Your comments have informed me that the word "Titan" is actually "Titian" (pronounced "TISH-un"). I've been using it wrong this whole time! 🤪Thanks to all you experts for enlightening me! That's why I love this community.

I think i have been saying it wrong too 😂😂😂 if you look it up online searching titian hair, the little sound bite that says the word pronounces it ti shun with a short i sound. The description of the color is interesting.

I think you made out well RE price. Nice case. The Midge is the real star of that set to me since she's in her original box. Those Ken outfits look to be in good condition. I think that thing you thought might be wheels was actually a hand weight for Ken. Just the hangers go for $2 each often. The Bubble Cut is very pretty and I love that Ken. My sister had one like that. Love your enthusiasm and your kindness to that lady. I hope her dog is feeling better!

I think this lot is "worth" $200 for sure. You've got three nice vintage dolls, several original Ken outfits, a nice case, and a bunch of homemade fashions that are themselves from the vintage era. A lot of collectors scoff at "mommy made" clothing, but I've always had a special place in my heart for such garments. Every time I get them in lots, I keep them, launder them, and treat them just as well as my Mattel vintage items. Some of the fashions I have were made by quite skilled sewists, and they were made with love for a child, which I think is beautiful and sweet. I think those are the best items in your haul, personally.
I would carefully remove the earrings on your Bubblecut, and use a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol to clean away the surface residue near the earring holes, on the outside and the inside of the doll's head. Alcohol shouldn't disturb the doll's original paint, but try not to get it near the paint anyway, sometimes that paint can be fragile and it looks like it's in nice condition now. The dolls look nice and clean, but gently wiping them down with a mild soap and water would probably spruce them up a bit. Great lot, and even though I have all of the these items several times over, I probably would have done the same as you.

I played with Barbie exactly the same years as you did, mid 70s until the early 80s.
I’m not stoked over the 50s or 60s Barbies at all. Anyway funny story, as a kid my neighbor Jill owned 1974 made to move Ken. We got so tired of him moving, when we played with him we placed him in a make shift wheel chair and there he sat. What can I say we were 9! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

A Barbie Body clarification that should but doesn't get talked about much.
If you don't count the Ballerina bodies all the dolls from 1971-1974 came in one of 2 bodies or using both bodies .
1- what i call flappers - used 1971-Present day (hand's fingers face front, palms back ) those bodies stand the test of time .
The Tan Lines Barbie body is an example .
2-The More prized bodies that used the talking Barbie arms .
for some reason those were made with materials that don't hold up so well and tend to have arms and legs break off over time .
but can be repaired by collectors who care .

Oh and ALSO 😅 Barbie dolls originally came in swimsuits because the whole POINT of the doll was to be what you wanted her to be 🤦🏽. She wasn’t down political icon she later became. “Doctor” Barbie… “Walmart” Barbie…. Mattel made all the money off the clothes. Back then the marketing was you had to keep coming back because you needed clothes for your doll. Now a days you buy a dressed doll and that’s it. It’s not as common to be able to buy great outfits for them. In Barbies early years it was common for a child to only have one or two dolls and have a wardrobe for them. Later the average number of dolls a kid had was like 7 or 8 dolls 😮😮😮

Happy New Year! I wanted to double check so did a little online research, because I think your Sun Lovin’ Malibu Barbie may be a body swap. I think the body is 100% a Sun Lovin’ Malibu Barbie body (because of the “peekaboo tan lines”) but she was never released (to my knowledge) with the OG Malibu Stacey face? But I could be wrong because you can sometimes get rarities where a factory has used up whatever parts were available and you will get variants with the different heads, but usually by the late 70s it was all Superstar all the time.🧴☀️👙
