"COME OOOOOON!"
"Shut uuuuuup..."
Haha a classic Gervais-Pilkington exchange
Poor Karl, then again he couldn't get the clue right as Ricky was messing around in Karl's office trying to spray deodorant all over the place. Karl was really annoyed in this episode, as clearly shown when he was reading the last clue in that soft, sad voice:
Karl: "The place where yer go, teh...take yer dog a walk 'an that"
Ricky: THE..THE...THE PLACE WHERE YER GO, TEH TAKE YER DOG A WALK"
Karl: "Oh, forget it then." *Plays a link*
And then Ricky and Steve yelling "No do it! Do it!" In the background as Karl fades them out. Haha, brilliant! Makes me laugh every time!
One of my favourite xfm moments
Dehh im a broadcastah
@@timj9944 “words are my tool”
This was brilliant. 😂
'Garlic Bread' had me in tears 😂😂😂
absolute genius
@@ejayman i don't get the joke
@@_barncat "Garlic Bread" is a classic Peter Kay joke/bit from his stand up. It'll be on youtube!
I always take comfort in listening to these. Even though these were recorded in the 2000s, it feels like they were recorded yesterday.
There's some slightly ropey jokes from Gervais and Smerch lol albeit sarcasm and satire, but wouldn't fly at all these days
Apart from the Daniel Bedingfield,Rik Waller,Chris Moyles references. And Dido,Jono Coleman..
GARLIC BREAD!
"What CDs did I get, for working for this place... For 6 YEARS."
This is ONE OF the best episodes.
"his little legs"
The garlic bread bit always makes me laugh
I have heard these all about a million times and they've yet to get old!
+Liverbird I think it's because they time it takes to listen to all 90 (92?) you've forgotten the first. It's a cyclical thing.
I laughed out loud at "Phil Colons" even though I knew it was coming
Agreed! I think I'm one of the few that has literally listened to these, each and every day, for well over a decade.
Used to download them through LimeWire..
@@mistervanderveer yeah absolutely! i've been listening on repeat since 2007 :/
"Gahlic bread?"
The segment where Karl edits himself into movie scenes are actually quite clever.
All of them are great! Especially when you can hear Ricky laugh in the background
The original deepfake
garlic bread
You can tell Ricky loves them, and he usually hates most of Karl’s features.
Couldn’t agree more. They’re really good
3:22 'play a record, you ungratefullittleswiine' 😂😂😂😂😂
Midnight before exam... can't resist watching
+EvoqueG I'm exactly the same I thought I was the only one haha
"Alright, that's that. Next week, prisms or whatever." LOL
Unit 1: Sex ED
Unit 2: Prisms
classic
Man Moth, you're a champion of the people for loading this series on. Thank You!
Love how Karl always goes 'err...' before reading out the Rockbusters answers, like he's thinking 'right, get this one out quickly so Ricky doesn't notice it's wrong'.
Haha definitely
Exactly!
Deli meat tree was a belter
I loved ‘De Trout Spinners’

"I don't like moaning"
- Karl Pilkington, 2003
I know! Jesus. I don't think he ever stops moaning lol.
InsidiousWolf "not to be critical" - Steven Mitchell
It's a Manc thing inn
it......
@Derek Knight Or you, apparently.
I must’ve listened to this a hundred times and 19:02 never fails to make me laugh my ass off. The way he says “it is shite” is the stuff of legend.
It's brilliant 🤣
I need to bake her 😭😭😭
On national radio in the afternoon. If this happened in 2023 they’d be cancelled haha
I’ve never noticed before, but at 57:07 you can hear Steve scream ‘Karl, for goodness sake!’. Each time I start a new round I always hear something in each episode that I never have previously.
Same, or I catch a joke that slipped between the cracks
“If I was a milkman you wouldn’t go here’s two bottles of semi skimmed, happy Christmas!”
Classic Karl line there when he’s fed up
Fair point tbh
Listen to there every night while I try go to sleep. Always end up laughing so I can never get to sleep.
I literally do exactly the same, these are amazing
+robert gettings ditto! everynight without fail :P :)
Robert Gettings Or I start to drift off and then Ricky screeches and jolts me full awake 😲😲
I always dall asleep but then the playlist keeps playing and I forget where I was😁
that moment when Gervais goes "COME ONNNN" AND Karl SAYS "shuuuuuut uppppppp" encapsulates how annoying Ricky can get...So so funny...Rickys laugh never fails to put a smile on my face
22:02 😂
Ricky's laugh is well annoying! It's so loud!

The way Karl says "...special needs..." at 7:43, trying to get Ricky to laugh 😂
Listening to Ricky introduce Bowie 12 years ago seems fucking nuts now... RIP
I love the way Ricky says "It is 'shite'" 19:05
Michael Collins "Notttt true babyyy"
"Ohhh, sorry, sooooryyyy, I didn't know it was SHITE"
“That’s not cryptic, that’s shiiiit....”
It's not weird, it's incompetent.
Came looking for this bit. Cheers!
Rickys voice is twice as loud as the other two. Wish they were levelled so i could fall asleep without ricky cackling
+zedooncadhz yeah I really don't understand the mixing, in S1 it was exceedingly poor and in S2 it was mixed a lot more professionally, but S3 gets worse? Makes no sense hahaha
Blame the producer.
It's shocking. I'm constantly altering the volume control.
@@space3717 he’s not a producer
"and that's that.. next week prisms" 😂
I genuinely think that Steve has always made up what's been said on emails, he's always conveniently on emails 😂
I've wondered that! 🤔 😉
They probably aren't even dressed
I have always believed he made up dickers but apparently he has posted on a reddit group. 😂
"I will smite you with my sword" always kills me
"His little legs" so funny it made karl laugh
Ricky's laugh at the end of Scrooge was the best!!!! haha!!!
The funniest rockbusters. I nearly died the first time I heard Ricky go "RIGHT THIS IS ROCKBUSTERS WITH KARL PILKINGTON GO". One of my favourite moments
19:03 - the way Ricky says 'shite' gets me every time
Am I the only one that was quite impressed with how quickly Ricky came up with a clue to Anita Baker that worked so quick? Was good lol
Ricky clapping to perk Karl up and yelling "come on!" is one of the most annoying things to have ever been on radio. And he does it's on several episodes. Love that finally here Karl says "shuttt uuuupppp!" through clenched teeth.
Whenever someone I know says they went on holiday to Lanzarote, I just smile, nod and think - really?
Lanzagrote
You should say "You mean Lanzagrotty?" and see what kinds of looks you get.
Am I the only one who loves how annoying Ricky is? I think he makes the show funnier when Karl always complains that "I couldn't concentrate because Ricky was…"
I fully agree
Agreed. Ricky's enthusiasm, especially about Karl, is incredibly infectious. He was the perfect person to meet Karl. At first I thought his laugh was a bit obnoxious, but now I love hearing it.
I also love how Ricky says "You should have shut me out" When he was annoying Karl knowing full way he wouldn't of let that happen lol
When you’re putting a Burger King bag on me head
@@h6rmaTrying to play the accordion in my ear.
49:58 and 50:36 Karl always has such specific ages in mind for things like this, in all the episodes whenever he guesses someone’s age it’s always a very specific age like “38”, never “around 40”
This film clip is so clever, honestly. Karl isn't stupid at all. The careful placement of the Bob Marley CD earlier in the show knowing that he'd done it to fit into the clip.
Yep an absolute genius who thinks there was a census of fish in the sea. 😂 There's plenty of other examples of how stupid he is but I can't be bothered to list them as some people will still think he's a genius.
I'll never get why they never played to his strengths. Rockbusters gets old pretty quickly for me.
@@Me-zo8ycwell Ricky's reaction is usually quite funny
@@cornellius702 He just gets angry, says we're never doing this again, then does it again. Don't get me wrong I thought it was hilarious at first.
@@Me-zo8yc u don't like monkey news then?
These are honestly the most addictive thing in the world
I like how Karl says that if he won the lottery he wouldn't want to travel around the world, when he ends up traveling around the world and effectively winning the lottery.
That has to be the best 'that movie thing' Karl put together. I'd say he picked the Bob Marley CD just so it would work with the movie.
I thought the answer to the last Rockbusters clue was going to be Lickin' Park
thats genius! just as good as any Karl has done. although doesn't match the letters :(
AP........Lickin Park....Play a record
Jesse Miles neither did any of Karl’s😂
Oliver Wood Freda Payne springs to mind.

I always lose it when I hear Karl say "GARLIC BREAD!"
"His little legs" 😂
If any of you are wondering what word Karl is trying to pronounce its "antediluvian".
Sean antiquarian
@@MST785 no Sean is right x
He had a point with antediluvian vs old, why use 6 syllables when 1 will do.
@@core-nix1885 It specifically means from before the flood from Noah's Ark fame.
Antibipooean
Bit of Placebo- Special Needs. Ricky laughs haha
"THIS IS ROCKBUSTERS WITH KARL PILKINGTON... GO"
@22:01 "shuttt uppppp" LOLLLL
45:29 "Moaning with bells" is a brilliant summation of A Christmas Carol. Poor people moaning, a rich man moaning about the poor people, and ghosts moaning about the rich person moaning. With bells in the background.
Karl's German accent for Aztec Camera sounds a bit like a little Jamaican fella. 😂
"Has tek camera"... utter shite.
“Phil colon-s.. Phil-Phil col.”
Might be my favourite rockbuster
"..his little legs.."
Phil Colons.
This episode is one of the top tier ones.
Lobe how Karl starts the Scrooge clip by being "Only 20 minutes" late since Rickey and Steve were having a go at him about being 20 minutes late in season 2 one episode, wonder if it's just a councidence!
Same... Time is hard to keep when u loop these episodes every night so i just assumed it wasnt long ago they discussed the lateness. Im sure KP meant that. Nearly everything he says in his movie clips have been heard in previous eps!
Not a coincidence, he uses these real life exchanges as inspo for the clips 😊
‘You paying then?’
‘Well... yeah.’
‘You really paying?’
‘Well, half and half and that...’
Probs in the top episodes I would say.
The small bit at 26:43 about roleplaying games always cracks me up, I love how it was still considered such a nerdy thing to do back then even if LoTR and Harry Potter had gone mainstream.
“If I was the milkman you don’t go have two bottles of semi skimmed.... happy Christmas”
"I will smite you with my sword" lmao. Steve and Ricky talking about LoTR and D&D kills me.
“What albums am I gettin’ for working for this place....for 6 years...alrite?”
Acieeeeed 😂
8:15 Don't mind me, I'm just timestamping my favourite moments from each episode for my next round trip!
listened to hours and hours of this, good stuff :)
I love Steve comparing Ricky to the weather girl during monkey news lol
I bet Ricky loves the hobbit films seeing as his friend stars in them
ricky is practically a Hobbit himself
Always brings me back to reality whenever they read out an email or web address really slowly and say "all one word"
For some reason next week prisms always makes me laugh
22:00 LMAO! 'Shut uuuuuuuup'
Literally just saw your comment as it happened haha XD
This is probably the best episode 😂😂
I'm going to guesstimate that I'm on my 10th run-through of these. my therapy and sanity helpers.
Probably the worst Rockbusters of all time
I was just going to comment the same thing, of all the times Ricky says that it’s terrible this time it really is awful! But in the best way possible!
I think Karl saved the worst of his Rock Buster clues for the podcasts.
18.28 "dogs on tour" ahahah😂😂 gets me everytime
"My Precious! Oh my Precious!" burbled lanky co-writer Stephen Mitchell, his eyes bulging with imagined riches
I have never got an xmas bonus anywhere that I have worked! But I still feel Karl's pain in getting 2 CDs!
Love that they're friends with Martin Freeman and hate Lord of The Rings franchise
+Jonathan James Love how Steve constantly complains about LOTR and he obviously dragged his family along to see it.
+jimmystooge What's your evidence for that? If Steve secretly loves LOTR then how come he nails exactly why it's shite? Think
@@HeatyFrog lol. Exactly.
@@HeatyFrog
Evidence? How about fucking common sense. He saw it three times lmaooo he's clearly bsing, absolute dumbass
@@HeatyFrog except he's wrong. its not shite.
"The place where you take your dog a walk and that"
"Wh-- where you take your a dog a walk and that, or maybe you go there on a Sunday, people might sorta taste that area."
This is one of the best Rockbusters ever
And that's why birds do it, bees do it
Even educated fleas do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love
The whole lord of the rings thing is probably these twos what take. I'm certainly not a fantasy fan but loved the lord of the rings trilogy. Also for Steve to have a go at how the so called fans look is certainly brave considering the way he looked
And considering he said he seen them all because it was a "family thing" apparently, he was definitely pretending not to like em
Putting LOTR in the same league as HP says enough about how clueless they are. And they DO enjoy tripe like celebrity fit club...
the bit between 22:00 and 23:30 must be the best radio ever
The word Karl alludes to @44:00 is antediluvian. Even spell check didn't know it! 😂
This show turned me onto Aimme Mann and Badly Drawn Boy. Great stuff.
Steve "Where was he going?" right before the show ends hahahah
Lol.
Slightly triggers me that these two don't like lord of the rings. :) still love it
Karl - Hasn't eaten or had a drink for 70 years, but he's alright.
Ricky - Well that's rubbish then.
Karl - It's not rubbish.
What a coincidence, the only 2 places Ricky has ever been are the 2 greatest cities in the world
He couldn't be more of a typical philosophy student of he tried, likes to seem intelligent and well traveled but doesn't want to do any of the work lol. Philosophy... For people who want to sound intelligent at parties.
I have no doubt New York City is a shithole.
Fair play to Karl, the Chrismas Carol is brilliant, especially trailling Bob Marley earlier.
Atrocious clues in this Rockbusters segment.
Because normally they're spot on?! Haha
Actually they're normally bad clues. These were atrocious.
Ryan G. These might be the worst ones, indeed. Which makes them the best ones.
Clue no. 3 is something else
Golums the little one that looks like Ghandi.. Yea a computer generated Ghandi.. Is that alright Karl . Cracks me up every time.
Real tough few days 😞 hoping Karl will help me fall asleep tonight ❤

The number of words in the English language is: 1,025,109.8. This is the estimate by the Global Language Monitor on January 1, 2014.
Antediluvian is the word Karl is talking about which means old.
Rumbleshakeskin Entertainment I think he meant ‘antiquarian ‘.
How can u have .8 of a word..?
Thank you
And the guy who Ricky saw on a bar playing D&D sounds awesome.
"Garlic Bread" I think is my favourite thing from this series
I always liked the way Ricky said "it is shite" in this ep
Seriously - Karl never books the holidays, never treats Suzanne to anything etc. etc. and yet they’ve been together 25 years!
There’s hope for us out there yet 🤣
He bought her some new shoes once.
22:00 - "Shut up!" - hahaha
I'm so tired of people accusing Steve of secretly loving LOTR, he's casually mentioned it was a family tradition to go see each movie which explains why he knows a fair amount but more importantly he's clearly just trying to be funny and I laughed. He's filling dead space on a radio show and I bet he was just repeating some of the funny observations he, his sister and dad made during and after each one. He might like it. He might not. Nobody knows anything from what he's said in any of these shows on CZcams either way. Just enjoy the quite funny observations, the conveyer belt comment, comparing Karl's made up words to Tolkien, the authority on the English language essentially is funny and nothing more.
I was enjoying it, till I ended up spending half the day reading this comment
secondly, unless your Steve Merchant, how the fuck do you know whether he secretly likes the film or not?
If it took you half the day mate, the comment section may not be for you but as far as my comment goes, I do not know whether Steve loves or hates LOTR, as my comment stated if you could have made it through without a 2 day expedition. My point is people only enjoy a comedian until it touches a nerve with them then suddenly they have to read too much into the joke and accuse the comedian of god knows what.
You love to waffle on kidda
David Hall Alright Dickens. x
22:02 - one of the best moments
Get people in the Christmas mood and that......
I completely agree with Steve on LOTR, especially once the walking trees started talking.
Yeah he was spot on with that. Loved that segment.
They're not trees duh - they're ents!
