OH MY GOD i had that pirates of the caribbean wheel game where you took control of a ship and fought off enemies and the kraken while you went from port to port. IT. WAS. AWESOME. i even finished the whole game (with a minor exploit where you could farm a shitton of gold in the end bossbattle-arena or so)..... i miss my 4th gen ipod nano T_T

As for those $1-2 fake Ipod shuffles, I had a few of them (the ones that look like a 2nd gen shuffle, but much thicker). I can confirm that the amplifier inside does sound like total turd - not only there is A LOT of hiss, but you can hear the processor or the microsd card doing its thing, you know like 50s-60s science fiction computer noises, in the background. The battery lasts for 2-3h and the player gets warm when playing. But the worst thing about some (but not all of them) is that it gets to the first song when you turn it off or discharge the battery, so any card bigger than 2GB makes no sense - you will wear out the skip forward button (and probably contract mental illness from the sound "quality") before you reach the last song. And as a card reader, they work at USB 1.1 speed. But to be honest, if you want to add a cheap customizablesound effect to something like a doorbell or a toy, or get a 60-90mAh battery for cheap, those could be worth buying. Not as a music player, but as a source of parts.

The reason for left only audio is because you plugged in to a 1/4” jack on your board. That’s only mono. You have to use 2 channels for that

I remember that when I was a kid I used to have an MP4 player that was a clear bootleg of the iPod Nano 3rd gen, it was okay, even it had tetris lmao, the only problem it had was that it had an integrated speaker that never turned off, if you connected something into the audio jack it would still blast at full volume, so that basically set the whole device useless

Several years ago I bought a fake 2nd gen ipod shuffle for a single dollar, I used that thing all the time until I broke the buttons off when I dropped it on the kitchen floor, years later I found another one and I snatched that sucker right up! Still don't regret it even though it didn't shuffle. 7:06 And mine even looked like the real thing lol.

My last apple product was a third gen ipod touch, then I switched to android and I've been with samsung ever since. I think they truly accelerated portable technology in the beginning, but they haven't made enough advancements/breakthroughs to prove more worthy than the competition

On your recommendation I bought a white shuffle knockoff. It came with the lanyard, and was also made by the format itself 😂 Pleasantly surprised! Plays my MP3s, sounds good, looks like the real deal, and is easy to use.

Little audio mixers are totes underrated. I used a Behringer four channel mixer in my younger days to record drum demos with a buddy. And Yamaha makes good stuff

Seeing the old shuffles unlocked a memory the time I had a Phillips GoGear MP3 player (The SA018102K/97, so catchy!) that I used to wear around my neck with some lanyard headphones. The buttons were really stiff on the sides, and pressing the front to play/pause was quick and easy... Too easy, as sometimes it would press itself against my chest while I was walking. And the battery went within a year, which is absurd and made me wish I'd bought the extended warranty.
I literally have an ipod nano for years... It's just much cheaper (26€) and not an Ipod brand but works fine and very thin, also its 🆒
I have a nano too. But I want more space. I have music, audiobooks, and video's. And 16 GB starts to run out.
Sadly they disbanded the classic.
And they have made it where it can even connect to iTunes anymore.
And I always hated the iPod touch. Because it's basically just an iPhone.
