When you only embrace the handouts mentality of the democrats, and you won’t talk to republicans, then it’s not both sides. Why should republicans waste time and money on us knowing that we don’t vote for them. Make both sides listen, then vote for the best candidate. We can’t make progress when democrats take us for granted and republicans won’t listen. That why Hispanics and Asians are listened to. They don’t know how they are going to vote!

The US is a democratic republic. Because most liberals don't understand what that means, they're actually losing support. The tide is turning because people aren't falling for the lies anymore. Too many governmental boundaries were breached and the liberal media has been losing ground since Fauci, Biden, Hillary, Liz, Kamala, Pelosi, etc. have been exposed as the false demigods that think they are above the law. People are tired of being treated like they're idiots and are not falling for the lies. Bill has seen the writing on the wall. The left is losing ground due to extremists. Media ratings are tanking. The truth is coming out thanks to independent reporting from those who have left the media outlets that are trying to control speech. Freedom will rule once and for all!

    Bill,
I’ve never “quiet quit” in any job I’ve had. I’m 60 years old, and after the pandemic I began managing a restaurant in a hotel in Orlando.
    The customers were horrific!
Yes, there were those that were nice, but on the whole, the entitlement was atrocious.
    After working 70 - 80 hours a week for 6 months - I quit.
I didn’t quiet quit, but working hard and then getting yelled at because of being understaffed because we couldn’t get people to work for $20 - $22 an hour…
Sorry, the rudeness is not worth it.
People aren’t “quiet quitting” they are tired of putting up with the BS while corporate big-wigs make millions.

Let's try to get the pendulum in da middle 😉

@@nunureds837 The reality is, most people work their butts off for very little return. It's draining on ones life and eventually they dedide it's not worth it. Older generations could at least work their way up to a better paying position and actually afford a house. These days, upward mobility is limited and wages have stalled while the cost of living has skyrocketed. People are killing themselves working for next to no gain. That's where the real problem lies. Young people work just as hard as anyone else, them being "lazy" is a myth. In fact, most younger folks today work MULTIPLE jobs and some will even Uber on the side. $50k a year used to be a great income for a family, nowadays it's poverty. Hell, $100k in most cities is poverty. The era of single income families owning homes and vacationing every year is gone.

@@michlo3393 I agree! Still no excuse for quiet quitting.. One should speak up to management, fight for what one deserves, unionize, or just resign...but properly, with written resignation. And I know it's not that easy- Maybe you have to wait for jobs to open in your field or have bills that can't wait and can't risk unemployment. However, one should always take pride in ones work and remember that anything worth fighting for is not going to be easy.

@@mihailtelematico660 It needed a bit more introspection from a female side, but i don't think they were specifically wrong, just kinda one-sided.
I do think that videogames could've been next on the list, but yeah, i still agreed with the majority of their takes, and i also think that videogames could add to it, but as a life long videogamer, i know i'm not particularly like those guys taking it out on others.
I mean, next up would be music, metal music etc., growing up in the 90s, i was a big Nirvana fan as a kid already, and listen to metal for the most part, and again, it wouldn't make me want to kill people, if anything, the aggressive tone of the music actually channels some of the anger away, granted that i don't listen to bands that glorify these things (Death, Megadeth, Sodom, they sound like promotors of it, but they're actually anti-war/violence).
Still doesn't take away from the points made about the underlying problems existing and kept in place by whoever is in power.
And while i'm not particularly a fan of capitalism, quite the opposite, but considering how far some people are taking the concept of socialism, i am also not a fan of that.
And considering i've already been part of the working class for 20 years as a Millennial, i do think that the new generation needs to pull themselves up by the proverbial bootstraps, because they're screwing the next generation.
I don't like working for a minimum wage job, but it's either that or live on welfare, or be homeless/live with mom.
I don't agree with the majority of policies concerning the working class, especially not when we're continually cleaning up the mess made by upper class and people in power (credit crisis, housing market etc.), even though i never owned a house myself and probably never will if this goes on.
Just like the "quet quitting", just do your job or actually quit, because you're only screwing over the next person.
Either form a proper movement, or keep your head down and do your job.
Or go to your boss and ask for better wage or whatever is bothering you, doubt that will change anything, but at least you did something, but quiet quitting is just giving up responsibility for the money that you earn at the job.
I am not the most motivated colleague either, but i still do my job properly for the people around me, i'm a street cleaner, if i didn't do my job properly, the streets would be a mess and garbage would pile up, and you know how easily things can escalate, butterfly effect and all.

But the issue not yet spelled out and really needs to be, is that Abbott and these local officials shipping off migrants are engaging in human trafficking. Period. I don't care if it's to illustrate a point or to try to highlight hypocrisy, they are boxing up people and moving the around in a way that falls between a coyote smuggler and the Third Reich, which first tried to purge their country of jews and gypsies by shipping them east. @@RM-ed1if Well put.. I’ve been saying to folks for over two decades that this nation’s Capitalist Economic System really should ‘at bare minimum’ go back to what was termed, “Stake-Holder Capitalism” vs. what took its place by the late 1950’s following the recession of 1958, “Share-Holder Capitalism”, as the latter, although not perfect by any measure, at least held companies &/or corporations to be semi-economically responsible within & for whichever community, city, county or, state citizenship existed where “x” company/corp resided in (albeit, at the behest of whatever level of honest/dishonest UNION of that era, oversight said Co/Corp had to uphold or answer to, more often than not). I really dig the idea of CoOp type business practice, wherein its employees’ LABOR is valued more internally by them all having a measure of stake interest of said Co... Aside from that topic though, another suggestive idea that I’ve had for many years now, is about Fed taxation in general, in that, “IF” hypothetically speaking, each and every single one of us FIRSTLY: paid what’s formulated as a fair base percentage each, REGARDLESS of WEALTH or lower income “but” SECONDLY: with the caveat that we ‘could’ actually log into whatever official US Gov website, with our individual specific I.D. data & have total control of our individual tax pie charts to physically set/adjust how much $ goes to which slice say, once a year during tax season, how much different or, how much more ‘Democratic’ would things play out?

It was about simplifying the problems and turning the light on ourselves first. He never intended to answer the idea of sanctuary cities per se, he was making the point about our language and terminology and that sometimes we use buzzwords and slang so much we lose the meaning that used to carry thru that language, as he says nobody even knows what that means. His point was that the debate between the other two about what a sanctuary city was supposed to be was totally irrelevant to a simple, blue collar american. Thats all, he was just very wordy doing it, and not clear when bouncing between metaphor and reality. And to be fair, I rewatched a portion trying to remember his earlier quote about democracy, so I maybe got a better idea of his point of view in particular.

"Give us your poor tired huddled masses". If you don't know what statue that phrase is etched into, please look it up. My parents are not from here, therefore making me a 1st generation American. Could you imagine all of those immigrants in our countries history skipping Ellis isle who include my great grandparents? Its a fair question. Now people like my grandparent from Portugal can't get into this country unless they break the law as our system is so backed up
Huddled masses all over the world deserve the right to become a citizen, and imo should be considered more than people who's first act in our country is to break the law.

Nope, totally garbage episode and I've been a fan a long time. Cringe with assuming Wynton was a pothead because he's black; a misguided discussion of masculinity from a frustrated guy with jaw problems; a guy who, in Libertarian (Republican Lite) fashion does "let immigrants in" for cheap claps, ignoring that, once they're here, he doesn't want those "Hispanics" (his term) to get educated, go to college for free, or get healthcare, just come in solely to labor, to be willing to do the jobs Americans think are important but don't want to pay a living wage for...aka he's ONLY "pro immigration" to keep wages LOW, which is a GROSS take. Plus, a Boomer miss-the-point-entirely diatribe about 'no one wants to work'...no, no one wants to be exploited for minimum wage or work 2 jobs or more to pay rent!
Libertarians are Republicans who like to smoke pot. That's the tweet.
This show is becoming 3 White Guys Talkin about How Hard They Got It and it's totally out of touch.
Bill, hang up the show after the midterms. The Dems aren't as clueless and ineffective as you keep painting them out to be... because you don't want to pay taxes, so keep pushing that tired narrative...and the anti-Biden ageism jokes, which are TIRED.
      OK, Boomer.
PS: Bill Maher has a college degree. Why he's so anti-college, ask yourself that.

The Libertarian in glasses was silent on that one. Granted, TikTok may have data collection vulnerabilities in regards to hacking and stealing US government secrets. But the mode of video production exhibited in TikTok will just be mirrored by a private enterprise. The culture will change accordingly, no unless we try to ban social media outright. And we can't do that either.

@@stevechance150 I think it's disappointing at the least and or rude at the other end to be invited onto a show and then not answer the questions asked of you. Marsalis at least attempted to answer the questions, even though he rambled and gave incoherent replies. Everyone else dodged or pretended to answer them. You could see Bill wanted to or considered pushing for real answers but ultimately decided not to. That was unfortunate. For that reason I did not enjoy the clip. But this has become common place. You see it most frequently on the Sunday morning news shows.
