A Carrot and Turnip Soup From 1817

A supper served up from the 1817 publication of The Cook's Oracle. A soup that consists of simple ingredients found still in the Novembers of Missouri yet it is substantial for even the hungriest of men. I added cayenne as recommended. Would be suitable with bread.
