Take your time with the move man. And make sure you pack your garage stuff right, cause thats a pain in the ass to sort. Honestly, this is the best how to build an e36 strokers series on youtube. It is great how you show us your ups and downs and most importantly, how you tackle those issues. Keep the vids comming man, you've got fans eager to watch youd journey progres!
(PS, I'll be flying to the UK soon for some business. So I'll be on the lookout for a nice sounding E36! Haha)
Nice comment man. Thank you 👍
Have been eagerly waiting for this video . So pleased you are doing really well, learning so much, and most importantly "never giving up" ! Cheers mate
Thank you
love the channel mate keep us updated 👌🏻
Great videos and channel, man. Came across them after I picked up my own E36, and your vids have been the most interesting and informative that I've seen. Keep up the great work. Cheers from the US
Thanks for sticking with us 👍
Top man for updating us, hope the move goes well!
Thanks Ross
Good stuff Pamo keep it up.
Thsnks
Considering the 3L M54 rated at 231hp at the flywheel, yeah. I would expect at least something in the range of 190-200whp
Very interesting build!! Nice to see it documented so well. I built a m50b30 last year. It tortured me most of the way through.. I didn't tune it myself though. Kudos for trying that!! Took it to a guy called wayne at Chipwizards. He knows his stuff when it comes to BMW tuning. If you get stuck definately give him a try
Good advice. It's not all fun, there are times when you wonder if it's worth it 😁. The end result is worth a few smiles though.
@@ManSeeksCivic definitely worth it! End result is a torquey beast. I had the issue with the step at the top of the cylinder.. After buying the second block that was a little less terrible than the first, I had to get it bored out to 85mm. Then source 85mm pistons from the m44b19 engine... First engine build taught me a lot...
im going with 225-230bhp crank! good luck
great video, what program do you use to modify the fuel and ignition tables on the ECU?
RomRaider to edit
MS41 Quickflash to write
Good video mate. Glad to see some results. Mine is going back together over the next few days.
Once you have the tuning file complete is it something you will share/sell?
I'd be happy to share it but as described in another comment... Its specific and may not be ideal for another setup.
Pamo pretty much most of tuning files in internet are specifics and they run enough good so its not a big problem I think...it going to run better than nothing for sure
@@ManSeeksCivic I use romraider for editing files but our table only goes up to 6500, I see from your videos you can edit higher than 6500. Are we missing something?
@@GaragE36uk To tune, I've understood that you don't need the axis to go higher. It can be extended with the fuel/ load axis tables.
What cams do you have there? Sorry I haven't seen all your videos yet.. 😥
M54b30 intake cam
M50b25nv intake cam being used as an exhaust cam.
@@ManSeeksCivic how to time intake cam on exhaust side in m50 engine ?? Pls i need this info
Check my video on the build playlist regarding head install, or you can now buy adjusted timing blocks - search Google for "m50nv timing blocks" 👍
@@DaniloMarkovic-jz5pk or use a dial test indicator gauge through the spark plug hole to establish the position of the piston and adjust cam accordingly. I guess if uncertain about the procedure its better ask a qualified technician to do it for you.
Have you given up on finishing the fto gearbox
No, I apologise for the lack of updates. The BMW took over at the end of last year and we are currently moving house - this weekend. The fto gearbox videos are all filmed but need quite a lot of editing and are being worked on slowly.
Brilliant can’t wait
You do good work keep it up ma man 👍
Are you a little disappointed with that or what you were expecting
Good luck on the move
Not really, it is clearly not there tuning wise so I know it's got more to give... I just have to unlock it. Thanks for the good wishes.
Isnt there a good proven tune that you can use?
The problem with this game is that no 2 tunes are the same and the only way to maximise your cars potential is to tune yourself. There are simply too many variables to contend with. Sure I could prob find a relatively good tune... But it would never be the best and more importantly... I like the learning process. I'm making some wins here and some losses there but overall I'm learning how the dme works and that info is valuable for my mechanical knowledge and future plans.
Pamo Ah yes, the learning part is definitely something worth too. I‘m sure the current gains are 75% in the right direction. I feel there is something of a 40-50 hp to be gained from tuning it correctly.
it must be over 230 hp when you get the tune right?! O_o
It should be somewhere in that region 😊
Hi pamo
I have the same number with m52b28 and m50 manifold, because I use the m50 IAT sensor (inteke air temperatur), but when i fit m52 IAT sensor the number are change.
Let me know if you fix.
I'm sorry Davide, but I'm not sure what you mean. I use the m52 IAT. The m50 IAT is not compatible with the Siemens Dme. It outputs the wrong signal and causes issues with the map on the Dme.
Can i buy your tune?
I'd never sell such a thing as I'm a novice and couldn't assure the safety of the tune on another car. I'm happy to help guide you.
Those dyno numbers are weird.
What they claim to be flywheel hp really seem like wheel hp kinda numbers...
That's what confused me before... Along with the operator confirming they were wheel
you're forgiven. but not for moving :P
Thanks for sharing. Obvious question is how does it run with stock tune? I’ve done similar mods to my motor minus 3L crank and run stock tune. Works fine. I haven’t dyno it but I’ve been beating on it for 8 months with no issues. Quick acceleration video of mine.
m.czcams.com/video/6WEgNQHYZP4/video.html
It runs fairly well with the stock usm3 tune but no where near optimal Tiit. I've tweaked lots on the map now and can say fairly well that it benefits hugely from fuel and ign changes. The displacement change and cams mean that it exceeds the 328 maf capability and wants quite a few degrees ignition here and there.
Thanks. I should look in to it.
