That’s a beauty… great demo!
🤘
SHHHHHHH******TTTTTTTTTTT HAHAHAHAHHAAHA! 🙌🙌🙌
☯️
Wanted to say the same…🤣 got the white one for me because I think its hot, but now i want the black one😅
go eat some Surströmming
I love that Jim designed it to be YOUR guitar that you can do whatever to/with rather than be his guitar that everyone recognizes. Since I got mine 4 years ago, it's got decals on it and some dings and finish wear, but it feels like my guitar rather than Jim's. Artist signature models should follow Jim Root's footsteps in making a unique workhorse that can belong to anyone.
His sigs really do grow with you. I agree with this sentiment.
True. A few years ago I had the first KoRn signature guitar. Its the heaviest sounding Ibanez they’ve ever made, any Ibanez collector will tell you. They are made out of mahogany like Root models. It had one problem, on the 12th fret there’s a big ass K7 logo. As much as I love the guitars sound, that big logo always made it feel like I was playing a KoRn guitar. So I finally just sold it. Iv had all 3 Root models. And narrowed it down to my favorite which is the Flat black Root Stratocaster. I put a flat black pickguard on it. So it’s even more flat black! Awesome sounding guitar. All the models are. The only Fenders made out of mahogany
Keith merrow did something like that for sometime with schecter and the Km Standards
Yeah, I bought a Synyster gates signature, I got it for a stupid good deal so I couldn't pass it up... I just hate all the logos all over the guitar.
@@DudeMcGuybro the Synyster Gates signature is probably the most signature signature guitar ever, it's basically signed all over it.
Even on the fretboard there's SYN written on it with the big A7X skull.
Apart from that it's a quality instrument.
Welcome home! Saw you guys in Portland. You KILLED it.
Flat satin black is awesome. It looks good in a lot of things. I saw a car the other day that had a similar flat black paint job and I could t stop checking it out.
Gorgeous. Sounds amazing
Picked on of these up back in March. Can't get over how amazing it truly is.
Awesome! Glad you're enjoying it!
Love those! Simple, gorgeous, and plays and sounds awesome 👌
Welcome back from the tour! Hope you kick in those live Q&As again. I also have that same Jim Root Black Satin sig and the PRS Wood Library Tremonti. Wonder when that PRS MT100 head is coming bc these guitars should sound amazing through it.
Love my Jim Root Jazzmaster. Fluff nailed it when he said "the only thing in your way is you". Absolutely a monster tone machine.
I knew i heard some Rest Repose riffs in there during the clean tone demo. Then you played some more a little after. So dope, love it!
Nice! I dig that black satin color, for sure. Thanks for the review, Fluff! 🤘🏻
YO this is the EXACT guitar I seen recently that super intrigued me. You know what I wanted!!!! I watched him do a quick demo and I'm like damnnnn he's actually a shredder wow. He got tones and bends like Yngwie and Buckehead
I've had his signature Telecaster for years now. Love it. Always wanted the Jazzmster too.
Thanks for the video fluff. Often wondered about that Guitar and now I know. I will be looking shortly
Your clean demo was 👍👍! I’ve wanted one of these for a while. Sold.
I picked up my first Jim Root Jazzmaster in 2014 and fell in love with it. Since then I've picked up 2 more. One was stripped and painted a matte white with nitro to match my Jim Root Tele and Strat, and the other was painted with a silverburst.
I have to get one. I love it. Love the show. Keep it up. Thanks
The sandblasted ones he was seen using on Fret 12 with the Het Set pickups by EMG looked absolutely killer. Jim has amazing taste in killer looks for guitars
I was hoping Fender would release those but at this point it doesn't seem like they will unfortunately
@@mrdubachery they were sick looking guitars
They released some Strats in that finish so I'm a bit surprised they didn't do his signature. The one I really wanted was his custom red satin Jazzmaster he played in Stone Sour. He eventually had it repainted to black I believe
Just go to his insta and see what he’s rocking. Rn he’s got some charvels with Floyd’s
@@mrdubachery Tele, P and J Bass too if I remember right in red, blue and sunburst, his red top/black back they refinished in white..
These series where Ash tho (which is way easier to brush or sandblast), he mentioned a few times thats most likely too complicated to find 2 mahagony plates with the right grain for this to release them for the masses..these are the sickest looking sig's of him for me 🤩
Oh!! You get all the nice things fluff 🤘🏻🥰
I've got one! Can vouch for them being an amazing, beautiful guitar.
I saw that orange one when the tour stopped in Fargo (Missed you btw), and that really piqued my interest in that Jazzmaster. Cool to see you doing a demo so shortly afterwards.
Congrats, Fluff! Nice fiddle, man.
Cool guitar, loved getting to hear you play!!!!
Drop C is just cool as hell and that's a clean, straight forward good design
Congrats on the new guitar. I want one too!
I live in Korea now and my Jazzmaster (in the profile pic) is in storage in the UK! I miss it a lot. Great guitar.
I had the Strat for a long time. Such fantastic guitars man. Great pick up!
Beautiful guitar. Cool video. I have taken a while off of your channel. No real reason just busy but man it feels good to be back
Love to see the large headstock “alive and well.” Also no inlay is my jam. Wish it was a reverse headstock and maple board. All subjective but, still cool as hell.
Nice fiddle man! I love the Jim root models. Also, I too am a fan of offset models. My favorite guitar is a Dean ml. I've been wanting one of these for a while.
Sounds gorgeous 🤘
I just discovered this guitar exists last week, and now you have a video on it… I must have it now.
Funny, my V4 Mexican came in today. Went with that one because of the inlays & luminlay dots. I have to say I’m pretty damn impressed. The intonation is off a little and a couple of frets need a quick file. Other than that perfect. I swear these are made for that lower tuning it just “chugs.”
Sounds killer. Good choice!
Love mine. First american fender I've owned. The case itself is really cool.
Love that some “Sleep City” riffs made it in here!🤘🏼🤘🏼
There's an expression I learned in a Motorcycle Safety Foundation course: "the crumple zone in a motorcycle crash is you". You adapted it well at 05:25. Nice demo. I got to play one of those and loved it. I'm not a big fan of offsets or Fenders in general, but I thought that Root JM was just amazing. Not amazing for a blah-blah, just amazing overall. Great axe.
Um....Huh?! 🤨
Yooooo that McCoy riff but on the clean channel...😍🔥🔥🔥🔥
I bought the fender American pro 2 jazzmaster earlier this year. I absolutely love it. I think this one would go well alongside it.
Now its time for the Jim Root Stratocaster and then the Telecaster! great video!
2:50 That clean tone is beautiful.
The starting Riff🤘🤘🤘🌟 insane ♥️
Now I wish it came in more colors. That lambo orange looking one in the pic you showed is sick.
Nice! Looks fun.
I have one. It felt really good and it's all I ever want to play. Kinda taking the place of my main guitar.
I have never been a big fan of the Jazzmaster shape but, admittedly, this one is nice!
Myself, like Mr Fluff here, am a fan of offset bodies. I’ve always had my eye on these JR Fenders. Hard to believe what you get with the price point they’re at, and I believe prices have gone up on these in recent years. I recall seeing when these first came out around ‘14-‘15 I think going for around $1500. I got caught up with a Mayones Regius and didn’t buy this one, but now I feel I gotta get one. Btw, nice demo and nice playing dude!
I bet that would relic like my 20 year old gibson gothic. Love that color
Love a 12-16 radius, my charvel has the same neck. Which makes sense because Jim was on Charvels for a bit in the mid 2000s. Also, 10 pounds damn lol. Jim and Mick both have always talked about their love for heavy mahogany bodies and the sustain they make.
They are both also huge men, so a little weight isn't going to hurt them.
Love a good and solid mahogany bodied guitar. Just beef..
I love that guitar . All Roots Models are great.
The neck pickup sounds so good and twangy. I like.
Welcome, Thanks. 😎🎸
I love this black beast amazing guitar 🔥
lovely axe, great setup.
I love the minimalist styling. I got a satin black squire jazzmaster setup similar on the cheap. So comfy to play.
What strings are you using? 🤔
Always wanted one. Maybe I'll make it a point to grab one. The new white one looks dope too
I was just looking at these before this video came up on my feed. I want one so bad.
Awesome guitar, I picked up a B stock V4 for a great price and I love it, have you tried his signature Daemonum pickups? I think I prefer them to the 81/60 combo
Nice.. Gotta get one.
that guitar is the first fender I ever bought, such a killer guitar
Sick!
Funny you made the muscle car analogy, Jim loves his muscle cars and bikes lol
Ive always loved satin, matte and faded finishes, I had an ES335 Satin that was one of the, possibly THE best sounding modern 335 that doesn't come from the Custom Shop. Many would look at them as a less expensive alternative, but i specifically wanted it and could have gotten the gloss.
I love the really thin finish, especially on vintage style guitars with low output pickups since the tonal qualities of the guitar itself (body, neck, etc). With higher output/modern guitars and pickups this is less prevalent.
I remember there was a period when PRS had offered a matte finish on their Custom 22/24's, and thinking that it would subdue the highly flamed tops. I saw one at a shop and from that moment I decided if I ever went with a core line CU22 (I don't do 24 frets) I'd get it matte. Contrary to my assumption on how it would make the flamed tops look, I find it makes it even more dramatic. It creates an almost 3-dimensional quality, and when you touch the top the first time you expect to be able to feel the flame.
I have the Tele. Never been much of a fan of Jazzmaster bodies. 🤷♂️ glad you like it, man. 👍
Definitely a Fender I would like to try out sometime.
I want this guitar so badly. Sadly, it’s out of my price range at the moment
They definitely went up
Nice man
I had to have two of the dual humbucker Squier Affinity Jazzmasters when they came out. True alder body mod boxes on the super duper cheap!
Love mine!! I even dropped his signature EMGs in to it. My favorite by far. I had no idea the price went up that much though.
Do they go right in with no modification? Been considering this but want to be able to go back to stock if the Daemonum set isn't my thing.
My dream is the Tele Flathead. Such a badass guitar.
I like the simple controls.
Sick af 🤘
Sweet guitar 🤘
Looks awesome! I gotta ask though is it really worth that price considering how dead simple it is? Or are you paying for something else I’m not thinking of?
Great video!
Honestly Mexican made or American made don’t make difference to me, as long as guitar is setup properly I’m good. The Jim root squire I have, says made in China and it plays like a dream, neck smooth as hell 😎 also got the demon pickups🔥
I would buy either one. I would not worry about the Mexican made ones, in fact I think the value is better. Mexico as a country has the highest percentage of people who play guitar, its a fact, and it translates directly to the Fender factory. I own an Ultra and I love the neck but I am not sold that compound radius is any better than just plain old 12" and if you want a Fender with a 12" radius you are going to be buying a Mexican made and they are excellent, not good, excellent.
@@oldgoattheantichrist3468 like, build in mexico by mexicans or in america by mexicans. 🤷🏼♂️
I have his Squier tele, dreaming of the day I can get my hands on his white jazz master
I had this one back in the day, i sold it cause i'm more into floyds but it was absolutely nasty! sounded fat, so tight and agressive. Emgs don't sound the same in every guitar, that's actually a fact i've noticed. This one sounded so BIG, great guitar.
I love my Jim Root Jazzmaster. It’s my number 1… so comfortable to play…. but then again I’m also a Blackstar amps endorsed artist, so what do I know 😉
super sleek looking
The industry needs more workhorse guitars, less frills and more quality. This is a prime example, its built to get the job done and thats it!
Are you using the mix wave drums? Sounds so good! Great vid
I love mine too
Flufff!!!! Do the 18v mod on the EMG’s!!!
what gauge strings do you have on that ?
I’d kill for a Squier version. I love my two Squier JR teles
You should look into the Peavey HP Special EX. Its like a Wolfgang with an HSH setup for 1/3 the price of a lot of the other offset double cuts.
Nice
Question, does the volume nob get in the way, just thinking since it's right under the bridge pickup. It seems like the knob would either be in the way or it would be knocked around making you mess with your volume
Coolest looking guitar ever.
Rock N Roll rentals in Austin TX, has one and its amazing. Awesome guitar, but I need that Mick Thomson soloist 🗿
I like all of Jim's guitars from Fender... but I don't know which one to pick!!!! The strat?
0:56 ay!!! could we see an Iowa tone match vid in the future?
Nice guitar
Was the reverb shop you got this from called white shag guitars?
What amp where you using it sounds amazing!
🤘
5:50 is that a coheed riff? From their newest album I think?
That looks like quite the tone machine
Do you have a tour rig video?
so how does this one stack up against your balaguer hyperions you used to use?
