THIS! People idolize the relationships back then, but not everything that glitters is gold. Some of our grandmas and great great grandmas were stalked, assaulted, and child brides that were stuck in loveless and abusive marriages. I legit just got my mom to realize this a couple years ago. I was like “Great grandma was 13 and great grandpa was 25 when they married and he beat her every day till he died….thats not a romantic fairy tale that you should aspire towards!!” My mom was in denial for a few years till it finally clicked for her recently lol
