Yeah... everytime Combined Arms DLC is on sale, i get a twitch to buy it, but after seeing how awful it looks, especially when compared to something like GHPC, or even SABOW, i'm cured of the impulse. The one thing that speaks for it is the variety of units you can control and the fact that it's a sandbox and you can create whatever mission you want. But i was always more interested in just setting up various situations and let them play out. And i can already do that in base DCS.
Also, the general low fidelity of the Combined Arms, and the fact it's no longer updated or worked on in any way in the end convinces me not to get it after all. Also, even on sale, for 18bucks it's still kinda on the expensive side for what it is. You're basically buying a UI for the already present ground vehicles. Unless they go back and actually work at it, i don't think it's worth the price.

Very uninformed “basic” guide. Press V to turn on gun stabilization and will continue to point at the same place until you move the turret, if you press L to lase a target and get range the gun will automatically adjust to hit the target at the returned range and if you track a moving target with your reticle while pressing L it will put automatic lead on the gun.
The pilots understanding of "combined arms" is very basic.
