Thanks for sharing this video! !! I watched it this in my stand morning and mimicked it and with some luck and my hands free doe bleat I harvested the best buck that I have gotten.
Awesome video, thank you so much for uploading! A tip for those using a 'can' style bleat call. Drill a hole in the back/bottom of it(opposite side of the holes) and blow through it, rather than turning the can. A much more accurate reproduction and more control
Thanks for the comments. The deer on camera is definitely the deer calling. You guys are right, this is a fawn. If I remember correctly, this was mid-late December. As most of you guys know, many fawns are bred late season. She was the best bait in the woods that day.
Several years ago I was hunting in an area overloaded with Does. I took one with a bow opening day. For the next several days I hunted about 3 more times in that stand and each day the fawn would come by looking and bleating for its mother. I felt bad because I had never seen that before. I wait until late November, early December now before taking a doe.
I wouldn't feel too bad about it. Deer being a heard animal...another doe family unit will take that fawn in. Only time I don't shoot is when I see a doe with a fawn that still has spots real early in the season.
I've seen that too. Last season, I hit the bleat caller and this poor fawn came running in looking for its mother. I hadn't shot her, so I dunno where she was. I won't shoot a doe that has a fawn with it in early season either if they are alone. If there's a large group where you can't tell who is who, then I might, but then any fawn is already part of the herd. Some does seem to stay solitary with their fawns around here. The fawn will be okay and take up with another doe, but it seems harsh. I'd rather shoot some spikes early, little defective deer that they are. Or a giant buck, but I'm still looking for him ;)
Spikes could be a buck with bad genes, but the majority of the time it was just born late in the season or from a really young doe. Most spikes will grow to be great looking deer in a few years.
She might be in estrus (or ready to be bred), ultimate buck attractor right there. And yes, it is possible for some fawns to go into estrus and to get bred by a buck.
Lookin for its mom. I called in a doe one day in early bow season by making about 6 or 7 bleats. she had apparently lost track of her fawn and came in running and ran circles around my stand lookin for it.
She is looking for other deer. I do a vocal call and it works every time to pull deer out of the woods. Last was a herd of eight. Was blessed to bring home the 7 point that came out last. The sound I make is a “meeennnt” sound.
This is litle one looking for momma, not doe bleat as in mature doe /rut/ seeking other deer as evening starts, not sure what bleating for momma gets you unless a doe had a fawn hit by a car and she's looking. Deer know eachother's scent, voice, patterns, very unlikely to have success. I've hit a grunt and had an 8 walk 150 yards out of dense cover into woods, rattled in a lot of all sizes, bleat canned a doe last week, never had success with primos bleat grunt tubes except for grunt feature, hit it once and that is IT, otherwise you are only scaring them off. Rattling you can repeat every 2 hours for 20 minute intervals 2-3x, then give it a rest. Deer know all.
that's actually a fawn and it's a fawn distress call, it's call to it's momma
Yes it is

Right on thank you
U are spot on
I'm thinking that's the fawn bleating for the doe captured on camera.
+buckhunter adk Nope, that is the bleat of the fawn looking for the mother shown in the video.
That’s a fawn not a doe
@@weldhub2738 I dunno. No characteristic spots or short torso of a new fawn.
@@weldhub2738 Its a fawn, but you are correct that he used a edited fawn bleat.
Yup, fawn bleat.
That doe is not the one making the sound. You can clearly see that deer does NOT have a bleat call in it's mouth! 😁
That is really great and useful video. Any suggestions for Mule Deer doe bleat sounds? Thanks! Chris.
Never actually got to hear one make the bleat in its own natural habitat, Gonna help me mimic the noise with my calls now, Thanks for uploading.
That's what I was thinking I called a buck in this morning for fun
That deer is what I like to call a "This year's model." Dumber than a box of rocks too.
Atleast it's better than birds loudly mocking you at 4:00 am in the morning
and weird bear-things grunting in the middle of the night
Haha lol ha right
Megan Clun ikr
Thats bigfoot you are hearing grunting and growling at night
that's a yearling looking for her momma whom is probably in heat and with a buck.
Fornicating lol
That's amazing... Never heard one do that before
Cool video! Thanks for uploading!
That’s a fawn calling for momma
Ik

That deer definitely caught your ground scent
Cool video this verifies that the can sounds just like that!
Awesome video!
I’m glad my deer know about autozones latest deals. Wouldn’t want them to miss out😂😂😂👍👍👍
I was gonna say, definitely a deer calling, but looks like a button buck
looks like fawn more of a fawn bleat
Best decoy on the market lol

Awesome! Talkative ain't she!!!
Fantastic !!!!
do adult deer call that much or just once every few minutes?
Mr. Nice about every 15-30 minuets
Lookin for its mom. I called in a doe one day in early bow season by making about 6 or 7 bleats. she had apparently lost track of her fawn and came in running and ran circles around my stand lookin for it.
That wasn't a doe bleat, it was a baby deer looking for it's mother.
Awesome video.
sounds like shes calling for her mamma
She is looking for other deer. I do a vocal call and it works every time to pull deer out of the woods. Last was a herd of eight. Was blessed to bring home the 7 point that came out last. The sound I make is a “meeennnt” sound.
Wow thank u for sharing that's cool
been hunting public land deer never heard a deer make a call in its habitat but.the power buck doe call is cheap and effective
excellent video...
fawn bleating calling its mama
almost sounds like a cat.
I heard one today at around 4:30 in Minnesota before sunset. Is it normal for them to do this in November during rutt? I'm a beggenner hunter.
It had a lower pitch tone to it though.
+Gerigotnogame yes! it is breeding season in fall-winter
When was the doe going to bleat didnt hear it at all. Are you sure that you didnt fart
Fawn bleats
Def a fawn bleat
Never ever do a drawn out estrus bleat always do short burst. The long drawn out one is actually a warning call
Trying to find her momma..
That's NOT a bleat. That's a fawn looking for it's mom.
Fawn distress call...someone must been new to hunting
Thanks for your reply. You’re wrong...but thanks.

Are you with somebody else. Or just trying to forget me.

Why do they bleat?
Is she calling for a mom or is it a estrus bleat?
Austin Dietiker mom to small to be in estrus
