    He is one of a kind, all alone up there with 8 division world championship, the greatest indeed. We may not see another phenom (all time great) like him in our life time. Manny Pacquiao, the fighting senator is the most entertaining boxer who started at 108 flywt up to 154 middle wt. So let’s just respect his achievements and appreciate his enjoyable show in the ring. Now being filthy rich, he is working on helping other people especially some poor people in the Philippines. Senator Manny Pacquiao is building not only schools and hospitals but also houses for free to the less fortunate, instead of buying luxurious items to show off. Thanks Senator for being a role model, a humble champion and philanthropist. too bad he is a Filipino, not American to be recognized as the greatest. But the world knows he is all alone up there with 8 belts.

    One measure of greatness is the drive to come up from the depth of defeat. So many boxers were so good until they encounter one big loss. Manny Pacquiao got KOd more than once and yet he is like a "daruma" doll, push it sideways and it will promptly come upright.

    I'm an old guy.....go way back to listening to weekly fights on radio with my Dad before we had electricity....had an old tube type radio with huge battery.....Dad only used it for two things: The crop and livestock markets and the fights.....nothing else....batteries cost a lot and didn't have much juice. We'd sit with kerosene lamp and listen in late 40's....50's. Many good fighters. I believe Manny Pacquiao will go down as the greatest because he took so many weight classes, didn't duck an opponents, and was a two-fisted fighter with the ability to adapt to opponents. Got a kick out of David on the video. Thanks for posting.

    At a time when a lot of house hold names were nearing the end of successful careers out of now where out poped Pac who bought EXCITEMENT attention to and the lower weight classes, his fights with Morales, Barrera & of course his nemesis Marquez (even tho all the fights bar the last were far from conclusive imho, arguably some fans Pac lost all the fights ) bought the eagerness for fans to get back with boxing, yes Mayweather was doing his stuff but he morphed in to Money May & that eagerness to exchange when he was "pretty boy" was gone.....i think that's why a lot of fans got behind the Manny train when he was finishing guys of that he had no business doing (yes, there is a cloud over him over that period)
    Idk maybe i'm just a fan boy of Pac who doesn't "know shit about boxing" lol, but i just loved Manny's style of boxing offense that pleased me, every time i paid my hard earned money to watch him fight i wasn't disappointed.
    Well, apart from the "Money fight"lol, which i personally think like the McGregor farce it was designed to fleece the public with both fights appeal to the "casual fan" it was truly about the money & hype not saying for a second that Pac could or would've beaten Floyd even if they fought back in 010/11, don't see anyone beating Floyd from this "era" anyway!!
    Even when Manny got KO'd by the nemesis Marquez up to that point that fight was so exciting edge of your seat stuff, that's what i'm talking about guys, sorry, didn't expect to go rambling.

    @MrLouieG If Floyd isn't in your top 10 most technical fighters then we really don't need to discuss anything further. However he does have weaknesses. One would be britlle hands. Two might be punch output. However when it comes to technical performance..he does everything right. Straight rights, jabs to head and body, left hooks thrown correctly. He can fight inside as well. Head movement and good lateral movment. On top of that he can do things unorthodoxed.

    @MrLouieG As for Morales he is a great technical fighter. Didn't Maidana land great shots? Of course he did and more than two shots... so your theory of Floyd getting hit by Shane and that shouldn't happen is just ridiculous. Shane is a world champion fighter with tons of experience. The fact that Floyd could then shut him down and walk him down the rest of the night which not even Vernon or Winky did goes to show you how skilled Floyd is.

    @0303gani0303 You've misunderstood me. Either that or I wasn't clear enough. A fighter can be trained to be his very best but not necessarily at the best he's ever been if he's damaged or is past his prime. For example, Mosley can have 3 months of training to be fit but that doesn't mean he'll be as good as he was 10 yrs ago. Hatton was a nice win for Pac but Ricky had lost a step, he wasn't at the highest point in his career. Cotto was a bit weight drained and struggled against Clottey.

    @spankybighead Před 13 lety +1

    @MrLouieG dude you have no idea what your talking about. First off in boxing no matter how good you are it does not mean you won't get hit. Floyd got hit twice by Shane. Shane connected to Cotto's chin way more than two times. In fact the Cotto vs Mosley was very close. Many people felt Shane should have gotten a rematch and some believe he beat Cotto. The Mayweather vs Mosley fight was not close. Floyd shut Shane down...Cotto did not shut Shane down.

As for Pac being as high as everyone rates him, I'll hold judgment until I see him beat young, strong guys like Bradley, Berto, etc. You can bring up Hatton or Cotto all you want but timing matters. At the time Pac fought them they weren't at their very best. Pac needs to fight guys who are hot, just like Floyd needs to fight Pac while he's on top of his game.

    @kashimkashim1 Well Clottey did punch...and when he did he had success. See..Pac can easily be hit. There are reasons why Pac had problems with JMM but easily beat Cotto, Margarito and Hatton. First off Hatton telegraphs every punch. If you think Roach didn't prepare Pac for that your crazy. Easy fight in my opinion and it was just that. Cotto? No lateral movement..flat footed. When Pac stood in front of Cotto he was not winning. Then Pac started to use the angles...easy win for Pac.

    @spankybighead Margarito? Please...he was never a very good boxer. Just a big strong welter weight who could take punishment but dish it out even better. Bottom line I never picked Cotto, Hatton or Margarito to beat Pac...being a true boxing fan I knew what would be exploited. Now when Pac faces Floyd he'll being facing "the" elite boxer. The truth of the matter is that Pacquiao does get hit often enough in fights to leave bruising. His defensive skills aren't as good as his offensive skills. Mosley wi'll be Pacquiao's most dangerous foe to date. It'll be interesting to see how Pacquiao handle Mosley's power, and how Mosley handle Pacquiao's relentless, seemingly endless combinations.

    anyways, on their prime? hmmm.. he did fought lucero and solis wich were undefeated at that time.. and barrera right in the heat of the barrera morales rivalry.. and i believe cotto is still on his prime he just beat the crap of yuri foreman after manny.. and cotto can still prolly beat mayweather of mayweather fights him..

    @MrLouieG...as for class A fighters Floyd fought a legend and class A boxer and champion in Genaro Hernandez and JMM. Both fighters..one in Floyd's early career and one late in his career got outclassed. Did JMM land a couple of good rights on Floyd? Yes..but that's boxing. However look at the way Floyd shut them out. Basically made them look like amatuers. Stop trying to make things up. Just say you hate Floyd and leave it at that.

  • @MrLouieG
    @MrLouieG Před 13 lety +3

    @spankybighead if floyd is really that good of a tactician why does he not he fight somebody who has athletic advantage over him just like morales facing better guys.floyd should have fought cotto in that way he could really prove his technique will win over any physical strength.he also commits so much mistakes fighting southpaws.as you can see morales southpaw or orthodox oponents he encounter he did not lose form.judah made floyd looked like a class b fighter just like himself.LOL!

    @zerofabian aside from marquez overpricing himself jst a dumb move from him arum and pac hve the best move picking mosley lets be honest marquez will not win at welter with pac it will not be as competative as mosleys 2nd they know mosley will retire anysoon probably these is mosleys last fight.mosley is still one of the biggest names in boxing and this will sell for sure.even though sometimes i dnt agree w arum he surely knows what his doing hes a great promoter.

    @MrLouieG Never said Corrales was a better athlete..Zab is. Corrales had power. JMM isn't athletic but I didn't say he was...he is a technician and he got picked apart. Genaro is also a technician with stamina..got out hustled and out boxed. Castillo is a great boxer...close fight 1st time, not so close the 2nd time he fought May. Mosley ducked May not the other way around. Shane went for the money against Oscar and left Floyd behind. Gotta talk facts buddy.

  • @MrLouieG
    @MrLouieG Před 13 lety +1

    @spankybighead it is always a great excuse to duck a fight.just like he goes to retirement when he is to face cotto,or he waits for young mosely to move up in weight and he moves up also,or telling margarito they both don't need to prove who is the best.all are true...true lies.LOL!

    If you've done things others haven't you can be candidate for GOAT. So if you think pac winning titles in 7 divisions and eing oldest WW champ makes pac GOAT then that's your call. If you prefer SRR then that's also fine.
    If you think Floyd is GOAT as he's unbeaten, we'll obviously that's not fine
