Part 1: • Smush Parker on Being ...
    --------
Former NBA player Smush Parker expressed his views on playing with NBA greats Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. Parker revealed he was not a fan of Bryant’s style of play as a volume shooter, preferring efficient players like Kevin Durant and Steph Curry. Parker described Bryant as someone who could get under people's skin and become demanding of his teammates. In making a sharp distinction between Jordan and Bryant, Parker indicated that he did not believe in comparing the two. He explained that while both were high competitors, Jordan was unique in that he encouraged his teammates to play better.

Phil Jackson said the key differences between Jordan and Kobe was that Jordan had a conscience, Kobe did not. He said Jordan would feel dissapointed in himself if he had an inefficient shooting night. Kobe on the other hand would care less if he shot 7 for 25. Also, he said that Jordan was a great listener and actually listened to him when he gave advice. He said Kobe did not listen to him. Finally, he said that Jordan was way more charismatic and loved hanging out with his teammates, smoking cigars, playing cards, and joking around. Kobe on the other hand was an egomaniac and lone wolf who rarely assiciated with his teammates off the court which at times rubbed them the wrong way.

This was for years. Even players at the all star games. A reporter said he was In the locker room at an all star game and all the players was around Lebron, and Kobe was by himself. I can’t tell you how many people told me they hated Kobe for years. Than he passed, now the nation love him smh. Im not a Lebron fan, but I don’t hate him. Its crazy how what kobe says and media can change your perception of a guy. Because Kobe said Smush was his worst teammate we look at him like he was trash. But he averaged 11 points a game and 3.2 assists for 2 seasons with the lakers and was only given 2 chances and no time to develop.
On the OTHER HAND, Derek Fisher was who Kobe said was his favorite teammate. Fisher was given 13 seasons with the Lakers and never progressed past an average point guard with no all star appearances. Fisher averaged 8 points a game around 2 assists for his career with the Lakers. Dereks rookie year he avg 3.9 ppg and he didnt avg more than 6 ppg for the next 4 years.
Fishers looked at as a beloved Laker, while Smush is considered worthless. And it most likely has to do with Kobe liking Derek and not liking Smush. Kobe was probably instrumental on getting Smush cut despite him putting up better numbers in just 2 seasons than Fisher. We never got to see Smush's progression cuz no one ever gave him a shot.
Verdict: Smush was an average point guard, but in no way does he deserve to be called trash or someones worst teammate. Smush could ball and couldve progressed to a 15-17 ppg point guard or a solid 6th man.

He pushed and made better the people he thought were worth his time. Not saying he got it right, it's just how he saw it in real time. But let's not make like MJ was any better. They were dogs on a mission and they didn't know how to push or be soft. They only knew how to pull and be hard. They were either gonna pull you along or leave you. That was the Kobe and Jordan way. I am a devout Los Angeles Lakers fan. I would defend Smush Parker from criticism during his tenure on the team (2005-2007) because I felt like he was unreasonably criticized for not being on the same level as Jason Kidd, Steve Nash or Tony Parker. Yes Smush was not an All-NBA 1st team level point guard but for his pay wage, he was a serviceable point guard. You could do alot worse than Smush Parker during that time. At the time I felt like he did not get enough credit for being a serviceable point guard and I still feel that way til’ this very day. Blame Mitch Kupchak, Jim buss and Jerry Buss for not partnering Kobe Bryant with an elite All-Star caliber backcourt mate if you want to be resentful towards anyone.
By and large I agree with Smush’s criticisms of Kobe Bryant and I love Kobe but at the end of the day, Kobe was human, which means he was capable of having character and personality flaws like the rest of us. Kobe Bryant had his flaws as a teammate and needlessly emasculating and humiliating Smush Parker for wanting to be cordial with him is one of those flaws. It’s a sign of someone who was insufferably arrogant and unsociable. Where Smush has it wrong is, Kobe Bryant learned these behaviors from Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant mimicked not only MJ’s game but MJ’s personality and mannerism’s. He wanted to be viewed as a mirror of Michael Jordan in every way humanly possible. If Kobe was a bad teammate then it’s largely because Michael Jordan was a bad teammate aswell because MJ is who Kobe idolized and imitated. MJ was well known for being an asshole to his teammates, Kobe knew this and so he copied that blueprint. To Kobe’s credit though, I think that he became more hospitable and supportive with his teammates in the latter stages of his career.

    Smush: "I did"
I looked up the 02-03 Cavs
and the Cavs played against Jordan's Wizards 4 times that year
    Jordan played all 4 games
and Smush played all 4 games
the two later games in the season were interesting:
Jordan started that game and played 42.5 min, shot 50% (13 of 26) had 8 assists, 4 boards, 4 steals, 1 block
    Smush started that game
    Washington won 93 to 84
the final game against the Cavs:
Jordan started and played 45 and a half minutes (almost the entire game minus like 2 min)
    Jordan shot 10 of 19 (53%) had 10 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 26 points
Smush played 17 min 17 seconds, so since Jordan played pretty much the entire game minus 2 minutes, Smush had to have been on the court with Jordan at least 15 minutes out of his 17
    Washington won 100 to 91

I think its debateable..Prime Pippen, Harper, Horace Toni K with good spot up shooters. I do think Kobe faced tougher comp...Jordan never faced anyone as good as the Spurs, "Jail Blazers" Sacramento Queens"...Nash & Stoudemire suns etc..the 2000s had some squads.

Kobe’s style of motivation is challenge. & only a specific personality type responds well to challenge & Smush isn’t one of them. That’s why Kobe didn’t like him, he had no dawg in him and doesn’t respond to challenge well. He didn’t think he could win with Smush & he was right.
Smush is in a delusion saying you can’t compare Mike & Kobe although Mike is a better leader and defender they were literally the same player both volume shooters. & to compare himself to KD is insane.

Scottie is hands down Mike’s greatest teammate he ever played with. Mike made Scottie look bad in the documentary, didn’t talk to Scottie when Scottie was pissed about it, then had his youngest son get engaged to Scottie’s ex-wife and mother to Scottie Pippen Jr.
