I was just wondering about pinching off lower growth on a small tree. It's above the graft. After watching your video, I'm going to let nature take its course. Thanks for sharing mate.

Yeah, if you watched some of my videos from several months ago, you will have noticed they were totally blurry and got crazy weird because I abused my phone so badly. I finally broke down and got the new iPhone 14 but what's weird about it is the audio isn't as good and the camera has a bit of fish eye effect to it, which is kind of weird. But glad you guys like it

I completely agree that these smart trees will do what they want to do. Only prune when completely necessary.

Perhaps the mexicola wants to grow tall narrow and thin off at a diagonal angle. I've seen a lot of avocados grow that way naturally too (maybe not in florida while young tho, but in a lowland tropical forest with canopy above, or in high density avocado farms where they don't top the trees (unlike most high density farmers)).

Great advice don't force the shape till older as letting be a bush protects from sun and cold both.

The Tree's look like victims of our Santa Ana winds combined with a heat wave, they should make for interesting and wide Tree's!

I'm looking for flowering times for various avocados in Northern California. Flowering in December not so good. (No bees or flies) Late spring, summer, very good!.

Could be an adaptation to shield the trunk from direct sun

Hi Gary my avocado tree has some fast moving red dot like spider. They are really small. How to deal with them?
