I hope that this story highlights the fact that not following the rules of the road (the laws) all of the time has serious and significant consequences. Now a young man is dead, and the driver at fault is hospitalized, facing criminal charges with three real possibilities of prison time and potential lawsuits that will keep her indigent forever just because she did what was easy but not what was legally correct.
