Whenever I get to watch Serena's post-match interviews am always prepared to shed tears of joy; I mean she's done everything to this Tennis World, she's showcased all the skills, she has nothing to loose. Seeing her advance to round 3 is really magic
This was a quality match..It felt like a semifinal slugfest with emotions running high. Serena brining it back together in the third. She plays very efficient and hits great angles to open up the court.

I remember 10 years ago my grumpy uncle threw the remote and screamed at the TV. "Serena, you're too old already!" And this was in 2012. She just beat the #2 player in the world . . . Serena is now in her 40s. I think one of the greatest things about her is that she has been able to develop a style and technique that has blown away the rest of the competition for the past three decades. Her dad taught her well. He got all his tennis info from watching a Chris Evert instructional video on VHS.

Full disclosure: I haven't followed tennis in decades--men's or women's. I knew I hadn't heard Serena's name consistently since she gave birth, so I figured she had either retired or was on her way to do so. Then, a couple days ago, I read she won her first round match in the Open. Cool. Twenty minutes ago, I read she won her second round against the No. 2 player in the world. Oh, that's co...wait, what? She beat No. 2? Has she even been playing? *Bottom line:* She _is_ just Serena. This is just what she does, so, Serena, keep doing that thing you just do.
this is her last tournament, i think this year she played like 5 matched and lost 4 of it? and now whe defeats number 2 in the world in her last tournament in the second round hahah they crowd went nuts, and rightfully so :D

It was a good win, but it's pretty common knowledge that rankings mean absolutely nothing on the womens tour, outside of Barty and now Swiatek. Look at how the womens seeds have done at the past several grand slams. It's just an indication of what level of event each player had their yearly hot streak. High ranking? Ah, so you were hot at one of the grand slams. See Fernandez and Raducanu, the stars of last year, gone almost immediately.

No i honestly don’t think so! Mary Joe Fernandez (the interviewer ) actually loves her. All the commentators do. If you listen to them during the match it’s so one sided and obvious that they want her to win. The only one that has had a history of saying some sideways stuff to and about her (and Venus) was Mary Carillo. She’s been awful in the past.

I am a Williams fan but after the 5-5 in the 1st set, I turned out the TV and went to bed, because I was not expecting her to win from the nr.2. When I woke up this morning, I was told that Serena won and I thought my brothers were just joking until I saw this summary. Honestly, I was not expecting her to go beyond the 2nd round. So, now she has proven that the some of the Serena we know is still there, I have to stay up and watch for some other magic that might happen.
