- Two-Face is a classic Batman villain who enjoys the love of the fans. Harvey Dent’s origin story is one that is plagued with unfortunate events due to the antics of his abusive father, giving rise to his terrible mental trauma and bipolar disorder - the primary cause of his duality. However, he persevered and became a lawyer, only for things to hit the brick once again following an acid attack that ruined his face and triggered his descent into madness. As Harvey Dent assumed the moniker of Two-Face, he turned to a life of crime. He then went on to become a criminal mastermind in the underworld of Gotham City.
Harvey Dent made his debut in Detective Comics #66 in 1942. He was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger and his eclectic characterization gained popularity quite fast, making him a fan-favorite as he terrorized Gotham. His stellar design and coin-flipping gimmick with its dark past have cemented him in Batman’s rogue gallery.

Man if they did a movie about Harvey like they did the Joker, it would be a big hit. So much untouched lore.
I feel like the dark knight already did his character Justice a solo movie would not work out
@@viruman1816 one where they didn't feel the need to change vital details would have been nice
The Dark Knight is one of my favourite movies
But wow did Nolan change almost everything for those stories
@@ComicBookGuy420 maybe, but Nolan still managed to make it work
@@viruman1816 actually I think two face would be better as an actual main villain rather then a side only because his whole character is capable of doing quite alot like in the long halloween and such stories
@@nsalpietro79 a adaptation of the long Halloween would be good and would flesh out his character I’m not saying he can’t work as a main villian but he can’t work in a solo movie his entire character relies on the presence of Batman if you remove Batman you would have to change his entire story
Two-face is amazing. He's a very layered character. Batmans most personal foe. His old friend turned supervillain. I recommend Batman annual 14 Eye of the beholder. It's a great Two-face story.
Layered? LAYERED???... DUDE, two face has A LOT of layers burned off! He isnt THAT layered any more. All though he is my favorite Batman villain of all time.
I'm sorry Harvey I forgot! D:
Yeah, he's one Batman foe that really takes the yin and yang very seriously
@@ianfranklin2216 Mine too. Even Cried when Two Face Died In the Dark Knight and Arkham Knight. Layers Two Face Has Psychologically. He Suffered More Psychological Scars. He's a Bomb and Explosive Expert too and Is Immune to Scarecrow's Toxic. Master Combatant.

He tried to make Gotham float, Gotham dragged him down too.

My favorite version of Two-Face is the version from the Telltale Series. It's probably the most accurate portrayal of him when it comes to his split personality. It's clear that he is ill, but that he really wanted to make Gotham better. They did s lot to make him tragic while still being quite threatening.
Two Face
one year later
It's after he's been "cured" and is still extremely disturbed
The great thing about Telltale’s is that even if his face remains in tact he still becomes two-Face. It showed how the injury didn’t create two-Face, it only rushed the process.
@@haydenrhead7692 Lots of people felt off about this choice but I never understood why. Yeah, it's Telltale saving their budget, but it works perfectly in context with the character. His dark side was always buried inside him, and the drug was what finally brought it to the surface, scars or no scars.
@@haydenrhead7692 True. Harvey Dent is the comic book poster boy for dissociative identity disorder. there are two people inhabiting that body. When the acid got on his face, the significant brain damage allowed the evil alternate persona to become equally dominant simultaneously alongside the genuinely good-hearted Harvey persona. This is best shown in his introduction in the legendary video game Batman Arkham City.
I really hope he shows in The Batman sequels. He would be a great counterpart to Batman's duality but more extreme.
Fun Fact:
His original name was Harvey Kent, took them more than a couple issues to change his last name to Dent
Two Face in the Batman animated series was one of my absolute favourites
Also loved his part in the No Man's Land
Liked the animated series version. Richard Moll was excellent as him.

Two face
One of the most iconic Batman villains with the tale of a man going from the beloved figure of Gotham City to the most feared Mob bosses of Gotham due to his mental issues
His heartbreaking story is the main reason why two face is my favorite DC villain. I love well written stories of people who fall from grace
Two Face is my fave Batman villain after the Joker (with R’as Al Ghoul at #3). He is intelligent, and his being a former District Attorney gives him an edge as he knows the ins and outs of the law.
His obsession with the number 2, as well as always following what his silver dollar coin decides after a flip also makes him predictable on one hand, yet also unpredictable as nobody- not even Harvey Dent himself- knows how it will turn up.
Making him Bruce Wayne’s best friend in Batman: The Animated Series and slowly coming the arc that made Harvey Two-Face made him a tragic figure- the novelization of Batman Forever by Peter David even gave more of his film character background and why he personally hates Batman.
According to Tommy Lee Jones back in 1995 in an interview with Wizard Magazine, he took the role otherwise his son would’ve been really upset with him.
Understandable
He needs to be the main villain in a Batman movie too.
Yep and not like how the dark knight treated him
@@sjmhadsock4586 Or in “Batman Forever”
I want to see them do
No Man's Land as a movie trilogy
Properly, comic accurate
Two Face had a very interesting role to play
Maybe one that introduces Dick Grayson as Robin
batman forever was really good tho
Imagine a Twisted Batman Film or Graphic Novel about a screwed up organized crime rivaly between Two-Face and Scarce-Face with the Ventriloquist. The story be that the duel Personality disorder is in full swing, 1) Harvey and Ventriloquist are working together as DA and Informant to help Batman take down new Crime Turf War. 2) Unbeknownst to Harvey and the Ventriloquist, they don't know that their other personalities Two-Face and Scarce-Face are the leaders of the Two Rival Crime Syndicates engaging in Turf Wars.
Battle of the split personalities!
That would be awesome
I'd do you one better by having Dr No-Face be revealed to be Two-Face's brother
Personally I think that’s what makes the idea of Two Face scary. Someone who has been through terrible trauma, fought his way passed it only for it to find you again, and drown you. That’s terrifying.
I was about to say! Be careful with The Long Halloween as it is one of the BEST comic stories ever with a twist ending not many saw coming. There is an animated adaptation that fills the holes but I find the comic more grounded in reality.
The animated adaptation was pretty damn good, but it indeed changes quite a lot of things in the ending...
I'm not mad about it, it made for a few interesting surprises even for those who have read "The Long Halloween"
Plus, my man David Dastmalchian voices _the Calendar Man_ , in Julian Day's first appearance as a legit scary dude
(like how he's represented in the *Arkham* games)
Anyway, "The Long Halloween" movie has been a really good entrance in the DCAU, and is worth watching whether you've read the comics or not.
Love Two-Face. He may be my favorite member of Bat’s rogues gallery.
Two Face definitely needs his own comic series. He's my favorite DC villain.
Baby Doll is definitely up there as one of the most tragic.
I always thought Harvey dent grew up normally and became a laywer but now I know better
Fun fact
His original last name was Kent

Harvey Dent would be the only Two face character/person I could like because Two face is of my favorite villains.
I recommend the animated movie Batman vs Twoface. Which was in the Adam West universe.
Wasn't bad, shatner as two face was a welcome surprise

It goes dark, but is one of the best graphic novels to delve into just how bad his psychosis truly is
Very awesome video. One of my favorite Batman villains.
You know what would be awesome? A video about the scariest German Bedtime Stories/Fairy Tales . We have a bunch of them . (For example the original „Sandman“ who comes into childrens rooms, rips out their eyes and feeds the eyes to his own children)

I like that his look never changed that much over the years. Well, until the "make everyone look like the Nolan movies" phase. The snarl combined with sloughing face was much better than a pseudo-gory burn IMO.
I prefer the 90s TAS version myself
Yea because Nolan was going for realism. Although i do agree with you, wouldn’t really make sense.
Just throwin' this out there, but the past tense of "seek" is "sought". "Seeked" isn't a word.
Idk I feel pretty bad for Mr Freeze. Guy turns into a supervillain and works like crazy to cure his wife. Cures her, then she becomes a super villain because she likes it, and almost kills Freeze on the way out.
I think a DC Black Label story would be perfect for Two-Face!
Yeah, something like that is needed
Definitely.
Nice vid
My favorite Batman Villain
Agreed
Two-face is very iconic character in Batman's rogues gallery and I feel that he deserves far more recognition than what he's received at the present time!
Harvey Dent's Childhood is basically the Story of Raising Cain.
So many of Batman's villains are brilliant, simply because they challenge his beliefs or highlight a part of who he is.
Harvey is not only representative of the thin line Bruce walks as Batman between good and evil, but is a dark shadow of Bruce as well.
The Dark Knight Rises is partly so amazing simply because of the triumvirate of Batman and Joker are both sides of a single coin. It's not only Two-Faces shtick, but because of the symbolism invoked with that, the lines of who won in the movie are actually blurred. Batman stopped Joker's plot, but Harvey still succumbed to madness, and everything he built was left on a foundation of sand because of it.
Two is my second favorite Batman villain pun intended with Scarecrow being first
Two face is the first and one of my favorite Batman Villains. I remember seeing him in my first Batman comic book I bought when I was very young. It had two face and tim drake first doned the Robin costume in order to save Batman and Nightwing.
Imagine (in a parallel reality) Guiliani (who's a snake in his own right) during his massive push against the mob in the 80s goes rogue after an attempt on his life.
He disappears, resurfaces later but not before killing Carmine Persico and his loyalists, taking over the Colombos and then warring with everyone else.
That idea is why Harvey Dent is so fascinating to me. Such a high profile political figure who's generally regarded as a good man by everyone becomes one of Gotham's most menacing mob bosses.
In real life I'm sure he'd be a Nicky Scarfo type with the looks of Phil Leonetti. Scary as all fuck
I love Two-Face because of how real he is. A problem he long avoided came back to haunt him years later. Usually the way it goes... He is my favorite character-DC or Marvel, hero or villain.
Good stuff
Genuinely hate how under utilized he is as a character.
Easily one of Batman’s best villains, and one of the handful that actually knows how to fight(obviously not on Batman’s level, but can definitely throw down) with a strong personal connection with batman himself and who is deep down and genuinely good person who is in desperate need of clinical help.
Hate that nowa days he always just gets treated like a villain of the week. IMO he’s Batman’s best villain.
I heard Harvey had another side called the judge in a Batman cartoon.
Third identity
Yep
Two Face is underrated af. He has actual great character development, is genuinely frighting, and interesting af. My favorite thing about him is that he’s not scared to confront Batman to his face (no pun intended). 😂💯
Currently as of an issue of detective comics before it hit number 1000, Harvey has decided to use his legal training to help fellow inmates with their appeals. As far as I can tell it's a legitimate attempt at redemption, but, as you pointed out, can Two-Face allow Harvey to stray that far from him?
I loved that storyline, with the *"Church of Two-Face"* , and him and Batman taking on the Joker's talons together during *Joker War*...
In even more recent comics, Harvey has kept straight on his road to redemption, but it's tricky to talk about which series it happens in, as it's kind of a twist/surprise about halfway in the storyline...
I'll just recommend the following title, which is very good anyway, regardless of Dent's appearance or not:
*/!\SPOILER ALERT/!\*
...
..
.
..
...
I recommend *Task Force Z* for fans of Jason Todd/Red Hood, who is the main character in this story, leading his own "Suicide Squad" made out of "Zombies" (hence the title) version of Batman rogues who were recently deceased, either in the "A-Day" attack, or in the 2019/2020 Suicide Squad run
(with the revolutionaries? it was a good run).
*Task Force Z* is one of the best DC runs of the moments, and if you're kinda sick of the Joker being the main antagonist in most current stories, you'll be pleased with this one.
Plus, Mr Bloom returns!
We hadn't seen him since *All-Star Batman* at the beginning or _DC Rebirth_

Arcade is underrated
a Wonderful Actor to play Two Face in the DCEU/Snyderverse, is Sam Witwer, he Nailed it with his Voice Acting performance as Both Darth Maul and Darth Sidious, he'll make a Great Choice for the DCEU/Snyderverse's Harvey Dent/Two-Face
Two-Face is my favourite Batman villain and I always found him an interesting character and I enjoyed Tommy Lee-Jones and Aaron Eckhardt's portrayal of Two-Face.
I HATE the term Genius Level Intellect. There are NOT that many geniuses. Above Average intelligence is a better term. A few rare characters like Dr Doom or Lex Luthor ,and several others, would qualify as geniuses.
One of my favorites of always been William Shatner playing him, and return of the Cape crusaders Batman versus2 face.
Love Harvey's character in many forms
I like Troy Baker’s Two-Face from Batman: Arkham City (2011) and Batman: Arkham Knight (2015) because his Two-Face is based on 3 previous versions. The way he talks like Richard Moll from Batman: TAS (1992), Troy’s Two-Face refers to himself as us Like Tommy Lee Jones from Batman: Forever (1995), and his disfigured face based on Aaron Eckhart’s Two-Face from The Dark Knight (2008).
Also why the hell does Harley get a TV show but not Harvey? A Harvey animated series could really be the 💣.
My 1# favourite Batman villain. To underused in my opinion. To much The Joker in recent years.
And why so much the Penguin and the Riddler? these days? they are boring in comparisson.
The only morality in a cruel world....
Is chance.
Unbiased.

Did he really need to explain a double sided coin?
If he didn’t someone would have complained.
to add to his physical abilities; in an issue of the battle for the cowl, he breaks out of prison along with others and it shows him having ripped the head off a guard with his bare hands.
Tbh Two-Face and Riddler are the most interesting than The Joker
Exactly!
My favorite version of the character that I think does his duality so well only had one appearance. New 52 Batman and Robin #23.1 or Two-Face #1. This comic showed Two-Face having his day decided for him by flipping a coin. Scarred heads he becomes the mobster crime lord version we are used to. However, if the coin lands on good heads he becomes a vigilante in the same vain as Marvel's Punisher. Going on a rampage and killing criminals and those he believed deserve punishment, fitting considering his career as a lawyer and originally wanting to see justice done.
This version mirrors Batman's duality in a very unique way. Batman seeks to punish the guilty and get justice for the innocent they have wronged yet would never break his moral code and take a life. However Batman does indeed have a darkness inside him and part of him would nothing more than to have bloody vengeance for both himself and others who have been wronged but is able to keep his dark side in check. This version of Two-Face is what Batman could potentially be if he were to give into his darker instincts and step over that line.
its amazing how comic mental disorders chosen for the villains are based on names of disorders or the awful misrepresentation made popular in 80s(and on) movies and nothing to do with symptoms. two faces = bipolar (what you mean like manic depression?) and of course movie schizophrenia of the imaginary split personality sort, puppet master totes the sort of movie schizophrenia where the symptoms align with d.i.d.

This is hands down my favorite supervillain
Two-face would be an excellent choice for a future DC film.
There could have two versions of any Two-Face Black label comic, show both (The Harvey Dent and Two-Face) Side of the same story.
I definitely wouldn't say two face is the most "terrifying" or "tragic" I'd say villians like red hood (red hoods and anti hero I know but he is a bad guy sometimes so" and also villians like scarecrow penguin joker to me are a lot scarier as they have a much tighter grip on gotham.
His third persona was the judge
Two-Face is absolutely amazing!!!
god i loved animated series two face but also the other batman tas where they kinda mixed clayface with two face
I think their should be a story about how batman managed to rehabilate two face and he becomes an anti hero i mean he has the potential for it or maybe one where he learns batman identity bc that would be terrifying bc unlike other villians when they learn who batman is they just oh he is a rich boy who lost his parents who cares but two face he actually knows bruce wayne inside and out duo to them being close friends so bruce or batman would never be save so i think it would be very dangerous for him to learn this
I adore Batman: Arkham City and Knight's Two-Face design wise and the performance his voice actor gives is incredible. Sadly in those two games, he's a mere jobber who gets the second worst treatment in the Arkham games, only being beaten out by Black Mask.
