  • Ricko puts a 165" Ski-Doo track and new drivers on a 162 Arctic Cat Mountain cat. We take you through removing the skid and changing out the drivers in order to make this 3.5 track fit in the Cat. Rick thinks that Ski-Doo makes one of the best snowmobile tracks on the market for mountain riding and was interested to see if the 165 would fit. Should you clip the track? Will it roll over better? This video is a shorter version of the install but there's a longer version of about 25 minutes that shows more technical details. If you have questions for us about any of the procedures, make sure you watch this long video first:

      Truth: we both had to get back to work after shooting this. Otherwise...beers would have been very likely. I'll admit that the videos are way better sans beers though....LOL.

    Doing 3.5 conversion to my 13 with a Camso 280 175 and using Alpha drivers on 13 shaft. Had a 174 280 but wanted the 3.5 pitch. Will try out soon.

    • @wtfayfrffs
      @wtfayfrffs Před 3 lety

      3.5 setup hooks up so much better than the 3.0 and this is comparing same series tracks and only 1" length difference. Extra 1" between lugs gets better bite. Camso 280s are almost half price of Ski-Doo or Powerclaw tracks.

    • @WyoUltra
      @WyoUltra Před 3 lety

      I didn't even think about the pitch! Makes sense. But if you cut all the excess weight of the track is there a weight difference between that and the power claw? I think skidoo track is lighter already.
      On another note, have you had any luck drilling out tracks? I know it was popular a while back. But now the argument is that it hinders floatation.

    • @DIGIT9
      @DIGIT9  Před 3 lety +1

      I added clips to the track so weight is about the same ! Powder Claw aint that light !
