The fact that most actors were completely oblivious to the plot makes it so much more genuine and enjoyable
Quite a few movies do this with varying quality, one such is borat in which literally almost every person except borat himself and a few others are real people. It's a funny movie if you don't mind the offensive stuff

The most terrifying part for me about this movie is that the “zombies” are not actual zombies, they’re still humans but they’re just full of rage and hunger.
The biggest symptoms for this movie’s virus are madness and so much hunger, so basically they’re like insane asylum patients full of anger and starvation.
That’s just terrifying in a realistic manner.
This are not actual zombies, but they are also not infected people full of rage and hunger

I don't know if I'm photosensitive, but my grandmother was and she didn't have her first incident until she was about my age so I try to be careful with triggers just in case. So I really appreciate how considerate James is with his warnings and when he advises that I skip an episode due to it, I instead listen to the video like a podcast because I don't want to miss out on any of these great videos.
James cares about his viewers unlike most other CZcamsrs, that's why I watch him
I think if you're really worried about that, you should go get checked out just in case.
I do the same, audio only while gaming for some of these episodes.

The guy at 7:49 is not Spanish but actually Argentinian. His character is called Cesar. This is also accurate because when Argentina went through a crisis in 2001, a lot of Argentinians fled to Spain. Today you can find in Spain as many Argentinians as Spaniards. It is also accurate the fact that he´s a bit xenophobe towards the Chinese characters. Sadly, xenophobia is one of our biggest treats, but it´s based not so much on thinking that the rest are less, but that we are better.
Listen carefully to Cesar´s accent. The Italian accent while speaking Spanish is a dead-giveaway of his actual nationality.

Hiring a real life television personality to play the lead in a found footage horror film is the perfect decision! She does such a great job, as do all the others!!
The one thing that has probably already been explained that I still don’t understand is why didn’t the government tell the firefighters and police to not respond to the call? Even if it was some international government they still should have called them off
Theory: Since its implied that it is a cult, someone high up in the law enforcement area called for them to arrive and at the same time call international government for the case so that the infection can spread.. Explaining both why they managed to get hold of the virus source and why they called up regular people for the job

As a spanish speaker myself i love hearing not spanish speakers trying to pronounce our language (words with "Q" espeacilly) not because i make fun of them but because of the interesting pronunciations that come up and i have to say James does a very good job at pronounce
I saw the ending as a kid and it used to haunt me until I was a teen and was determined to watch the movie but never found it. Now as an adult I finally found it again through Dead Meat and I'm so glad I've been binging Kill Count!

I’m pretty sure this existing alone is evidence of how much he cares for his fans. He didn’t have to release this, especially during Covid, and yet he was kind enough to give us this, and the quarantine kill count. Thank you James, for this little gift, and for all of the other things you do for us fans. This helped me get through the beginning of this mess we call Quarantine.
This is one of those movies that has the simplest plot (zombie infection and your trapped in a building) but they do it so well it feels completely different and amazing

Javier Botet is literally so good in everything he's been in, like Conjuring 2 (as Crooked Man), Insidious: The Last Key (as KeyFace), Mama (as Mama), and Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark (as The Jangly Man). He is literally so visually horrifying and just wrong in those scenes but it's honestly wonderful to watch ❤

I'm from Spain and I lived in Barcelona when the movie was released and with my friends, we went to the REC house. There was still a broken glass you could see the fake blood on the floor. It was really fun!

10:22 It was incredibly lucky that they managed to catch all of the escaping violent infected animals as well as the fact that no one who had the virus infected someone outside of the apartment building before they could set the quarantine up. This film seems to rely on luck for things to happen the way that it did. The Health Officials in this movie were also lucky that no one in the Apartment Building owned a Mega-Phone so that they could call them out on their lie on everyone having been evacuated.
I've learned over the years that you can't fully appreciate a film until you have seen the way it was produced.
Oddly enough, Team America: World Police taught me that.
Production on that film was INCREDIBLE and the behind the scenes DVD extras are phenomenal.
Honestly, that movie should have won an Academy Award.

I got out of the hospital about a week ago, The reason is because I got in a car accident. A piece of wood went threw my eye socket into my brain I am now blind in my left eye because of that. I am fine but there was a really low chance of me surviving and I’m still here. :)

This was actually one of the horror movies that actually scared we with their jumpscares
with the camera looking as if its a real recording not to mention 90% of the cast did there role in real life or were forced to improvise not knowing what comes next made it seem so real which is what makes it so good when the jumpscares happen cause it feels so real

James is a guy who goes out of his way to get Americans to send in their census and vote, always warns viewers (both lightheartedly and very outwardly to make sure he is heard) that he included jumpscares in his kill counts and less than 15 seconds into this video he let everyone know he was hoping we stayed safe. The fans of this channel are the luckiest dude :')

Watching this video in May of 2023, hearing James talk about quarantine and being stuck at home - *3 years ago!* It's so crazy to think that the height of COVID was 3 years ago. Also, I remember vividly watching this in UK lockdown and being scared shitless of that jumpscare at the end.
So many scary moments in this movie like the ending penthouse scene of course but I think the scene when they're looking for the set of keys for the whole building had one of the most spine chilling scenes for me... Manu is attacked and kills an infected, he then breaks open the door of the apartment which the keys are located, Angela and Pablo go in and find the keys and when come out Manu is nowhere to be seen, they hear loud shrieks and frantic movement coming up the stairs... When they look down and see that a large number of infected are hauling ass up the dark stairway towards them and Manu is among them! Seeing him already turned and among the infected in that dark stairway rushing up towards our last to 2 survivors gives such a feeling of hopelessness and dread...

"Rec" (2007) is the best Spanish horror movie ever made! And it is one of the 50 best horror movies ever made! Scary as hell!
Nah there was this Spanish movie about this blind women and this man who stalked her I watched back in the late 2000's or early 2010's or something. Haven't a clue what it was called but it was pure psychological terror.
