Hey hey! So 1) you don’t really have to bathe your crestie. But if you do I suggest using clean water. NOT TAP WATER. just put them in a little container with little water(up to their toes) with a paper towel. This helps with shedding.2) I don’t suggest taking your crestie outside. They are jumpy animals and it could be a HUGE risk of it jumping away. But you can always take a temporary tank thing out there for a few min.3) some good products are the Pangea, basically any plant decor, eco earth, exo terra tanks.

Leopard Gecko he won’t eat insects, did when he was small but no interest now.. just has a a bad attitude. I handled him often as a youngster but the older he got the meaner he became. Probably wants a girlfriend but he is out of luck lol
I just ordered the final tank upgrade for my little one. She’ll be six months old on the 21st! I got her when she was just a wee little baby, but she’s been growing at a steady rate. I love the way her little sticky feet feel on my hands and I love watching her hunt down her crickets. They remind me of tiny, dorky little dragons. So cute!
As for too much UV exposure, they won't carry on creating D3 if over exposed to it. I too thought the same as you, but after studying appears I was wrong. So you can still use a shade dweller and supplement D3 😄

I like the pangea biodegradable food cups because you can just pop those in the soil and let the cleanup crew care for them or throw them away without feeling guilty for creating plastic trash
Love the presentation and I love your shopping list. . I have been doing allot of research on crested geckos as I am getting one soon. Your the only one that had mentioned that they need uvb as allot of my research has indicated that there diet is sufficient. Only time they recommend uvb is for bio active. Also the census seems to be a temp between 16-27 c seems to be sufficient with no external heating required. But the important thing is to keep the temp stable where ever it’s at. Thanks again!
A fellow you tuber went to see if we were keeping crested geckos the correct way so he went to the wild and saw that actually in the wild it’s 82 during the day and 78 at night so saying room temperature is not accurate unless your house is above 75 and humidity was at 80 so yup. After watching your video and noticing that my crested was acting slow and not eating much in winter I put a ceramic heater and now she’s back to her normal self

I use distilled water for misting. No more water spots, crystal clear glass. For those who say distilled water is bad if they lick it, I say why? Rain water is not that different from distilled. Besides, the lizard gets most of his minerals etc from food. Although, I also do keep a small water cup with the feeding ledge and use tap water (with proper water treatment drops) for that. Been misting my growing Crested (in a bioactive terrarium with live plants) with distilled water for almost a year, and he and the plants are doing fine.
I would love to see a video of the best way to handle baby/juvenile crested geckos? As well as how to best approach handling them. Thanks for the awesome video!
If your looking for a timer for your misting system timer . I use the hive smart plug as you can turn it on and off from your phone and set it as a timer in seconds. I used it for my frog when I went on holiday and it worked perfectly
I made a misting system and used a Geyser timer u can set it in seconds think I ran 8sec for system I built and you can set it to come on multiple times a day, they very cheap available from any electrical supply store
Yes! More cresty vids. I know you use terrariums & go the bioactive route. But would it be too much to challenge you to make an enclosure out of a plastic tub? Explain the pros/cons to both kinds of enclosures. Like plastic tubs dont get water buildup issues, maintain humidity, easier for new owners etc. If you do please let people know our arboreal geckos dont belong in 6qt tubs. Or maybe another video where you judge our enclosures. I would love to know your opinion of mine. You could maybe touch on how its possible to provide a heat gradient with tubs with a heat pad regulated by a thermostat etc.

Witch would be better for lighting, a uvb light or a reglaur heating light, with uvb light my crested geckos temp is always stays the same, but with the reglaur heating light her temp is always going to high, and thats a worry bc somtimes i'll be in school so i wont be home for hours and i dont want her getting to hot.
I never thought about the synthetic D3 in the diets. Now I'm freaking out a little. What about the ones that dont say complete diet? Or would those ones be lacking in other nutrients they need?
Maybe a bit late but here is my answer , uhm im a new crested gecko owner but i think that the ones that say complete diet are the right ones....i think the others is something like a treat...when i bought my gecko they told me to chose one of the complete diets , so i got Repashy Complete Diet with banana flavour.
What I was, and am still worried about is a D3 overdose. If the gecko can and does make its own D3 with the use of UVB and is also on a "complete diet" with synthetic D3 will that be too much D3? Not to mention dusting feeder insects with a multivitamin with synthetic D3
@@sarahchubb353 uhm , to be honest i rearly see putting uvb to a crested gecko , since they dont really need it ( like a bearded dragon for example ) , so they get all their vitamins from the complete diets. Personally i just have a regular exo terra Lamp 25W , nothing special just a lamp in case of a really cold day , and a heating mat on the side of the terrsrium just in case of a really cold night , so yeah , also the breeder witch i got my crestie ( this guy is a serious expert , he has a pet shop only for reptiles and he haa thousands of reptiles and experience with them ) never told me anything about uvb
@@sarahchubb353 again im no expert , but ive done a lot of research and asked maaany people witch are experts ( currently i have me very first crested gecko , a baby one ) so i suggest no uvb , just a regular lamb , also if your lamb is your choice for heating , i have a 25W basking spot lamb as I mentioned ALWAYS conmected to a thermostat since the temperature can get too hot , witch is really not good for the crestie , to sum up 1) take a Complete crested gecko diet 2) Uvb is not needed 3) if you feed your crestie insects of course dust them Again im no expert , im just trying to help 🦎✌️😅

In my local reptile shops they also will only sell you a crested gecko if you have a UVB light!

I have a 90x90x45 viv for my crestie. Took a few weeks for her to get used to her new habitat, but is using full space
Is the 45cm the height? Adult cresties need a minimum of 60cm of height.

raNyA I personally spot clean weekly, if you have an enclosure on the smaller side you might want to do it more. I deep clean her enclosure monthly!

An easy way to prevent water stains on the glass is to use distilled water for spraying. It has no minerals in so leaves no stains.
Is a 18x18x24 glass terrarium okay for an adult crested gecko?

When you say deep heat peojector is it equivalent with a ceramic heat emitter? When i search for deep heat projector thats all i get.

Maybe a bit late but here is my answer , uhm im a new crested gecko owner but i think that the ones that say complete diet are the right ones....i think the others is something like a treat...when i bought my gecko they told me to chose one of the complete diets , so i got Repashy Complete Diet with banana flavour.

What I was, and am still worried about is a D3 overdose. If the gecko can and does make its own D3 with the use of UVB and is also on a "complete diet" with synthetic D3 will that be too much D3? Not to mention dusting feeder insects with a multivitamin with synthetic D3
@@sarahchubb353 uhm , to be honest i rearly see putting uvb to a crested gecko , since they dont really need it ( like a bearded dragon for example ) , so they get all their vitamins from the complete diets. Personally i just have a regular exo terra Lamp 25W , nothing special just a lamp in case of a really cold day , and a heating mat on the side of the terrsrium just in case of a really cold night , so yeah , also the breeder witch i got my crestie ( this guy is a serious expert , he has a pet shop only for reptiles and he haa thousands of reptiles and experience with them ) never told me anything about uvb
@@sarahchubb353 again im no expert , but ive done a lot of research and asked maaany people witch are experts ( currently i have me very first crested gecko , a baby one ) so i suggest no uvb , just a regular lamb , also if your lamb is your choice for heating , i have a 25W basking spot lamb as I mentioned ALWAYS conmected to a thermostat since the temperature can get too hot , witch is really not good for the crestie , to sum up
1) take a Complete crested gecko diet
2) Uvb is not needed
3) if you feed your crestie insects of course dust them
