Good video, i just wanted to say that I have been using this wash all summer. I have to point out that their specific wash mit you mention makes a huge difference. That "flat" side of the wash mit seems to buff the ceramic into the paint and helps it bond to the paint. I really like the wash and i'll continue to use it.

Hi Pan, I’ve been using this a couple of washes so far. I wasn’t aware of the suds disappearing quickly, thanks for letting me know it was expected. My results were kind of skewed as i used it first then used the hybrid ceramic wax (yellow bottle) afterwards. I top it all off with their quick detailer polymer spray product. I get some very good beading up from the morning dew and it sheets off quite quickly when turning or stopping. I’m going to give it a few more tries and see how consistent it is. Ill have to switch over to their SIO2 detail spray to see if that improves things. Thanks for providing very informative product reviews.

When used by itself on a vehicle with no protection, I guess that's what you get. However, I've used this on a 1-year old ceramic coated car and had great results. It made my water beading insane! So I'd recommend using this to do maintenance washes on an already coated car but wouldn't personally use it on a non-coated car. Far better products out there for that.
    Great video again! Cheers!!

I just bought this stuff yesterday , and I love it. My 23 x3M bmw is black with black wheels, and I like how this works. I didn’t add 3 cap fulls of the soap like you did. I added 1 cap full of the soap and a .5 oz of the ceramic to the 3 gal bucket, however my car was already protected. As soon as I applied the wash solution to my car it was already beading.

Yes! it does work if you do not dilute Mequair's Hybrid Ceramic Wash and Wax with water and use it at full strength. Pour both the Sio2 and Ceramic Wash together and mix. Spray down your car with water, don't allow the car to dry completely but while still wet use the backside cloth part of the Meguiar's Mitt soaked in the ceramic wash and wax solution with the Sio2, wash your car in sections. Also, allow it to stand for 60 to 90 seconds before rinsing it off. Yeah! it is costly. Use protective (Nitril) gloves for your hands and work in a well ventilated area.

But my question has to do with the ceramic product. When you apply a ceramic coating, you can't reuse the towels or applicators because of the now crystaline product after it's dry. Can you reuse towels, etc. after a ceramic wash&wax or ceramic topper? Thanks for the videos. Keep up the good work.

I prefer leather sealants and leather coatings. Modern leather is coated (like a clear coat on your paint) so conditioners don't penetrate that top protective layer. Hence why all that is needed is to clean the leather, and then protect it against dye transfer, friction damage and fading/cracking.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 2 lety +2

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Let me share my thoughts.
First, Meguiar’s doesn’t state on the instructions that you absolutely need their special wash mitt. If you absolutely needed it, they should have included it as a kit. And that would make the price go up higher. It’s already expensive for what it is in my opinion.
I followed the instructions to a T. I actually went above and beyond by watching their own videos on the product and saw they were only drizzling the SiO2 on top and not agitating with a pressure washer afterwards as most people would do. And I even worked the SiO2 into the wssh mitt as per their “tricks” which isn’t even mentioned in the instructions.
I also stayed near the surface as per their video and didn’t dunk the mitt all the way to the bottom. Again, this isn’t even mentioned in the instructions. So the average consumer wouldn’t even be aware of all the hoops you have to go through to make sure this product works as promised. Can you see how many potential failure points there are here?
So my conclusions are as follows:
      1. It seems you do need their special wash mitt or a low pile towel. As it’s not written on the bottle, I can imagine how many people will run into the same issues.
      2. If you do need their mitt, the price of owning that system is too expensive in my opinion.
      3. I’m not a fan of ceramic infused shampoos in general, but there are other ones that are less expensive per ounce and work better with no special instructions or tools needed.
      4. The fact that you can’t use this product with common sense and thay you have to learn tricks to use it properly makes no sense to me. This is made for the general public and most people don’t even read the instructions. So for the execution, this product doesn’t do it for me.
Now, I really like Meguiar’s as a brand and they usually make pretty good products, some being stellar. But this one just didn’t do it for me and that’s ok. I respect other opinions and if it works for you, keep on using it. 👍🏻

The fact you would need to use their mitt, or a special mitt for that matter, just makes this a product I can't recommend. Also keep in mind most people don't even read instructions, and even less on a what is just supposed to be a shampoo. I think Meguiar's made this too complicated in my opinion, when there are other less expensive products that you don't have to jump through hoops to use. But again, just my 2 cents. And that's coming from a guy who actually likes Meguiar's products. I think they could have done better here.

The more that I’ve done this the water beading has increased. I do use the Meguiars mit to spread the Sio2 on the vehicle doing sections at a time. For the time it takes I’m happy with it. Going to use a better ceramic wax on the vehicle used this to determine if I really wanted to go to the extra cost and work for the better products available. 26:05

Interesting review. I’ve had better luck with Griots Ceramic wash but find that it’s also a little finicky and you need to wash small parts of the car at a time to ensure it doesn’t dry on the surface.
It seems to have better results, but regardless, I’ve gone back to using a typical shampoo without any wax or SiO2 and just using a good drying aid or adding something after drying for protection instead.

I have tried the product. One of their videos I watched stated that the purpose for their 2-sided mitt is the microfiber on the second side is specifically designed to pick up the SIO booster from the surface of the wash mixture as some microfiber it would just sheet off the fibers so you really did not get much on the vehicle. I can say you could tell a difference when following those directions, when washing with the wash side it felt normal, when you flipped the mitt over and started wiping you could feel the "slickness" start to improve. I saw very good beading following those directions. I don't know what to expect as far as longevity but it does appear their mitt does have a very real purpose in obtaining the best results.

@@PanTheOrganizer I agree, they should rewrite the instructions to note that if you don't use the mitt you will be missing an unknown percentage of whatever benefits it has. I can understand them not bundling as a mitt should last for more than one bottle. I tried it as I needed to do a quick cleanup on a vehicle that needed some protection until the weather allowed me to do a more thorough cleanup, I too prefer a single purpose wash in most cases.
It will definitely not be my goto product but nice to have on hand for when it will be useful. I also agree the price is too high at normal retail, I ran across a promotion and was able to purchase the bottle and the mitt for around $22 USD.

I think you can achieve better results for a similar price by using a pure shampoo and a dedicated spray sealant or spray coating like the ones you mentioned. I think if you can spare an extra 30 minutes to an hour on top of the washing process, going with Pans preference will yield more benefits.
What many people don't understand with these products is that they perform best when the car is prepped properly. Pan mentioned it in this video but having a pre-wash and claying or using an iron removal product will create a fresh surface for the protection to bond to. Cheers!

I agree, honestly not to throw shade to any brands, respectfully, I think Soaps "infused" with wax/seal/si02 are just a scam. Even if the product did work, to think that you would have to wash your whole car with that soap and once you get to the dry process a film is left on the surface. Not to mention, if you miss a spot, it will leave some very harsh streaks that are difficult to remove, especially on glass, which will just cake your towels with "infused" residue.

    Hi everyone,
Thanks Pan for this. I had not watched this video before using this product (in Adelaide Australia last month - April 2022) and also did not have the correct (recommended) mitt to apply it with. I simply used a foam sponge, and then within around 15 seconds just low pressure hosed the panel without even trying to work in into the surface after wiping it on. The result was vastly superior to what I saw in this video. I really cant fault this product. The paint was similar to what you had as well so I am a little confused as to why it didn't work for you. With simply one application and a gentle hose off the results were SUPER! I will now have a look at all the results below and see if anyone else feels the same way. I am very impressed with the product and after a month the car still looks very good for such an easy one step process : - )

I assume u would need to have already applied their liquid wax or ceramic spray wax. The shampoo is just a 'topper' not a last stage protection. If you're looking products to test may I suggest the bilt hamber range.

Hmmmm.... The only thing I saw straight away was that it enhanced the swirls on the bonnet or hood... I think it would be best used as part of a line of Meguires products as a maintenance wash once the car has been ceramic or graphene waxed..??? And use the specific Meguires wash mitt.

Hi Pan. Im a big fan of you and your video's.
But for this test you should try it on a coated surface.
Here in the Netherlands they are selling this as a kit. The shampoo comes with a 2 sided mitt.
That mitt really makes the difference. When you decide to do a test with this product on a coated car, make the mixture with your hands and not wih a pressurewasher.
You will sure feel the difference, when you you use the Meg. mitt.
Kind regards and keep up the good work.

Thanks for sharing your experience. However, for this test, if I had used a vehicle that already had protection on it and had water beading, people would complain that you can't really see if the soap does anything as the vehicle was already beading water. ;)

      @@PanTheOrganizer I understand your idea.
In the bevinning i was also sceptic about it. But now i now the difference. You should realy try the special mitt the next time.
I saw there was still enough in the bottle to try this product again.
      Wim.
