drawing.
Jim: "Wizard of cards..."
Ed: "Couldn't give a fuck."
Ed is hilarious 😆
I saw the New Warriors and X-Force as two sides of the same coin. Loved both book for different reasons. Fabian also wrote the Nomad comic in the 90s, and man, I LOVED that book as a kid.
aww hell yeah I had that Whitman Condorman adaptation
COPS was the best. I remember Bulletproof, Long Arm, and Miss Demenor.
Don't forget Buttons McBoomboom.
I recently bought them on DVD due to my love of them. They didn't hold up well.
just found this channel, love this stuff!
That OMAC pic looks a lot like an early Savage Dragon or something.
Barb Rausch was the artist on many of those Barbie comics. She was also an assistant to Mike Vosburg (Tales from the Crypt TV show covers) and Arn Saba (Neil the Horse). Her own work was very unique (See Vicki Valentine) from Renegade Press which shows off an extension of her Katy Keene fandom.
Dave Kiersh what would we do without you, DK!

Dave! Glad you found the show and thanks for this info. I'm gonna go dig out my Vicki Valentine's for a closer look!
I love this series! Keep em coming! :)
I can't confirm it, but I'd bet money that the company that made the Jack Kirby pins was run by Larry Marder of Beanworld fame.
It's funny, cause over the years, I've had a few dozen people ask me how much their comic collection would be worth, if I would be interested in it, etc. And with the exception of maybe one or two people, ALL of them have tons of copies of early Image and Valiant stuff with all the foil covers and stuff. There will be some random X-Men, Spider-Man, and Death/Rebirth of Superman books in there, but otherwise, it's all stuff I can easily find for 50 cents or less at conventions/shops.
I miss Wizard Magazine.
Durermac same here. I wish there was a magazine I could pick up at the store that was like Wizard.
"Power Ponytail" would've made a great VALIANT title!
That intro 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was awesome. Wish I thought of it. There were times when I wasn't buying comics but I always bought a Wizard just to keep up. Subbin
Can't go wrong with Parker Lewis!
Cartoonist Kayfabe: The ad you mentioned early on (talking about being able to buy multiple issues, pre-bagged, etc.) was from THE SPIDER'S WEB, a local comic shop in Puyallup that was run by Todd McFarlane's brother-in-law. I frequented there and met Todd on several occassions. You may have heard that they sold signed versions of SPIDER-MAN number 1, but stamped the back of the issue as a kind of certificate of authenticity. The owner was more into hockey and other sports cards, but really capitalized on his connection to Todd. :)
Big shout out to Monroeville. I worked a small record store there for years called the Record Den. So many Monroe “evil” stories
1:09.29 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA You TWO remind me of my best friend James and I! LOVE IT!!!! Btw Some of my Wizards are missing their posters. Would you sell me yours? d:D
Damnit Ed ! Canadian tuxedo!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
Road Warriors on the road! Haha I wore that issue out.
1:34:00 Never knew about Suburban Jersey Ninja She-Devils!
Didnt the gijoe silent issue come out around this time as well?
Not even close. That thing was in the early/mid 1980s.
Loving this show. Woulda thought you guys woulda loved Fabian! I think New Warriors had the better story overall.
Some of those WWF drawings were by Steve Ditko.
Bart Sears!
Haha Canadians call it a Canadian tuxedo too.
Don Perlin = Goodness
You guys got chemistry lol! Hmu if you wanna shoot anything!
If you want to check out one single issue to make you appreciate Tom Sutton I recommend Marvel Premier #50 featuring Alice Cooper
So many people's names I've been butchering for years...
Don't expect that we're saying all the names correctly. haha
D&C brought me here. Also, I missed these Wizard issues.
"I had to endure Aparo's art" = exactly! especially when at the same time Breyfogle was rocking Detective with such skill and style (RIP)
Bart Simpson lol
Batman is the only decent DC character. All the other DC stable are just continually ruined. SO many could be dope as fuck, but DC makes the weirdest decisions
