    I'm running the mx52 that came on my yz250 for winter riding, 1 1/4 inch stud in each lug on the front, braking on hard arena ice I can ride on the front wheel withers the rear in the air , rear gets 1 stud on side lugs and 2 on each in the center. Foot of snow on the lake and 4th gear wheelies and drift turns are a blast. Come spring, dunlop at81 F
    And IRC ve33 gummy goin on the rear.

    Personally I love the pirelli xc mid soft. As an all rounder. But m hearing good things about the motoz.
    Have you guys ever put your tyre range on the scale ?
    As I’m a little guy I try to cut weight where ever I can especially unsprung weight and rotating mass.
    Hence I’d love the lightest tyres on my bike to pair with the tubliss system. Cheers

      @@rmatvmc Yea, me too, thanks again. But one more way you may be able to help is tell Yamaha how stupid they were to make the YZ250 so damn tall, and pissing everybody off under 5'10" who can't throw a leg over their bikes and sit on a sky scraper. These new bikes are freaks!! No wonder why our corner speed sucks like a Hoover. I have had 5 YZ's, and my last bike before this one, a 97KX250, was as tall as should have been made. It pisses me off that I have to spend some big bucks to lower it, in order to enjoy a ride. But at least the aftermarket guys can fix this crap. I am heavier now, and knew I would need new springs, but here it is, "Un-ride-able", as sits in my garage. What is with the bikes being so tall, (like all have the extra need of height because of valves on a head), and why don't you guys complain? These bikes suck. Take me back to the 70's. 80's or 90's.

    Maxxis IT desert is a good value. Decent traction with high durability. I run them with 4-7lbs w/tubeliss set up side walls hold up for the life of tread. Chinook Cheater tire disolved b4 my eyes, lasted maybe 10hrs. Hella traction but I don't particularly care for the process of changing tires so if you feel the same way I'd stay clear of that brand all together, they just don't hold up.

    Chase I have a question for you. I signed up for a local Enduro it had been dry in Georgia for a long time and right before the Enduro it rained 6 inches of rain and was raining race day. I have the Pirelli extra dry to int. on my bike and did not have time to change the tires. I gave up on the second section of 5 section. What is the best tire that can cover you in any situation. Thanks Steve

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 5 lety

      Steve, that is a great question. But here's the deal, there isn't any one tire that will cover you in any situation. There is always a give and take. But for enduro riding, and in those conditions, I'd maybe try out a hybrid style tire like the Arena Hybrid Gummy for Motoz, or the Kenda Equilibrium. These are the type of tire that we use for trails and enduro style riding and we love them. They use a softer compound that bites in just about every condition. For desert riding and deep sand they won't be the best (the give and take), but if you haven't tried a hybrid tire, definitely worth a go. Let us know if you have any other questions.-Chase

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 5 lety +1

      I just watched a video of this area and I think a sand tire like the MX12 would do great there. My only concern with a sand tire in that area is if you get into some rockier sections, you might have some chunking on the knobs. But a soft-intermediate would be just fine as well. The MX-33 or the starcross 5 soft would both be good tires for this area.-Chase

    I have a 1998 ktm 65, and I was wondering if anyone knew what tore I should get. I ride rocky muddy trails.

      The AT81 from Dunlop would be a good tire for that. For hard pack and rocks, I also like the bridgestone X40 tires. Good durability.

      Bridgestone 404 or Dunlop MX52 would be a nice tire for that bike.

      I've actually ran one of those before! For the price, it's a good tire. It doesn't have as much lean angle traction and some others, but it's not a bad tire at all. I think you'll like. I can't remember how the durability was. But you'll find that out soon enough. -Chase
