- Do you love Dawn Of War but struggle online? Well, this guide will help you improve your game with a simple build order for Necrons.
By simple use of hotkeys and an easy-to-follow build order, you will be able to stomp the AI on any difficulty and put up a solid fight online.

Man, i miss the old dark crusade tournament videos on youtube. I remember a few great matches from World Cyber Games. Good game.
Oh man those old tournaments were wild, still shocks me how lively the scene remains to this day
I usually go for 3 gens, 2 builders, necron lord, 3 warriors, SC, 2 flayed ones who can come to support the lord while he harrasses if needed, then port them back to the monolith to do the same later. Basically my lord distracts enemies and blows up gens/LPs while I build up my warriors, immortals and vehicles for an assault, adding gens at the same time.
Helped me out a lot. Went from being overpowered by standard AI to them not having a chance on earth. Seems like my playstyle was the issue. Winning seems like a much better playstyle lol
Really digging your Necron commentary (both this video and the Necron vs SM one) ; 3 friends convinced me to buy the game to play some 2v2s and FFAs but since I've never played a DoW game before and they're all sweatyhands DoW1 veterans I was feeling rly overwhelmed, and these vids are proving very useful !

Fellow guard main! IMO the best way to deal with them is either to stay around a turret/fortified LP, or to deck out your command squad with priests (I usually replace one with a psyker so I don't get trashed by Rangers, but you don't have to) so you can at least try to hold them back.

Hey i just started playing soulstorm again. What are the top factions in your opinion? I really wanna pick a main and wreck my mates at one of our throwback LAN parties. Thank you for the quality content btw 😇
If you're looking for a top race I'd say Orks and Eldar stand above the rest but Tau is another strong one however their early game can be tough.
Dark Eldar are also incredible but they require a very different philosophy to play despite basically always having the same opener. It's outside of the DE opener that a good gut feeling really becomes the strongest asset

@@DarthNov So with Tau, stealth suits are great early for capping and uncapping things but don't try to all in with them as their damage is bad. Vespids and Commander micro are your key to early victory until fire warriors and vehicles come online.
Dark Eldar always dark foundry never go halls of blood as warriors are terrible and while the archon is good he can't carry an overpriced underpreforming infantry core.
For eldar, dark reapers and warp spiders are your friends, the farseer is best kept in a squad safely shooting and using her powers as she's fragile. Also fire dragons in a transport with fleet of foot are a powerful tool to go around lightning fast to blowup their everything such as LPs and Gens

@@DarthNov Hmm truth be told I'd probably go with Dark Eldar for getting your bearings. They aren't overwhelmingly micro intensive and don't really have any bad matchups, but even if you decide they aren't for you they absolutely will teach you the fundamentals of map control, decision making, map awareness, micro and aggression.
These lessons they can give will translate into any race in different ways so I value them for newer players and rusty players wanting to get back into the thick of it.

I'd love to see some Guard builds as I played IG and Necron exclusively back in the day.

If you were facing Orks, why no Flayed Ones?
Because they just get trukk microed to death, you're better off going wraiths on T2 once you get their research from summoning core(that sweet sweet shooting resistance). Best you'll get out of flayed ones would maybe be like... I dunno gen busting on a deepstike?

Yes, yes they do! Buuuut I tend to panic in difficult situations or be forgetful 😅 we all make mistakes here and there

That's really slow though. It took you 4 minutes to scout out the middle of the map and a total of 5 minutes to scout your opponents base.
Intel is everything in RTS games; playing blind is a guaranteed loss vs a good opponent. That's my opinion from a life time of RTS games anyway.
I played as necrons against someone online who was also necrons. They had way more power than I did. I watched back and his opening was to build 8 generators simultaneously for 50power each. Is this a cheat?

So I have used UA for like some race mods and such but it tends to break soulstorm badly enough that you'd have to clean install it like... 3 times
@@Kazrim That's a shame! I've only had UA for a few weeks but haven't had any issues other than crashing while using the mod. Base game seems to work exactly the same! Time to try again?

This is not that good of a guide for total noobs like some of us are. You're clicking fast as fuck using terminology foreign to us and not really explaining. I mean I can try and copy what you're doing but I personally like to know your process of thinking and your decision making.
Yeah particularly the process of thinking part.
That is so important for making students more plastic instead of following a cookie cutter.
Tips I've found while playing:
necrons need energy.
Build a lot of generators.
Builders and warrior are free so build them early.
Use destroyers when you get them, fast and deadly but fragile.
Build obelisks, you need them.
Use frayed ones to attack enemy base.
Lord's teleport is spamable, use it to scout, escape and aggressive plays.
Immortals are squishy and need cover.
Pariahs are very tanky, use them as shields against elite units.
Make sure to buy the warrior upgrade, it doubles your damage.
Use spiders to quickly build more units, they instantly spawn without a build time.
Pair up necron lord with Pariahs.
And most importantly, be aggressive..
Forgot a very important tip.
Make sure to use your turrets, specially to defend a plasma generator.
