I received a lot of them a long time ago, even before I started this channel. VMS is also one of my Patreon supporters. Being independent from big and exclusive sponsorship deals and showing you a wide variety of different brands and products was one of the founding ideas of this channel and I will always stand by this.

"Your model will be happy, your wallet? Not so much."
Never heard of a more accurate way to explain hobby models
and “modelling is basically getting rid of your money but in a more fancy way”!
"keep building models... don't just collect them"... Auch! I felt that one xD
This jagpanther is sick! Details and colour are a masterpiece.
I agree!
Thanks a lot! I finished it two days ago, already working on the diorama :)
Get well soon jagdpanther
MA FRA-ENDS!!! This makes my Friday every time. Absolutely stellar job!!
I love hearing that Bulb light lighting up on Friday!
Just a heads up my dude, C-Hooks and spare tracks were painted. I can hook you up with images of the track primer for tracks. C-hooka were camo painted with the vehicle or yellow. That spot on the lhs where the front fender was would likely have been primed as well. There are great images from the Panther factories in color post war which show sub assemblies not only primed but painted yellow before assembly.
This was 100% my artistic license (read: laziness) because the entire rear plate was incredibly hard to chip. Very cramped and difficult to get my hands into a comfortable position. So painting the C-hooks in a steel color was a way to avoid chipping them :)
Thanks for sharing these details 👍🏼
How quickly this factory paint would come off from the spare tracks? Especially if these were already used?
@@CatEatsDogs it's hard to say. It's basically a dark brown/grey primer. Spare tracks supplied with the vehicle would be painted over the base, in this case, yellow.
I don't think any surviving track links today show any of the paint clearly, but they've had 75 years of exposure; just 1 year is probably longer than most tracks survived back in the day.
@Adam Mann, do you mind sharing a link to those images?
That bruh sound effect 50 seconds in was amazing. Keep up the great work, the videos keep getting better!
It's the most beautiful sound effect ever made
Mud and dust is always my favourite part can’t wait for that episode
It's the only weathering stage that always makes me extremely nervous and uncertain about the result, but I've broken that video down into individual, easy to follow steps :)
Hey Uncle! Not sure if you are already, but it's really useful to squeeze and mash the tubes of oil paints with the lids on before you open them to squeeze onto a palate. Noticed one or two looked oily at first, because the oils weren't distributed evenly. Try it, and you'll get more consistent paint :)
Another damn fine episode Martin! Industrial earth is one of my favourite oils to use on armour, it's extremely versatile and seems to go with most camo jobs.😉🤘🤘
Totally! And Raw Umber is amazing for those lighter paint jobs.
@@NightShiftScaleModels Agreed sir!
I’ve literally been building & painting my Jagdpanther along with you! Extremely helpful and I’ve learned a lot of awesome methods from you! Keep it up man 👍🏻
You should try 3D printed tanks at some point, id love to see how you get rid of the print layers. Plus you can make anything in any scale!
Knowing him he would just texture the entire thing, then work with that! Haha
Ive tried it i dont know if it was good or not 😐 if you want to see check out my ytb chanel (diotime!) hope you like it😬
A trick I've seen is to slice it in such a way that all the big flat surfaces are printed straight up so the face is one flat layer. After that, fill, sand, fill, sand, fill, sand...
If you print them correctly, the print layers should not be visible
A fully 3D printed tank in 35th scale landed in my mailbox about a week ago :)
Thanks so very much for this outstanding series. You are a master craftsman and I have learned so much from you and what's fantastic is that my modeling has gone tenfold. I've even gone back reworked and detail painted older works. I'm so much happier with the finishes that I've been able to achieve. Not just on my armor, but in my model railroading. Thanks 🐉
One of the two channels I absolutely love, great reason for youtube to exist.
I just really enjoy watching you make these masterpieces! They are truly astonishing!
I love watching pin washes go on. It’s such a satisfying process!!
Im always hyped to watch your videos, thanks for actually getting me into trying out modeling for the first time!
It's a pretty sweet hobby, isn't it? :)
@@NightShiftScaleModels waiting for the model to arrive, its gonna be a nice stug :) (though im making sure i have everything i need to assemble it)
God dude, this is turning out perfect
Absolutely the best tutorials. Brilliant narration explaining the techniques. Thank you for taking the time to teach us how to be better modellers. Cheers
Another awesome video Martin, looks very realistic, like the way you do the rust effects.
You uploading a new video is legit the biggest reason I look forward to every Friday!
I'm still in awe of the detail you can achieve. I will have my own house soon and have a whole room for modelling. I want to try so many things you've taught us.
The removed tool brackets is such a cool touch, beautiful stuff!
Every timewhen fell that modelling go bad and i dont have steam in me, i watch Uncle videos and always it take me back to workbench. Thx uncle
Thanks for all the great weathering tips and tricks throughout your video. It’s looking amazing man! Fantastic work! ☺️👏
Taking realism to another level
I'm color blind....so what ever color you pick....I have no choice.. I have to go with... I am a child of a lesser spectrum....contrast...contrast.... I really appreciate your work....Thanks...
Dear Martin, Outstanding! I loved the in depth/deep dive tutorial. Best Wishes Johnny
Damn, I am early! I can't wait to see this thing completely finished! Good work, mate!
This is just...just...magnificent!
This. Is. Just. Amazing! Slightly nicer than the rest of your other models!
Always interesting. Always helpful. Thank you!
Excellent video. Really helpful to see you actually paint and I liked the discussion.
Perfect timing! I am currently making my second model, a t-62a and have just finished painting about to move on to detailing.
Excellent work and great description of how it done..
It's a wonderful technique. I was impressed!
Amazing as usual my friend
Great Video! It was fun to watch and very useful! 👌
Looking pretty neat. Watching Night Shift after night shift is always satisfying.
I tried to build a model like yours ,I failed in a horrific way but now I learned how not to mess up . Thanks
As always... BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
Looking great! I always learn something from you, and I will try out your exhaust method on my next tank.
Very enjoyable video. .Always enjoy these weekly updates.
Man the Jagdpanther looks Amazing! Great work!
Awesome video! Thank you once again
Another excellent video, Martin!
Cheers bruh!
I'm really enjoying the vidoes of the jagpanther so far it looks really amazing so far
Nicely detailed work as usual 👍🏻
Excellent !! I needed it.
Yo, Uncle Night Shift, I've learned a lot from your channel these last two years but this video may be the most informative one yet. Thank you for taking the time to teach this capitalist dog the finer points of detail painting, oils, washes, filters, and so on.
mate.this looks insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am loving this Jagdpanther series Uncle! I am a bit late viewing this episode, but I was not disappointed, and I found it very informative. I have my own example of this vehicle at painting and weathering stage, and I am keen to try out some of your techniques. I will be waiting in anticipation or the next episode.
Greetings from Australia!
A treat for Friday evening. Thanks Martin, looking forward to watching this while nursing a beer or two. Thanks again for sharing your creativity.
Ah, cheers!
I just finished watching this episode and I too was sipping a beer.
Awesome work again Unc! TFS, GB :)
all his videos are a master class
The pinwashed zimmerit and rusted out tool mounts were my favorites.
Hehe all week waiting, finally :)
Another great video.. really enjoying this project 👍😀
Excellent work
Massive high level videos, as always.
Looks amazing, as always
Excellent as always
Speechless.
Another GREAT vid.................... 👍👍👍
Great stuff as always, Martin. 👍
Try blending the rust oils with a dry brush, rather than the fairly wet brush you use for enamels. Also, try using them on a matt surface, rather than a satin one. Both will make it a lot easier to blend the oils without ‘pushing them around’ on the surface.
Another great and helpful video. Happily just joined the patreon team.
Great video and presentation.
Love it! And it looks like you had fun in post production as well 😁 this would have been perfectly enjoyable to me if it had been "just another video" about a German 3 tone pattern and washes. But the deep dive was even cooler and I thought it was funny how you took some jabs at your own content. I have been following for 2 years because I enjoy your process and watching you build and grow. If that growth means you want to change it up a bit so it is still new and fresh, that is awesome, but if not, I will happily watch the same style videos where only the subject matter changes too 🍻
The wheels look gold!
awesome work
Thank you , Uncle Martin .
Amazing job 👍👍👍
Very nice work. And I had that cup of coffee you recommended.
I don't have to say this video is awesome...but it's awesome.
Very interusting :D nice work, as always :)
Genius on display here
I have been building models for 6 years. Not as long as some others here, and a far cry from what you are doing Uncle Nightshift. I just wanted to say that I absolutly LOVE watching your videos.
That is despite the fact that I have only build a single tank, a Revell Tiger 2 in 1:72 scale, and that was when I just started out. I didnt have an airbrush and I didnt knew what a wash was. So unsurprisingly, the model is only the base yellow with a few stripes of brown and green applied on top of it. Hand drawn with a brush. With undiluted paints. The model looks like shit. Since then I have only build WW2 era ships in 1:700 scale, and a few space ships (Star Blazers/Space Battelship Yamato) in 1:1000 scale. I never intend to build another tank again, I'm just more interested in ships now. But I still absolutly love watching your videos Night Shift. They are super enjoyable and super relaxing. The production quality and your explanations are always 10/10, the small pieces of humor are the cherry on top. Please keep making them the way they are now, I enjoy every minute from them. Also, I hope your leg is healing well. Have a nice weekend, cheers!
The rust effects and washes will apply to ships. Salt water is aggressively corrosive, too, so there's lots of opportunities to paint rust on the sides of the ship, following the panel lines.
Ships in these scales must be crazy tough when it comes to details!
well done!
I’ve wondered about your oil paint stand for ages. Now I’ve seen a close up and know the secret! Foam!
Top modeling, top videos
Hehe, more techniques to use on my tanks, cheers Uncle!
*My friends*
~ quote of the week
just as my own model arrived! i can watch uncles beautiful model at the same time i mess up mine!
I love the industrial stuff for weathering amd the AMMO Starship Filth
Looks fantastic 👌
I'm building the Amusing hobby ferdinand full interior damb nightmare for flash and miss alignment of parts!
I do have the Meng G2 in the stash no Zimmerit but relocated tools to rear maybe try some new thing's definitely try the grey and rust on the spare links on my ferdinand! There right on the front so right in your face!
A pretty tank with great techniques and painting. Amazing work as always
That a strange way to discribe a vehicle that is used to kill, and destroy. I would have used another word other than "pretty".
@@genek8630 It's just a big metal kitten XD
@@genek8630 No shit sherlock what else could i use a tank for, Farm work?
Top Notch !!!
its looking very good! i also like the white walls on the tires they make it look like a old car lol
Очень крутая работа))У вас есть чему поучиться))всегда с нетерпением жду ваших новых видео))
That coffee art supply had me!
Been a while again since I watched a vid from ya hope you're doing well
As always great! However there is one thing that I can't understand - why that heavy rust on the hull sides? Do you really think tank steel rusts so fast? In a matter of months? Dear modellers worldwide, please keep in mind: Tank steel is v e r y immune to corrosion. Panzerstahl rostet nicht! It is reall y hard to believe this "rust mania" become so popular.
Awesome job !!!!
I would love to see you do a Panzer tank interior
Very nice
hey man, would love to see a model buying guide so that i can start doing this kinda stuff myself. amazing video btw
Love your video's and amazing work - thinking about giving this a try major problem read your comments on another video but I can't seem to find UK retailer for Styrodur 3035
This is cool
