Mr. Gene ever since I came across your videos I have learned a lot of techniques. I started back fishing about 6 months ago after a 20 year absence from the sport. Had to work and no play taking card of a family and kids are grown and gone now. So now I can start back what I loved before and didn't know how much things have changed but with your videos has made it easier to transition back to loving this sport again. Thank you Mr Gene

I ‘m in southeastern Alabama and usually panfish for brim and bluegill. Haven’t done much crappie fishing but your videos are very educational and I really enjoy watching them.
Watching your vid's from about a year ago, so I can get ready for this year! You are hands down the best fisherman I have witnessed! No kidding. You know fishing. Thanks for sharing. I made a big order including ultimate jig heads and a score of Bobby Garland soft plastics. Good as any. I hope they help you out.
Mr. Gene you da MAN! Enjoy your channel!
Mr Gene, Just want to thank you for your awesome video's. A lot of your views on fishing for crappie are the same like my father has past down to me & you remind me of him. Even thou we are on both sides of this great country, your east coast we are west coast catching fish is the same. I find your video's to be very enjoyable. Your channel I believe in my personal opinion will result in great success!!! God be with you sir!
Sir you are a helluva crappie fisheman. Like your videos. I fish Guntersville myself. You sure hammered em that day.

I love watching your channel. I have learned so much from just watching you. Thanks for the inspiration.
I do this down in Texas and this is something that a man never gets tired of doing and if you do get tired of it you wouldn't meant to fish this is so much fun and very profitable for food we have a half mile long bridge in Conroe Texas 1097 that bridge is lit up with crappie catfish as well you just got to find the thermocline and where them bad boys are hanging I've been a aggressive saltwater fisherman my whole life but fishing for Crappie is a love that no one could understand unless they have done it great video thank you for posting
This is it. FINALLY :D I've recently found your channel and absolutely love it. So much so that I've decided to watch all of your videos from the very start. (I'm a security guard, I get a lot of down time at work lol) Was not a fan of the mounted cam on the boat in all the videos before this one though. But this is the first one with the chest mount :D
I'm 62 and me and fish a lot alike.I have learned a lot from u.Thanks' a lot..Roland

From Kentucky love your videos brother
Thanks so much Tyler!
I’m here to tell you Richard if that about Elmo is for laughs you don’t need it. You’re a hell of a fisherman now don’t let that go to your head, I mean a lot of the tips you tell us I used 40 years ago. I love to go crappie fishing see I’m from Ohio and all the time I was growing up I’d go crappie fishing and I mean I would catch big ones but then people got greedy and stupid and would keep little 2 inch ones because they didn’t have a size limit on them so the crappie almost disappeared in most of the lakes in Ohio. Now they have a size limit on them for about 3 or 4 years now so I might go fish for some when I go back to visit. So you don’t need a crutch like Elmo, but if your having fun with it go ahead, but I like the fishing part so keep the videos coming 👍
I hope Elmo’s wife don’t break his nose those beautiful fish you catch I got hungry watching you throw back in the water ha ha
400 Subscribers...??? You've definitely come a long way sincethen. Right now you have 268,000 Subscribers and growing! I hope that makes you feel amazing about what you're doing! Keep up the great content and God Bless

I need to learn how to use the sonar and learn what they look like. I have a hummingbird with fish ID and other features but I can't tell, shad from drum from white bass, from crappie or whatever. Crappie mostly hang out around some type of structure?

Man you get me Hyped about SLAB FISHING pretty crappies my man keep up the good work and if you dont will you do a video on your opinion on the acc crappie stick when you have the time im interested in them would like to know your opinion
Thank you Ryan! I absolutly love the acc crappie stix and would highly reccomend!
Around the 15:40 mark you mentioned something about changing colors. What makes you decide to change colors? Just getting less bites? Also what do you do to determine what color to use?
Yes getting fewer bites is why i decide to change. Chartruse, red , pink, purple, and white are highly visible in "stained" water conditions. When the bites slow down I change between these colors. It helps to force a few more bites off the same school of fish that you have located. Thank you for watching my video DrZiggyzoo!
just subbed. those slabs would look real good dressed in cornmeal with a hot oil bath. Lol
Thank you Richard and you got that right! goooood eatin!
I really enjoy your videos sir. I live in north Mississippi where I fish the tenn - tom waterway. You are a working man fisherman like me.
I was wondering what's the knot you use to tie you jigs on with?
I use a loop knot. I like it cause it allows the jig to move more free. Thank you for watching my videos Daniel!
Toledo Bend tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. Crappie fishing, with a cigerette. Great video by the way.
Good luck Randy!
I see sometimes u r pulling ur jig back up to the head me and my Dad learn somthing we go ahead and get super glue with a brush in it and set up a bunch of them put glue on the barb part on the lead close to the head put ur jigs on helps to save torn or falling off jigs every little bit helps when ur fishing Nice fish by the way and good luck on ur next trip
Thanks Chad. I also do the same I've been doin it for about the past 6years. After i catch a certian amount of fish it comes loose though. It's a very good trick to know. Thank you Chad and good luck on your next trip as well!
Chad Riner if you like crappie fishing (and I also need subs) swing over and help me out to 1000subs . Help the little guys out. Much appreciated
@Alabama Crappie Adventures They absolutely do smell the glue. If you use glue, you need to use some attractant. I have been doing this tech for about the last 35 years and it is a great way to slay them. It works on about all lakes with bridges, especially if they have current.
nice , what kind of jig and lure you were using?
Thank you Albert! I was using a 2in bobby garland baby shad
I gotta admit you sure do look and act more like a professional compared to when you first started out doing this video stuff. Those sideburns were hideous! Lol But don't lose your silly self and goofyness!!!! Thanks again Richard Gene!!
Good job Richard, I always enjoy your videos. Was there some brush at this location and would you have caught as many at this location without the cold front coming threw ?
There was no brush at this location I was just fishing around bridge columns. Cold fronts make it harder to catch fish, so I would have caught more easier without coldfront. Thank you for watching Ronald!
Ronald Phillips if you like crappie fishing (and I also need subs) swing over and help me out to 1000subs . Help the little guys out. Much appreciated
