    I don't think you're right about the product being discontinued. It was out of stock for a long time, but it's back in an improved form, same product, Distance Carbon FLZ. Thanks for the video, I couldn't understand the ridiculously obscure visual instructions that came with the poles, but your video has sorted it out completely for me.

    A quick search reveals that the straps on these BD poles fail. BD sells replacement straps for the poles, but instead I suggest that they be redesigned to not fail. This step would save BD customers significant time and money. Specifically, I suggest that the small piece of cord attaching the strap to the pole be replaced with one of the stronger, light cord materials available today. BD responded to my review, said "sorry," but said nothing about fixing the problem. I believe that a company with many decaded of developing cutting edge technology for mountain sports equipment can successfully use a small piece of cord of sufficient tolerance. They might try, for example, 3 inches of Dyneema cord, or 3 inches of an alternative that is less expensive, but possesses sufficient strength.

    Hi. I'm on the fence between carbon and aluminium version.
    Since it's really expensive gear i want them to last longer so i'd prefer aluminium for better durability.
    But if carbon version is sturdy enough to last me years though...
    I'd like to think myself careful and gentle when it comes to gears. But these are trekking poles that supposed to handle some level of beating.

      Hi there Jeanluno! That sounds like a complicated fix..without being able to see the issue, we would recommend contact Black Diamond to see how they would suggest repairing it. Thanks, and good luck!

    Are these trekking poles compatible to use with the Big Agnes Scout 2 Ultralight tent?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  Před 4 lety

      When setting up the scout 2, you need two different length poles, so these won't really work. Adjustable poles would be the best option

    Bagaimana cara melepaskan sambungannya..?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  Před 6 lety +1

      To collapse the poles, pull the upper pole sections apart slightly, click the push button under than handle, and the tension is released and you can fold up the poles. Terima Kasih!

    Hi, I bought these poles last year, tested them hiking in the Dolomites. Negative result: When reaching muddy or snowy territory, the poles inner kevlar lines slipped out of the carbon stick, so I had to put the poles back together....tried the inner cog to tighten the resistance, but without a good results. Any tipps for that problem?

      @Enwild  Před 3 lety +2

      When assembling z-style poles, you want to be sure that you have 'clicked' the segments into place. There is a small pop-button that holds them in place. With the lever-lock in the closed position, assemble all three sections like tent poles. Then with one hand on the handle, and one hand on the section just below the lever-lock, pull in opposite directions until the pop-button clicks into place. You should be able to hear the 'click'. This maintains the tension on the inner cord, keeping the sections together!

    can this be use for Ski?

    • @Enwild
      @Enwild  Před 2 lety

      i Meditation- i冥想 thank you so much for your interest in the BD Distance Carbon FLZ trekking poles. There's nothing to say that couldn't use them as ski poles but we do feel dedicated one piece poles would provide a significant amount of strength over the mechanically segmented shaft pieces of the trekking poles. Skiing would introduce a significant amount of pressure over hiking on the locks that could cause premature wear. Thanks again.
