the clang in your controller when you get a perfect parry in Ghost of Tsushima is unbelievably satisfying
Perfect dodge is really satisfying, too. Not hard to pull off, but I did it once with an archer and we shot at the same time, perfect dodged and killed him. Was extra satisfying because a trophy popped for liberating enough territories or whatever they were called immediately after. 🥲 Best gaming moment of my career; I will never achieve such a cool moment again.
Especially when the slo-mo kicks in on perfect parry and dodges
Even more satisfying in Sekiro, Surely everyone should give it a try if u didn't.
And the outfits has lots of varieties that you could use for different gameplays. Most of the time I use the Ghost and Kensei armor for stealth plays but I've started to like the gosaku for frontal fights in hard mode
@@sathishk5115I've been through both. The cinematics on Ghost is just a level beyond Sekiro.
No Batman Arkham games?
Arkham Asylum was the first game ever to make me feel so badass after taking down a swarm of enemies without taking a hit.
The sound of punches in those games are perfection.
Thank you someone said it 🙏
Fr. I expected Arkham games and God of War more than anything
while not easy.
please. no dmg in a DMC stage, or Sekiro fight is way harder than one face button and a direction.
@@beefygold4165 how about you play a game that takes real skill, not spamming X and poiting a stick the the enemies direction.
@@EinherjarV What's your connection with games and skill? How about having a low skill combat game designed to have maximum fun? How about games that you can casually master, without having to spend hours upon hours before you get some level of flow? What's wrong with that?
Shadow of Mordor deserves a place in the list. Talion is an insane orcs killing machine in the game.
came here to say this the head exploding alone haha
Shadow of war definitely should have been on this list. Talion straight up conquers all of Mordor and slays thousands upon thousands of orcs with ease.
Yes!!!!!
true! the head floating around after interrogation is brutal!
i clicked on this expecting shadow of war at number 1 becos the video said " insane combat GAmes '
I think that Prototype should be on this list. And maybe some other superhero games.
This. Prototype and the Infamous games should be on this list.
Yeah that’s the whole purpose of the Prototype games. To become the ultimate boss. I’d add the Force Unleashed games too.
They made several lists like these and put Prototype on it every time. They can't do it ALL the time.
@@wolfofdoom3294 Well, it feels incomplete without it. Maybe they should stop repeating this topic. It’s like making lists of best Wild West games and omitting RDR2.
Definitely prototype
I appreciate that Ghost of Tsushima gave me multiple ways for breaking enemy guard. My first playthrough I kept changing stances and used heavy attacks, but when I got better for the next go around, I was using more quick projectiles, parrying, and evading around.
Superhot is also a good choice for a list like this. Freezing combat to allow planning the movements makes for awesome attacks and dodging bullets, which look absolutely amazing in the replay after the level ends
Ninja Gaiden also makes you feel super strong but is difficult to pull off
I wish they'd reboot this game for a new generation. Black was the best version of the games.
Facts first rage quit game for me. Miss those years, a reboot would be nice.
Love AC3- I think it’s the most underrated. That was the first one where they seriously revamped the combat and man did it feel cool and fluid. You really could just wreck house in that game, super fun.
Agreed. They just tried to fit too much into it. Kind of got overwhelming.
Connor with the Assassin Tomahawk was just a complete and utter beast
Although that Prologue was a long ass snooze fest to become a total "Reaper"
better entry most people ignored Ass. Creed. Rogue was like all the greatest hits from the other games with more concise story and a new mechanic when your being hunted by an assassin - LOVED IT
Leap Day = Double Upload Day!
Double D Day!
just seeing tsushima in action makes me want to play it again.
I never circled back after i beat it, so i never did the DLC or the online stuff. Maybe it's time i get back to it.
me too!!!!
@@hoofhearted4
me too man, lets play online together what say? @@hoofhearted4
@@hoofhearted4 no time like the present.. enjoy that man.
I always had xbox growing up so I’m just now playing GoT. Finished the main story and playing the DLC rn and I love it
Doom Eternal and Ghostrunner are straight up relaxing once you master their mechanics.
It was too stressful for me lol
🗿
Seriously. Playing Eternal after 100 hours you just get into your flow state and it’s so satisfying. Swapping mods, perfect dodges, weak spot snipes with the “sniper”. Goat game
yea didn't enjoy the platforming and lack of ammo in eternal for me. platforming in an fps doesn't usually bother me but i just wasn't having fun
I couldn't agree more.
Sekiro combat system is the best I ever experienced in a sword ⚔️ game.
Wrong
@@RumpleStiltzkin-bu5hename a better one then.
@@XUM4NGhost of Tsushima
@@XUM4N Ninja Gaiden
@@XUM4N Devil May Cry
Happy to see Bulletstorm on this list, that’s an awesome game that doesn’t get enough love
Mannnn I had so much fun with it back in the day, some of those kills were wild if you can pull em off! And radio controlling a sniper round directly into a mutants 'nads is so satisfying too
Found Bulletstorm on clearance for like a year ago. Decided to try it since I heard it was pretty good. No regrets!!!
that's funny because the full version of the game came out recently for VR. All the reviews are super negative
@@The6houl It's a relic of consoles past and probably doesn't equate well to VR but the original game is still a blast
@@The6houl Who gives a shit about VR, only like 10% of all gamers have that shit.
Nioh and Nioh 2 when you play it like a Team Ninja game instead of a Fromsoft game, it genuinely feels awesome. Flashy moves, stance dancing, comboing weapons. The best perk they ever added was the bonus damage when you use different abilities, made you play with finesse.
Yeah. When you have mastered the two weapons you carry, and can combine them back to back, you truly become a Nioh.
Woolong better or worse Combat wise?
@@ReadyF0RHeady Combat Wise would be a mixture of Nioh 2 and Sekiro Shadows Die Twice.
Surprised Control isn't here.
Even with the apparent repetition of "gun until empty then launch", that loop was so GD satisfying despite the fact, and the way your violence delivery systems were tied into setting and lore, I'd say it was some of the best combat ever.
Absolutly, it's a crime that it's missing from this list
Control was sooo awesome!!
That game sucked tbh
@@liberationpocket7950 100%
Always a good day when Sifu is mentioned
I cant express how amazing it felt when the combat in Sekiro clicked for me. The game went from seemingly impossible to exciting as i looked forward to each boss instead of trying to find ways to cheese them
I really had fun playing Control, towards the end i brought chaos and hell on the hiss.
I expected Just Cause 3 to be number 1. I don't like first person shooters but this one is so much fun. Having a open world, a forgiving combat system, when dying you only have to restart from a close by checkpoint, and so much weapons and options. Drive any vehicle, car / motor / helicopter/ plane or tank. Use the hook and rocket thing on your back. And beautifull explosios and action.
Isn't Just Cause a third person shooter?
Yes but unlike most it is so much fun @@JohnClam
@user-su9mq9uj9s I am with you on this my go to shooter is Borderlands. Too many shooters are the same. Might try out Helldivers.
DMC5 is better than JC3 wdym lmao, it would be #5 at best
@@rundown132 hell nah lmao
Metal Hellsingers. Something just absolutely fun slaying demons to the beat of metal music
Ghost of Tsushima is a proper AAA title; not only is the core gameplay loop addictive, but the entire narrative and presentation of the game is so refined that you just can't stop playing. And the story is :chef's kiss:
Saving Gotham by crippling henchmen is peak
GOW 3
MGS Revengance
AC Odyssey
God Hand
Prototype
Sleeping Dogs
THESE are "insane" combat games
glad that you mentioned DMC , it's a really hard game when you try to pull it off, just learning the movesets will take you a lot of time, not to mention the trophies
Doom eternal is definitely one of my all time favorite games. I absolutely love the combat. If anyone wishes to get into it, one big tip I highly recommend when playing Doom Eternal is to ALWAYS keep moving when in combat. No matter what, keep moving because depending on the difficulty, level, and what demons you are fighting, they can crowd you in seconds and you will be dead in seconds.
Pretty much the mantra for the Quake and Doom series.
@@brodriguez11000 True
I always loved the Prototype games. They really made you feel like a god!
AC3 was honestly one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played
Yeah, until i started doing optional objectives
@@ABadassDragonthis is something I started realizing in games. I always thought I should get my money's worth and do everything, but that burns you out so badly
@@TeeJGoBlue yup. I always 100% most of the games i played. Hell, i enjoyes most, but these days, not so much and yet i still do it
isnt that game super boring and too much "on rails"?? the combat is braindead easy too
@@ABadassDragon exactly lol. It's definitely torture in some games
I think one that deserves an honorable mention in the list is Cyberpunk 2077, the amount of times I took out entire rooms of enemies like a one man army, blocking and returning bullets to enemies
You should've mentioned the most unique fighting game that is For Honor; Anti ganking 4 people with Revenge and killing them all makes your Adrenaline shoot all the way up
The thing I most like in Sekiro is that you have the feeling you are dominating the enemy when you get a grasp of the fight. The parry and thunder mechanics are very flashy and I don't think I ever got out of a fight feeling I just got lucky to beat the boss (maybe the last boss, but I still think I earned it lol)
Yep.
Button mashing won’t get you very far. Even being good often isn’t enough.
A player has to be very good to get it done.
Eventually you realize Isshin was telling you the truth: staying face to face with your opponent is the best way to play. Full posture bars are the norm.
Hesitation is defeat.
Assassin's creed 3 is one of my comfort games alongside rdr2 and dying light. It's such an underrated AC game in the community. Great video 👍
I think the Dynasty Warriors series deserves an honorable mention. The combat may be simplistic, but you definitely feel unstoppable as you toss piles of enemies into the air over and over again!
Would love to see a part 2 with Ninja Gaiden Black
Came here hoping to see OG 360 NG2. Wipes the floor with most of these games listed.
Was so waiting to see where Prototype would be on this list
Leap Day Double! Thanks Gameranx!
I'm currently playing Ghost of Tsushima for the first time, and one thing that irks me a little is that if I'm in the middle of swinging my sword at someone, if another guy comes in with their axe/spear and the little red indicator comes up to dodge, even if I hit the dodge button, it's as if my slashing move still carries out which disables me being able to dodge during that time, so it feels a little punishing in that sense. As for the sword and shield guys, I swear their windup before striking is mere milliseconds, getting a perfect parry with those guys definitely requires some practice!
Kinda bummed that Returnal didn't make the list. Maybe I'm wrong on that call but some of the runs could be pretty impressive.
Surprised that none of the GOW games are this list.
Yeah, not putting GOW is a war crime
Ikr how can they put ac3 up here but not GOW
Did they just delete my comment?
Maybe the old gow games but the new ones... Nah
@@TheUltimateHacker007they’re the best ones lol
What also helps AC3 (and GoT to some extent) is the fantastic combat music. 'Trouble in Town' is one of the most kickass tunes in the franchise.
What i love about dmc is that the characters are nearly lore accurate, so you actually feel powerful
Shadow of war/Mordor should be on here, it isn't hard to learn but so satisfying
You need a part 2....
Vanquish, Crackdown, Star Wars Force Unleashed I/II, Prototype, MGS Revengeance, just to name a few
and Dynasty warriors
Add Ultrakill
Add God Of War 3, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Asura’s Wrath
Vanquish had some very cool moments. Especially with the sliding mechanic
arkham knight in new game plus is one of the most satisfying combat experiences i’ve had in a game. when you get so accustomed to the combat system that you can intuitively counter, dodge, use the right gadgets on the right enemies, knife parries and take down 25 enemies without taking a single hit. so insane.
RE4 Remake may deserve a spot on this list. It was so satisfying to parry an axe, pop off a couple of headshots, toss a grenade, and finish off with a round house kick, ya know?
Earth Defense Force. To protect humanity, you literally blowing up aliens by the hundreds, with an arsenal from small arms to orbital bombardment to giant mechs literally punching godzilla on the face.
It almost make Helldiver 2 feels tame.
To protect our mother earth from any alien attack
from vicious giant insects who have once again come back
we'll unleash all our forces we won't cut them any slack
The EDF Deploys.
Risk of rain 2 with command artifact gets absolutely wild with some of the crazy builds you can come up with. Shadow of Mordor at high ranks also comes to mind. Crackdown too. And a final shout out to superhot, that can make you feel like neo when done right. Great video as always fellas.
I love good power fantasy in games. like i love a challenge, especially early, but i love when by the end, you just feel like a god. Infamous, Prototype, Borderlands, even things like Far Cry and Souls games. it starts out tough (more in some than others ofc), but by the time you're geared, specced, and practiced, you feel like a god.
Batman Arkham???
Sleeping Dogs!!
I feel showcasing some combat montage clips for some games would have been nice to get a feel for the potential of what can be in the game.
Pro player clips in doom eternal are mesmerizing.
One of the things I like about DMC is the progress game after game; they're similar enough to be comfortable but different enough to keep being fun. It's sort of the same way I feel about Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. I can always pick up any game in the series and not be completely overwhelmed because enough stays the same that I can get through, and that can keep me going while I figure out the new stuff as well.. I could skip titles easily and jump back in with Ryu or Scorpion and feel right at home, and DMC gives a similar experience to that.
*Thanks for 0 like and 0 subscribers* 😊
Subed ken
😂
Ghost of Tsushima Lethal Mode enemy AI are so aggressive that they consecutively attack you but when you also do consecutive perfect parries, it's oh so satisfying.
honorable mentions/part 2 sugestions:
elden ring - I mean, just watch bushy or other tryhards playing, it literally looks like they cannot be harmed while playing
superhot - this one is easy to master and you look super cool while playing, I myself got to 99 kills on endlessmode and I have never felt so much like a god
hellblade senuas sacrifice - the combat is super flashy and satisfying, the bridge is super challenging and all the bossfights manage to make you feel like a boss.
final fantasy 12 zodiac - maybe thats just me but crafting the perfect party and then having them slaying bosses with minimal effort has given me some of the most badass feelings Ive ever felt.
skyrim / morrowind - yeah obviously, those 2 in the lategame are the definition of powerfantasy.
ac odyssey / shadows of war - both games have the nemesis system and a really similar way to craft builds (with equipments and such) and on both beating the nemesis after a 50 minutes fight is extremely satisfying, and both games you feel like literally a god.
saints row 3 - I NEED A HEROOOO IM HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO TIL THE MORNING LIGHT
(also "power" blasting while you raid the penthouse bro this game is amazing)
vampire survivors - dont sleep on this one, its the ultimate "you are a god/lawn mower" simulator and you feel every bit of dopamine.
Would of loved seeing Army of Two on here. The interplay with your partner made for a really fun and unique experience in terms of the gameplay.
Those back to back moments were so fun if you were playing coop with a friend, I’d love to see the army of two series make a comeback. Those were some really fun games.
Even with Kanye and lynch!! Those where the good ol days!
the best split screen games ever
I saved up for months to buy a 360 and Army of Two. When I finally got it, my brother and I played it for weeks. Good times.
AC3 was a phenomenal game. Best story line of any of the ac games.
AC2 has entered the chat and become Admin.
@@S1lverArr0w it was good, but not as good as AC3...facts homie, accept it. You just got admin'ed an ass whoopin.
@@RumpleStiltzkin-bu5he AC2's story is objectively better. I should have made it clear that I wasn't stating an opinion.
but it has that mass effect 3 style ending that ruins it
@Spillow-C how?
As always, great video Falcon. Before I even started this video I knew Sekiro would be near the top. Once you master the combat mechanics, there isn’t a more satisfying experience on the market! Bravo 😊
TRUE I think DOOM 2016 was MUCH more enjoyable especially during longer sessions tbh, if they make another I hope they go in between the two
Watching a Sekiro master is pretty much appreciating a real-time anime coming to life. Once you get good at it it's soo satisfying it becomes addicting.
3:05 Raise your hand if you scored a headshot on an enemy while the building was collapsing! 🙋🏾♂️
Mantis blades from Cyberpunk, especially with the Relic tree perks from Phantom Liberty ; coupled with a Sandevistan to jump from one enemy to the other ! If those don't make you feel like an absolute badass, nothing will !
I know that Hellblade was very simple, but man was it satisfying to feel Senua merk the Northmen.
I was going to comment on this, particularly right at the end, but wasn't sure if you could really class it as a combat game.
Katana Zero deserves a spot as well. So satisfying clearing a room with your different time abilities, and then getting the sped up version at the end to show how you undeniably obliterated everyone in the room.
What I liked about Katana Zero is what at the beginning, I was spamming the slow down a lot, but at later levels, I was just playing the game with barely any slow down. It was cool as hell, because you kinda developed a sense of what enemies could do and when to slash bullets/people.
Good list and well deserved for all games on it. I myself would add the various Warriors games here as well.
Really though MGS Revengance was going to be here, but can’t complain about what was. Love this channel to much!
Metal gear rising revengeance was one I was expecting but all were good! Great video gameranx.
You use to mention the compatibility of the game's with, please don't stop using it, it help me knowing whether games are available for pc or not.
Thank you are the best❤❤
I feel like the Nioh games should have made an appearance here. Once you unlock the right skills, hammer in your build, and get enough practice you can just dominate even the toughest bosses.
Sifu on PS5 (free this month with PS+) uses the DualSense haptics so well, every hit feels great, not only that but it’s an incredible game.
I'm amazed that Superhot isn't on here, as a VR game it really makes you feel like a fighting god.
When i see bulletstorm in this list i feel so good. Its a game me and my son enjoy playing a lot. Bulletstorm needs a part 2!
I can't believe you could make a list like this and NOT include Dishonored! A game I know you are very fond of as well!
2 videos nice. Gameranx team working hard.
X Men Origins Wolverine still feels great and you feel unstoppable in it
Nice. Double Falcon upload!!
The older God of War games not being on this list is a travesty😂
The entire Batman Arkham series had some of the most OP & fluid combat styles I’ve ever seen or played!
Also the Running motion in AC 3 is just *chef kiss
I will never get over how badass I feel when I approach a gang in Arkham knight and they just run away, feels so cool
idk how NIOH 2 didnt make it atleast somewhere on this list. one of the best combat systems ive ever seen.
Max Payne also had a super fun and unrated MP that I put a lot of time into.
hey gameranx thanks for the video im adding this to my liked videos🙂🙂👍👍
Hey
@@gameranxTV You guys miss putting videos in playlist sometimes.
A couple of VR games I like for this exact reason are : Bullet Sorrow VR and Blade and Sorcery. Both great if you have a VR headset and a lot of energy.
Kind of want to get a vr rig just to be active while gaming
This is a list of some of my favorite games of all time. I’d also add FF7 Remake, Nier: Automata and Hi-Fi Rush. Not overly complicated but a lot of fun when you come to grips with the mechanics.
Bulletstorm is easily one of the most fun games I've ever played in over 35 years of gaming. I started with Pole Position on Atari 👴
Vanquish should be on this list. It's the only game I've played where you can take out a boss in just a few well-placed hits and the right weapon (all without your suit overheating).
Watching this as I play Armored Core VI 😂
Can confirm it gets insane quite often
Personal honourable mentions: John Woo's Stranglehold and recently I just finished Tales of Arise and that combat system is beautifully done.
Kingdom Hearts 2, the Darkness 2, and Conker's Bad Fur Day's multi-player all made me feel godlike.
I certainly would have put Jedi Outcast/Academy on this list. Once you master the force powers in that game, it becomes so fun.
I ended armored core 6 2 months ago and I will say that it is the best fast paced and mech game I ever played and thank you for collecting these games in a list for viewers.
Those who also like armored core 6 and want to give thanks press like comment or press video like button
Hell yeah loved the bullet storm reference super fun game
Max Payne 3. Funniest line he says is, I got shot on my second best drinking arm lol
Sweet, two videos today.
Hell yeah.
Brotherhood with the Assassins helping you out is great. Factorio towards the end as well. Savage Quest when killing the hoards of humans. Ninja Gaiden, some of the Total War games, etc.
👍
I haven't played any AC past Unity, but among the ones I've played AC3 definitely has the best combat.
Hilariously, I haven't really played any before Black Flag. Not a fan of Stealth Games. Not my jam. I liked Odyssey. Black Flag I'd prefer the Odyssey Combat.
Infamous Second Son made me feel like a real badass! Loved it. Finnished it recently ❤
Bulletstorm is one of the most underrated FPS’s ever. Shame we’ll never get a sequel.
No god of war(2018) or Ragnarok here? Some CZcamsrs have truly shown what the games mechanics can do if correctly used!
