The amount of people moving in close to something they were told was a bomb is absolutely mind boggling.
It was a different time, well before 911 & global terrorism.
To be fair, they wont do that again
Like folk touching paint on a surface to see if it's still wet. Lol
It's better to err on the side of caution, especially in a country with a history of IRA bombings (which were often placed in bags) so I genuinely don't understand how these people behaved in such a manner?
@tessfabled4115 Probably the sort of people who failed their o levels at school. Because they were to smart anyway. Complete dunderheads. People shouldn't be in positions of responsibility if they can't be responsible.
A man rang the police to report a bomb that he didn't think was a bomb- and so he decided to ignore the instructions from the police? Why did he bother to call them in the first place?
I think his security guard told him to call the police. More likely he was like okay, okay.
@@elhuddleston17 ohh, well innocent London really grew up that day - no way you'd get people crowding around a bomb now
What an idiot. Happens all the time. Some people in jobs who are not mentally competent to do that job. Dangerous idiotic behaviour. Didn't know what yo do. Even when the police told him standard procedure. He decides not to implement that.

so bizarre. Moving the bomb around 3 different times on both occasions. And one man even taking the bomb out so he could keep the bag?? Just a strange story
Brits 🤡
That neighbourhood is full of people that have a tendency to steal so there's that.
It’s Brixton, people aren’t so bright there
Well they thought they were getting a head bag for free .HEAD BAGS WERE VERY EXPENSIVE IN THE 90S I was desperate for one but my mum said they cost too much . I would have risked my life for a leather head bag 😂😂
0 IQ inbreds haha
In 1993 the Tesco superstore I worked in as a security officer had a bomb threat called in.
I couldn't believe the management's reaction to It!! They were blasé and ignored my instruction and just told all staff to be "aware" and went back to work!!! Absolute clowns
your pfp guess you were management
"There was no warning".... 10 minuten after ignoring calls about a bomb and basically telling a guy he's an idiot after noticing a strange bag with nails, wires and a timer in it
They mean from the bomber, ira would give a warning
The great unwashed. Tragically this is the country we all live in. Appalling and astonishing. Abject stoooooooopidity.
Doesn't make a lot of sense for people to gather 'round what's thought to be a bomb😮 I'd have been getting myself out of the area not wanting to go up and take a look at it.
Anybody with any sense would have.

absolutely baffling! These people are fascinated by bombs

Wow what a casual attitude about a potential bomb-
Yep i concluded likewise- especially considering that police were stooped over examining something that would soon explode - maybe not surprising considering nothing similar had happened- YET. And sadly that naivety would soon vanish forever
He took the bomb out the bag… and took the bag. 😂😂 🙈

That one bloke/fellow even takes things that's "nailed down"... Yikes!

I would say naiveté, not stupidity. I felt frustrated personally. It takes an evil person to want to hurt others like this.

RIP to the people who died, its unbelievable that someone could think in the way he did.
It’s not that unbelievable. You just have to be conditioned by society in a certain way.
You fell for the spin...with an IQ of a 12yr old,who built those devices? The unaliving of a certain TV personality is directly linked, it was a,"Look over here?" moment, to deflect attention, by those really behind it!
Welcome to Terrorism
People in London soon forgot all about the 1970s when just the sight of an abandoned bag would send people running!! IRA bombs were often abandoned holdalls!! Even taking the bomb out and stealing the bag - put it in your car!! NUMPTIES!! 😳
RIGHT?!!🤦🏻♀
IRA attacked pubs frequented by soldiers. They also gave warnings to civilians to stay away.
The IRA were still killing in targeted attacks and against civilians during the 80s on mainland U.K they killed many Royal Marines ( school of music ) from my home town in Deal in 1989.
No one forgot about the IRA.
These idiots forgot tho.. RIP to your friends@@wendyhart134
So they told him to evacuate and he went “nah, lemme take a closer look”
Innit?! I've posted about that DIV too. Unbelievable! I live in West Norwood, I'm in Brixton on a regular basis.
It's Unbelievable that a group of people would go stand next to a perceived Bomb and just hang around like its a Toy...
THE MIND BOGGLES...!!!
We were terrified .Me and my friends were there and nearby alllllll the time. Both in the market and in Old compton st.
Did you also go towards a suspected bomb to have a look? 😂
Sorry but I can't get over how careless people were. OK if you don't panic, but WHAT reason would you have to go to it only to have a look. To quench your curiosity..
6 life sentences and you recommend he should serve a minimum of 35 years?
Utterly pathetic sentence.
We have LWOP. Look it up.
Yes, but people sentenced to life without parole have also been released, many before 35 years. I think the earliest one I can remember was 12 years, after killing a baby.
@@Erebus.666. LWOP means just that. NO ONE sentenced to LWOP is ever paroled. Good grief. Look it up ffs.

His "i feel nothing" reminds me of the evan peters' character in American horror story
In the nid 90s i moved to London for a chef job with my boyfriend .we had to many bags and so when we were in the underground we would move one bag 5 metres and then go and get the other bags and so on .within 20 seconds of doing this we almost caused a bomb scare on the underground. Everyone was so alert to suspicious bags or parcels left unattended because of the IRA. So I'm surprised that people weren't more cautious when they saw the unattended bag. Because those days people did used to live in fear of the IRA
The way this was dealt with is shocking.
“I mean I could see the shrapnel, the timer and the wires and it looked like a bomb and all, but I didn’t bother evacuating the area cuz it couldn’t be a bomb, right?”
6 life sentences = 35 years? I'd argue those are poor math skills. Fortunately, I don't think he's getting out ... ever.
That's a whole new level of stupidity.
That kid was cracked on his noggin'...
Why was the information about the fireworks shared? Wish they would remove that portion of the video
I think someone wanted to keep the bag. Why on earth would you even move it?
😳😳it was obviously a bomb. People's behaviour is beyond belief. Its a bomb...RUN
How foolish all those who treated this as a hoax.
Question is, why didn't he ask the bomb squad to disable the bomb or move it to a remote area.
Cus he wanted the leather head bag .they were expensive back in the 90s 😂
Im five minutes in and this market is filled w dummies.
Sorry to the victims. Maybe next time call the police in the first 1hr
I don’t understand when I deal with we clearheaded area and get the police to resolve and here the police take it seriously that is in South Africa. I don’t understand how everyone was casual including the police not very good it’s a disregard for people safety.
I was due to meet a friend in The Admiral Hardy that night. We were both late.
Not mentioned, the Brick Lane police station was closed. Ergo, the chap with the bomb in his boot couldn't get police attention prior to that explosion. I had been on the phone with my little brother, who lived in Brixton when the first one detonated. I witnessed/experienced and reacted to the Admiral Hardy incident. Had never had to use an eyeliner to mark tourniquet times in my first aid training. Improvisation was the order of march that terrible evening. Horrendous injuries. It still lives in my memory and always will. 18 years later, the Manchester Concert Bombing killed my cousin. Fourth time unlucky, I guess.
They gathered round to get a look at the bomb 💣 😅
your jumping 2 conkiers ons 🤣
In fairness, it is a difficult balancing act because, on the one hand, we don't want to be too nonchalant and just pick up a bag we see lying around somewhere presuming that it's just a harmless bag that someone left or forgot, that would be very foolish and naive, yet, at the same time we don't want to go over the top, cause panic and get a whole street shut down over what might turn out to be just a bag of tools or shopping that someone might have simply forgotten. Not many will thank you for that either.
So, where do we draw the line?🤔 Well, that's the problem, nobody really knows, not even the police. Remember, the emergency services will be getting calls all of the time and they have to make a quick judgement as to whether the danger is real or someone just being hysterical, or someone pranking them or if it's the real deal. Someone might call the emergency services when they see a bag on the floor and when the police or possibly bomb disposal experts turn up and it transpires it was just an empty bag or something, they might be made to feel like a fool who has wasted their time, even though it might not be said in so many words.
In hindsight, if someone ignores a bag that has been left around or moves it and if it turns out to be an explosive device and someone is injured or killed, people will criticise others and say "Hey, you shouldn't have picked it up and put it over there, you should have just left it and called the police" and "You should have done this" and "You should have done that" etc but that's all with the benefit of the aforementioned hindsight.
We all live in the moment, not in hindsight. Remember, it's the terrorists who are to blame, not innocent members of the public who may have been naive, and terrorists only have to be lucky once, we have to be alert ALL the time, 24/7 and realistically, that's actually not possible, so we need to give each other a break and not be so critical of someone who might have done things differently to how you think you would have, you don't really know unless you're in that exact moment and that exact situation. Thanks.
The bomb in Brixton has a strange sub plot.
Opposite the Iceland store eye witness said they saw people on the roof taking photos of the street below.
This was a couple of minutes before the blast.
This was touched on in the crimewatch programme shortly after the bombing.
Jill Dando seems to have realised its significance on camera, but this information was never taken any further..she was killed that weekend.
Now, the building i have talked about has a strange sculpture placed on it.
Its a fox and a couple of cherries.
This was not part of any remembrance and if you ask locals most were not even aware of it, it seems to have been erected overnight at some point.
As for the bomber... he wore the same white baseball cap whilst placing each bomb. Making himself very visible even on the small amount of cameras of the time..
In my opinion theres more to this, suggesting other players in this case. The 2 red flags being the people on the rooftop taking pictures prior to the blast and the white baseball cap.. a basic intelligence technique used to track their own people in crowded and urban areas.
As for Jill Dando... maybe she was assassinated because she knew too much.
It has as much validity as all the other mooted reasons.
Jill was killed by Serbians. Not everything is a conspiracy.
This case has Gerry "The GPO Enginner" written all over it.

Not one had the sense to either put it in an empty concrete or stone walled room, boot of a car under a front seat of a car etc.
To be honest I wouldn’t have done any of the things you’ve suggested. I would have called the police definitely but thinking of where to put it? No. I would have stayed away from it like some people did at first
And don't cover the bomb with blankets or anything....
Who were the men spotted on the roof across the road before this happened.

yes, yes, yes. they all acted foolishly. However, the fact that the police were able to pick the guy out in 1999 CCTV! Amazeballs! those folks are the very beginning of what the Brits now call super recognizers. leave it to the British to find specific jobs for one’s specific talent, even something not thought of as a talent is a talent! I believe every culture and every country can learn from this type of celebration in one’s potential. Every human being would be able to have a job if the world operated this way. Every human being can do some thing super well that no one else can possibly do.
Why did the first guy not call the police straight away
And the second guy went to find a police station, why didn’t he phone
