People shit on Fashionistas a lot but they truly have some beautiful base dolls. I love the obvious diversity in skin tone, size, shape, etc but also the subtle differences like the nuances in nose, chin, etc sculpts. I would’ve liked Barbie a lot better if she were this diverse when I were a kid!
The purple neckline material on Fashionistas #207 is a 2x2 rib! I was shocked to see it since Mattel has only been finishing things with the overlocked hems or raw edges for SO long, looks like they are finally investing the budget into different finishes again!
The doll with the "Greek" face sculpt looks South Asian to me and I love that about her. There aren't many South Asian fashion dolls on the mainstream market. I love the new petite curvy body type. I hope they make a tall curvy as well.
I found this quite informative. I might purchase a couple. I like the Shani because she reminds me of Totally Hair Teresa. It would be nice for the play line dolls to have some articulation again. I'd be happy with the elbow and knee joints that the Cutie Reveal line have.

#206 is so pretty, I have her in my Amazon wish list. I finally received my #208 and love her so much. I named her Hope. When I was a kid, my school took us on a field trip to a handicapped school, and it was the first time I was exposed to Down syndrome kids. The school taught them a trade, and I thought it was neat, and since then, every time I see someone with Down syndrome, I always engage and talk with them . They are so sweet and friendly. They retain that child like innocence that adults sometimes lose as they grow up. Loved the video and reviews on dolls.
Also for anyone wondering Barbie fashionista #206 can use the wheelchair mtm body( I used #165). It basically is the same skin tone. It might be slightly more tan I still can’t tell honestly. It looks the same after you add freckles. From what I’ve been told any Millie mtm original bodies will work. The volleyball mtm barbie is a perfect match skin tone wise, but it’s a tall body. Again, I think they may be the same color, but they do work very well for the Shani doll or #206.
Mattel level up a little bit for the new fashionistas... Especially the clothes, it not paper texture and the less pixelation. Hoping Carlyle decide to use some of ken fashionistas head mold that only once produce

I want to get the Down Syndrome and Shani face ones. I want to make the Shani one's hair have even more crimps. I just bought Looks doll 10. I like Intergrity Toys dark skin dolls but don't want to pay over $100. She's a much cheaper alternative. Also got Tamika from the Looks line. My first petite I got her mainly because I have all these extra Rainbow High clothes.

I still think that the Barbie Fashionistas between 2010 and 2012 were the pinnacle of the doll line.
