That offense wasn't too bad, Alstott, Michael Pittman, Jurevicious, KJ, McCardell, didn't even need a top tier QB, just a QB to be smart with the ball. The 2020 offense is way better, the defense needs to bring that same passion that this Bucs defense had.

Bucs fan here however the 2000 Ravens and the 2002 Buccaneers Defenses have to be the best ever. Stat-wise they are almost identical and there are camps that give the Bucs the edge and other camps that give the Ravens the edge. It's been a while since I looked at why exactly but I believe it had to do with strength of schedule, and maybe points scored? two amazing defenses no matter how you look at it.

The defense carries the 2002 Buccaneers to victory in Super Bowl XXXVII, becoming one of the best defenses in NFL history (joining the 1985 Chicago Bears & 2000 Baltimore Ravens).

An argument could be made that this was a more exciting season than the TB12 era. It really came out of nowhere. No real expectations even though we paid dearly for Jon Gruden. I remember atmosphere in the Tampa Bay area after we dispatched the Eagles. There's never been anything like it since, even the Tom Brady years. Don't get me wrong, what TB12 did for our franchise was magnificent.
