Great teaching bro, I'm damn near too old to even try this sh!t myself but I love the culture. I'm also a Texan that see it as even more impressive that you're able to teach at such a high level considering you're from a state over. Of course you won't please everyone and the hate is what let's you know you're doing something right. If it was wrong, folks would just let you make a fool out of yourself lol...Mad Respect, you got my youngsters in here dancing they azz off. Appreciate it King, KEEP TEACHING. I'm sure they see it like I do, nothing but love for the dance style and wanting to introduce it to more people, while giving Memphis full credit like you did. Hell, I just recently learned of the style since I'm new to editing and love editing different types of videos, upload a shorts vid recently of some Memphis Jookin(removing the original music) totaly unaware of the culture and put a rap beat to it. I now know better, and that the music plays a MAJOR part in the dance style like you mentioned, it has a certain "bounce" to it. I'll probably remove it if it offends any of my Memphis brothers/sisters...I just thought the dance was so dope. Now I find myself binge watching MEMPHIS Jookin videos which is what lead me here lol.

Dawg, I been tryna learn to Jook by someone who know the actual culture for a min. The main things I was needing was the shuffles!! This shit helped man. Keep makin these. Like 8-10 min clips of one move break down would be dope too cause that way peeps can reference.

You know i was introduced to Jookin in the late 90s from a memphis native visitng my city in PA. Im a pop locker and we use to battle all the time but he would refuse to teach me like it was some secret society or some shit lol.. His name was Charles you mightve run into him out there he was cold bro I mean cold! I though the nigga was a alien at first i mean he was waay better than a lot of big names we see on the gram like G nerd Ladia yes better than ladia/ He had like a scarecrow style that i just could not figure out for the life of me. And he knew if i learned that shit it would be lights out if he ever dared to battle me again. Thank you for sharing your knowledge but I think its best for those who are really eager to learn to go out there so you can FEEL the energy because its defintely something sacred about this dance.
Yessir All dance is spiritual it just depends on how you look at it. And feel it. I do animation mainly and I can easily beat jookers before but Once you learn Memphis JOOKIN you become a master of your feet and core which just enhance your other dance styles which makes you a master of your whole body. now I'm able to mix Krump, JOOKIN and animation all in one style.(check my videos)👀 Keep practicing and when u get it you'll just feel light asf nigga😂 people in different cities look at me in that same way bro but the difference is ILL TEACH YOU BECAUSE they still can't beat me😂😂
