    • @broniusbronka2703
      @broniusbronka2703 Před 2 lety +1

      The problem I think how you count msrp, you forgot that in almost all Europe there is VAT tax around 20% and in USA all prices without sale taxes included. So lets take RX 6600 330$ msrp, convert to euro 1euro = about 1.1$ so 330/1.1=300euro and add 20% VAT, so msrp for rx6600 is about 360euro. So in UK cost 289 Pounds (msrp 299), Germany 345 Euro (msrp 360 euro), my country - Lithuania 377euro, Poland 1750zl (375 euro). I don't know where you in Eastern Europe, but at least RX 6600 is around msrp, and for 1080p this card is fine. But I believe it will drop even more... AMD and Nvidia overproduced cards, and demand from miners is gone, so if they want to sell all oversupply they have they have to drop prices... In Autumn new generation of AMD and Nvidia cards will come out, so for sure they want to sell out old stock.

Not surprisingly, the prices are dropping here slower than in many bigger countries, where you usually hear the news from. If the stores are already preparing for the next gen, that would be a bit too early, seeing how many gamers remain in a situation where they haven't had the means to upgrade yet.

    There's some 3070 Ti cards available in actual Canada Computer stores for me locally. They're around 900$, which is higher than MSRP (MSRP is 599 USD, which converts to ~766 Canadian Yen) by about 140$, but it's by far the best prices for a good GPU that I've seen since 30-series launch.
    If it wasn't for the fact that I decided to settle for a prebuilt early last year with a 3060 Ti in it, I'd totally cave on getting one of these cards and making a whole new build. That 3700X and 3060 Ti combo in that prebuilt is doing some great work at 1440p and really good frame rates, so I'm pretty much just waiting for 40-series GPUs and 7000 CPUs before I decide on making an actual build.

    My guess is that they put the thermal pads on the backplate to reduce vibration noise from the fans and the plastic against the board itself

    That card is still 420 USD equivalent from the retailer near me
    It hardly matters though, since it’s out of stock. Like 95% of the GPUs on the website
    I would guess the ‘improvement’ in the GPU market really depends on where you live

    Thermally conductive plastic? Well DJI sure seems to think so with their new magnetic case for their new DJI Action 2 camera (I just bought it and it came with the case for free) and it's supposed to address the overheating problem when the camera is running in warm environments or being used as a standstill camera.

    Wonder if you can do to the 6600 like I did with my old 5700 and flash an XT bios to it for more performance? I had a GamingX with an XT Bios running over 1900mhz all the time and would benchmark to mid level 5700xt performance. Interesting Video idea if you aren't worried you may possibly brick your new, shiny, bought in a store, MSRP card.

    The pad's stuck to the back of the plastic is to prevent static buildup thermal pad's act as an discharge. Kinda stupid having an whole plastic backing but keeps cost down on card

  • @sdfasdfvccvvc
    @sdfasdfvccvvc Před 2 lety

    The thermal pads between the backplate and the PCB are there because leaving air gap between backplate and PCB would make PCB temps higher. Yea, the plastic backplate doesn't transfer heat as well as metal but it still does transfer some heat so it's still worth using thermal pads between it and PCB.
