I have watched the Steelers win 6 Super bowls , and the Pens win back to back with Mario BUT for some reason this was the best. The Pens looked lost at the beginning then a few trades and a new coach who believe in his players and they believed in him unnamed from the AHL PLAYERS BOUGHT UP -who played their hearts out, They went from a OK team to a POWER HOUSE, Its went from BAD TO CHAMPIONS , BELIEVE and things can change . I also remember finding out I had cancer at the beginning ,OF THE SEASON ,but before the play offs they operated and I am CANCER FREE TODAY. IT WENT BAD TO GREAT, FOR ME, 2016. TNKS FOR THE VIDEO GREAT .JOB MY FRIEND.
I agree, I said many months ago before the play offs when the Pens started playing well together when Sullivan joined it was starting to look like 09 all over again.
(Crying like a little baby) -- I wish I would have got to witness the Detroit Lions winning all of the glory but that has never happened . Every time we go against another top contender in the NFC, they beat us. your bad ass running back is from Michigan State.... but I bet you already know that
Irrelevant? Hardly. That was scored with a little over a minute still left in the game. He doesn't get the empty net the Sharks are looking at a one goal game, still very winnable. That sealed the deal, the Sharks may not have scored again after that but it was spirit breaking, who knows if he doesn't get that.
Congrats Pittsburgh. I'm from California, Kings fan rooting for the Sharks during the Finals. You guys were the better team. Like your city, too. Good luck next year
Boss Arch Yeah it was a thrilling playoffs for you guys, especially against Washington and Tampa. Look out for that Rust guy you guys have. That kid's for real.
Good to hear from a true hockey fan rather than any haters, Kings have been great to watch in the past 4-5 years, Quick is a beast, and a real classy organization all around... maybe next year we'll get a pens/kings stanley cup matchup =P if the pens don't make it I'd definitely wan't the kings to take the cup or maybe even see the sharks come back and win it... as long as it's not one of the eastern conf. teams who employ mostly dickheads *cough* rangers, flyers, etc *cough*
That 2016-2017 team was something else. Just so damn fun to watch. Regardless of what happens moving forward, us pens fans got to watch something very special those 2 years.
I watch the Stanley Cup game every few days and pretend like it's still happening it's good just makes you a good fan of one of the greatest skilled teams of all time
A lot of credit should go to Marc-Andre Fleury, he was the Penguins first half season MVP. He kept them a float through October, November, and December. The Penguins weren't scoring a lot of goals, but were winning tight games of 2-1, 3-2, etc... and MAF prevented the Penguins from being buried early on in the season with his outstanding goaltending. The one game I believe that turned this team's season around was a New Year's Eve 2015 game in Detroit against The Red Wings. The Penguins got down 2-0, but rallied with 5 unanswered goals to win the game 5-2. From that point on, the team's season changed. They never looked back after that game.
I totally agree.I remember commenting somewhere after the Pens won the cup this year and saying pretty much the same thing about Fleury.I said that the first half of the season Fleury single handedly was the reason they won a bunch of games and people blasted me saying "Oh yeah,on a team with Crosby,Malkin,Kessel,Letang etc Fleury wasn't the only reason they won".Guess they didn't tune in during the tougher times of the season!
The rangers were always harder to beat than they should’ve been. I watched every second of that series and it gave me grey hairs to begin. Cullen was one of the best signings in penguin history too
I don't think we'll have another team like this for quite a while!! 😓😓 That HBK line was phenomenal. Plus Hornqvist, Sheary, Kunitz, and Rust we're all amazing. On top of all of that, Crosby and Malkin both produced goals like crazy back then. So sad to see what this off-season brings. 😭😭
Dont forget 2012 when the kings were the 8th seed and dominated everyone they played against. Im a Pens fan too but that run was definitely more remarkable than what the pens did this year
I knew it. I know you might not believe me but there wasn't any doubt at all during everything (except for the caps series, a few games. I felt like the pens got cheated a bit)
It really isn't for Pens fans it is of course but for an hockey fan it doesn't even come close to the 2012 Kings, 2013 Hawks, 2011 Bruins, 2014 Kings, 2010 Hawks, hell even 2015 Hawks we're better than this cup run lol. 2016 Pens would be at the bottom imo.
Of the three Stanley Cups I've seen the Penguins win, this was the best one even better than the 09 team. This team looked discombobulated for about the first three months of the season and Sidney Crosby only had 6 goals I believe when the team hit the Christmas Break and a lot of people wondered if Crosby's days as an elite player were over. Then things changed Jim Rutherford traded Rob Scuderi for Trevor Daley right before Christmas, fired Mike Johnston and hired Mike Sullivan (which was the main reason the team turned their season around), and Sidney Crosby found his scoring touch again and went on a tear after Christmas, I believe he scored 30 goals after December 26th and ended up with 36 goals, 49 assists and 85 points and was a finalist the Hart Trophy as league MVP. Then JR added Hagelin, which brought more speed to the team, and then a rookie goalie named Matt Murray filled in for an injured Marc-Andre Fleury, towards the end of the season, and played just out of his mind in the playoffs. The run this team went on was just crazy. Then you had a bunch of young kids, Connor Sheary, Bryan Rust, and Tom Kuhnhackl, who came up from Wilkes Barre and injected youth and energy back into the team. What really showed how this team was different than years past ones in the post season was in the Eastern Conference Finals against Tampa Bay. The series was tied 2-2 and went back to Pittsburgh for Game 5. The Penguins had a 2-0 lead, the Lightning tied it, Penguins took the lead late in the 2nd, then gave up a late goal in the third that sent the game to OT. Then if I remember, I believe Tyler Johnson scored a bad goal in OT off Marc-Andre Fleury that gave the Lightning a 4-3 win and a 3-2 series lead. In years past a bad loss would have doomed the Penguins in Game 6. This team however responded and Mike Sullivan went back to the rookie Matt Murray who played outstanding in Game 6 and The Penguins Stars delivered in Tampa for Game 6, Crosby, Letang, Kessel all scored in that game and the Penguins won a clutch game and ended up coming back home and winning game 7. That's when I realized this team was destined to win it all after they beat Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Great Video! Great playoff run this year, was a lot of fun watching it! One of my favorite parts of the finals was when Hammett/Hetfield played The National Anthem at game 4 in SJ
I will never remember any moment as much as this Stanley Cup. I've been a Pens fan my whole life but for some reason this team felt special over all of the others
Long time coming, but mostly thanks for the great hockey. A great day for it and thanks for making Pittsburgh a championship hockey town. Hard not to see the whole organization, for example, Rick Tocchets influence on this team, gritty and determined. He should be proud--these boys are a joy to watch. Nobody could skate with them, defensively responsible and able to exert instant and tremendous offensive pressure.
Hockey is the best sport because all the players are down to earth just like us. It's totally proven when any team wins the Stanley cup and every player on the team "desecrates" it by doing all the various things to it while in their personal possession.
Not only the fastest team I’ve seen in my time watching hockey but also one of the best. Daley, Rust, Malkin, Crosby, Letang, Kessel, Cullen, Schultz, Sheary, Hornqvist, Kunitz, Dumoulin, Hagelin, Bonino
My God, that third line of Hagelin-Bonino-Kessel may have been the best third line the Pens have ever had. Yes they had their stars, but the cups are not won without this third line.
Just a heads up for everyone about the logo in the bottom right, this was originally planned for my channel. However I thought a sports video on a gaming channel wouldn't fit to well, so I decided to make this channel. Much more to come! Be sure to subscribe.
I always visit this video and other highlight videos against the Lightning looking for RaidPirate to talk about how Bishop had better puck handling skills than Vasilevskey and would've won the series for TB had a Penguin not injure him. Lol
+Nicholas Chiusano you can't really compare with teams like Columbus, it's just we are expecting to win cups kinda like the Blackhawks because of the kind of players we have and we have seen these players do so well
We are better than the Hawks that won 3 out of the 6 cups right now we are because they lost all their players due to salary cap had we played them with this team and theirs in 2010 could've gone either way
the penguins won 3-1... I think ure missing a gaol.. n not just a goal... but the goal... that open netter was absolutely awesome n idk why u don't even show it...???
It was my mistake, the empty net goals were much harder to find, I appreciate the comment. I found it now but the videos up. I'll be sure to make newer videos even better.
Goddam do I ever miss this roster

We won back 2 back twice, well now we did
Hornqvist scored the first goal and the last goal of the playoffs.
He started it and ended it
+ll HOCKEY ll no he didn't he left our hornqvist's empty net goal at the end of game 6.
Nah, Hornqvist scored an empty netter, that is not in this video for some reason...
+CHEL TV it was irrelevent to pittsburgh's cup win.
Irrelevant? Hardly. That was scored with a little over a minute still left in the game. He doesn't get the empty net the Sharks are looking at a one goal game, still very winnable. That sealed the deal, the Sharks may not have scored again after that but it was spirit breaking, who knows if he doesn't get that.
Forgot the empty net goal but who gives a shit the boys brought it home
Won’t ever forget those two magical seasons❤️
Congrats Pittsburgh. I'm from California, Kings fan rooting for the Sharks during the Finals. You guys were the better team. Like your city, too. Good luck next year
Back-to-back!
Thanks Zach I thought I was going to have a heart attack at times.
Thanks that means a lot
Boss Arch Yeah it was a thrilling playoffs for you guys, especially against Washington and Tampa. Look out for that Rust guy you guys have. That kid's for real.

Man, I forgot what a beast of a team this was in the 2016 playoffs
That 2016-2017 team was something else. Just so damn fun to watch. Regardless of what happens moving forward, us pens fans got to watch something very special those 2 years.
@@ryanincolorado549 fr I miss it
Me too, that team was something special!
It's crazy phill was on this team. Probably one of the best teams in the last 10 years
Is it bad I celebrated after every goal even though its all over now lmao
I do the same thing lmao
I watch the Stanley Cup game every few days and pretend like it's still happening it's good just makes you a good fan of one of the greatest skilled teams of all time
your fine,i try to re-live it about everyday ☝😂
Alec P You are one of those statistics.
I did too😂

tampa vs pittsburgh was a great series. prob the best playoff series this past postseason. that series could have gone either way.
I thought the Pens Caps series was the best
Caps pens was my fav even though tb went to 7 with us. I have never screamed louder then when bonino won game 6.
Caps pens was my fav even though tb went to 7 with us. I have never screamed louder then when bonino won game 6.
refs ruined that on for me (caps series) They screwed up big time. Both teams too.
A lot of these goals were pure domination
Forgot empty net goal by Nick Bonino in game 6 vs Tampa.
Facts
It was hornqvist
The rangers were always harder to beat than they should’ve been. I watched every second of that series and it gave me grey hairs to begin. Cullen was one of the best signings in penguin history too
Missed two goals both by hornqvist
Oh that goal horn is so beautiful, I loved every second of this video. Lundquist got lit up in those last two games!
I really miss these times I took it for granted
I don't think we'll have another team like this for quite a while!! 😓😓 That HBK line was phenomenal. Plus Hornqvist, Sheary, Kunitz, and Rust we're all amazing. On top of all of that, Crosby and Malkin both produced goals like crazy back then. So sad to see what this off-season brings. 😭😭
I come back here time and time to reminisce about the good ole days😢
Greatest cup run of the 2010s decade. Never thought we'd be hoisting the cup on December 31st. Go Pens!
Dont forget 2012 when the kings were the 8th seed and dominated everyone they played against. Im a Pens fan too but that run was definitely more remarkable than what the pens did this year
+One Popcorn wrong.
I knew it. I know you might not believe me but there wasn't any doubt at all during everything (except for the caps series, a few games. I felt like the pens got cheated a bit)

+David McCalla Actually the 2015 Hawks and 2016 Pens are pretty equal.
Man that game 5 against the rangers was just such a brutal beating.
Every game against the Rangers save for the 1 were brutal beatings ha ha.
Sekushiwolf yea as a rangers fan it was a laughable game, but the pens were the way better team and still are
And the year before that In 2015 the rangers destroyed the penguins in 5

great video but I was really waiting for thar Hornqvist empty netter. that and Fehr's goal in game 4 were the best all year!
@7:36 Sid being Sid! 💗
Wow, I never noticed how on fire Kessel was during this run. I’m a huge Sid fan. But, he could have taken the Conn Smythe no problem.
I thought he was a shoe-in for it.
Jesus that backhand by Malkin in game one vs the Caps was ridiculous.
That Malkin goal against the Caps was sick
Great Video! Great playoff run this year, was a lot of fun watching it! One of my favorite parts of the finals was when Hammett/Hetfield played The National Anthem at game 4 in SJ
god i miss this team
I will never remember any moment as much as this Stanley Cup. I've been a Pens fan my whole life but for some reason this team felt special over all of the others

I miss doc emrick commentating the games now that its on espn
What a moment when Sid Crosby rises up the cup. You really deserved it guys. Very good play-offs.
Hockey is the best sport because all the players are down to earth just like us. It's totally proven when any team wins the Stanley cup and every player on the team "desecrates" it by doing all the various things to it while in their personal possession.
BEAUTIFUL
Man some pretty goals that year!
That was F U N ...thanks for posting this !!
I was waiting for this, thx
Not only the fastest team I’ve seen in my time watching hockey but also one of the best. Daley, Rust, Malkin, Crosby, Letang, Kessel, Cullen, Schultz, Sheary, Hornqvist, Kunitz, Dumoulin, Hagelin, Bonino
forgot the hornqvist empty net at the end of game 6
Great video!!!
Awesome video😻
Watching this again you could really see just how dominant that HBK line was and that The Phil should have got MVP.
My God, that third line of Hagelin-Bonino-Kessel may have been the best third line the Pens have ever had. Yes they had their stars, but the cups are not won without this third line.
Fehr's game 4 goal pretty much sealed the cup. I figured there was no coming back for SJ when that went in
Mike and Paul have the most resonant voices for play-by-play....the others, not so much
Next year is a nice replay.
Just a heads up for everyone about the logo in the bottom right, this was originally planned for my channel. However I thought a sports video on a gaming channel wouldn't fit to well, so I decided to make this channel. Much more to come! Be sure to subscribe.
I miss mike emerick
Yes sir
Lol u forgot a goal but this video was hype
8:35 Crosby broke my mans ankles
Missing horquist empty netter at the end
Sorry about that! Completely forgot to include that!
Coning from a pittburgher, I thought tampa was gonna knock us out of the playoffs. I was scared until we got to San Jose.
I always visit this video and other highlight videos against the Lightning looking for RaidPirate to talk about how Bishop had better puck handling skills than Vasilevskey and would've won the series for TB had a Penguin not injure him. Lol
RIP Henrik Lundqvist's glove hand
Forgot Hornqvist's 2nd goal in game one against NYR
miss that hbk
Let’s hope the penguins do good this season…. I hope
Yes We got Erik Karlson, Ryan Graves, Sidney Crosby, and Reilly Smith on the same team were winning this years cup
It's been a long time coming?? 7 years lmao such a long time.
Yea I'm pretty sure for the fans that aren't bandwagons and waited 7 years it was a long time.
+TheWillStrike still you won a cup in less than a decade shouldn't say it's a long time coming.
+Nicholas Chiusano you can't really compare with teams like Columbus, it's just we are expecting to win cups kinda like the Blackhawks because of the kind of players we have and we have seen these players do so well
Try telling that to a Rico Fata era Pens fan who knows failure when he sees it. After 7 years of bullshit in the playoffs, it IS a long time coming.
+Global Hockey League thank you for explaining that !
You forgot hornquist at the end
Better than the Blackhawks
We are better than the Hawks that won 3 out of the 6 cups right now we are because they lost all their players due to salary cap had we played them with this team and theirs in 2010 could've gone either way
Finally this team has the depth they've had since 2009 and I'm fully confident they'd beat the Kings or Hawks in a SC final
+Zach B what do you mean WE.
Why did they use the Gold jerseys for home and the Vegas Gold jerseys on the road
I miss those white jerseys
Forgot empty netter at the end of the finals gm 6, but looking back I don't remember any empty netters. Maybe you left them out on purpose
Nah they just forgot that, I saw some empty netters
2017 playoffs no Crosby playing caps 😳😳😳😰
2013 -2015 Chicago Blackhawks unbeatable
2016-2017 Pittsburgh Penguins Unbeatable
It's been a long time coming? :( they won 7 years ago...
Sharks haven't ever won in their 25 year franchise :'(
Yay pens!!!!!!!!!😀😀😀
Fourth goal game 1 vs Rangers?
GO PENNS
Wow this is a long video...go pens
:( my sharks....
Repeat tm night in nashville
Missing the last goal..
didn't get the last goal of the playoffs @hornqvist
There was one more goal hornqvist scored a empty net with 10 seconds left
Rust 7:53🔥🔥🔥🔥
You missed one.
I don't care for hockey but I'll watch the pens in the playoffs
wow, henrik got wrecked by the pens
That play at 0:40 is amazing
the penguins won 3-1...
71 gols
3 people are Sharks fans
At 5;42 that's my pick
For my channel
You forgot Nick Bonino's empty net goal. Not like it really matters.
Anybody else like the announcer
Wouldve been better with Mike Lange's goal calls spliced in, but I digress.
Not really. Mike Emrick's voice is really annoying. I wish they would get rid of him and bring back Gary Thorne.
They need him back. I am tired of muting my tv and trying to sync up the radio lol.
Spunky_Bruiser U try to do the same sometimes
Skipped the fourth goal and the last goal...
Undressed Lundqvist:(
I never truly realized how much of a slaughter fest that Rangers series was until now .... Jesus, did the Rangers even care?
Rust carried
The lineup now is trash
Gay song
