Cocos, the ultimate fantasy palm.
My sea lavender was doing great, I clipped the dead flowers off & now my plant looks terrible...foliage is turning brown..help😣
Hawaii again? Really…………I think I’m acting this way because I’m jealous. But it’s summer….guess I’m not as jealous now. 😊

You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?!?!
Will the roots effect the utility pipes underground? Should one call 811 before dig? your thoughts please
what is the name of the pink flowered manzanita? I have three Dr Hurds and love um but i want the pink one
Wow, a lot rain water flooding the road 😮 Stay safe ❤
Where was this filmed?
My mango has been potted from seed for 1 year in zone 9B Florida. It was slow to grow so i planted it in the ground. How long do your mango trees take to grow and produce? Thanks.
What nursery or store did you buy the plant from?
How do these palms do in full sun or do they need shade?
They can handle full sun. They were just need more water and fertilizer to keep them looking good assuming you were not out in some extreme hot climate like Palm Springs or similar, in which case they would need shade.
Nombre de la nolina y de la segunda
😂 I love this video!!
Thanks!
How often & how much water do you give them in the summer w 105 temps? Thank you
Non if they are well established but 2 x a week 3-4 gallons per application of freshly planted.
Great looking Kings! One of the few palms that we can actually grow up in NorCal, at least in the right micro climate.
I got 3 of them in full sun at the yuba estate. Definitely grow differently in the hot inland climate. Leaf size is reduced but mine have managed to keep a rich green color with regular fertilizer application
Waiting for them to flower someday seems like they take their time
Whenever I see light yellow plants my first impulse is that some sort of iron chlorosis is going on and to put some fertilizer on it. Once I get over that I can enjoy it, this has got nice dainty foliage, a very nice plant. Thanks for showing it.
@@nathanielalgernon975 it just looks like this due to the lighting. It's actually green, but translucent.
wow, that's incredible, I really like these extreme rainfalls. People have to be careful about these things because these low areas can fill up quickly and people who stay in their cars sometimes drown. I think the electronics in their cars malfunctions and they can't even get the windows open.
Wow, great examples of this palm. I found out about these when it was mentioned on Palmtalk. I figured you likely had a video on them, and low and behold, you had a few from over the years. I ended up buying 2 from your nursery and 1 martianus as well. I was never a fan of the fortuneii, but these are something else. Very pleased with them and the sun catches them from behind perfectly, the translucent nature of them is a great feature of these in particular. Excellent examples here!
Cool, thanks!
Where do you get Kaolin clay in bulk ? store ?
You need to start every video like this one. Just saying your name lol. So funny
In turkish we call them "night lovers" and that is because flowers open up late afternoon. Very slight fragrance but pleasant and always take me to my childhood. That is why I planted them near the front door in CA :) Just nice memories
They grow like weeds in Phoenix. Mexican fan palms will grow out of the smallest crack in the concrete…and everywhere else. It’s great. No oriels. There are wild parakeets around.
what a beautiful landscape in the second video
There were orioles in Fort Lauderdale when I was visiting in 1993. I thought that they might be hooded orioles, but I'm not sure.
Unfortunately these have escaped from cultivation in Hawaii to become yet another exotic / invasive plant.
Mission Viejo checking in here - we have them in the same palm. Every morning they “chatter” nag at me to refill the grape jelly cups on the oriole feeder with nectar ports and spaces to hold orange halves. I find myself these days wishing I had such a pampered good life! Ha! Thanks for this very relevant narrative praising such a little beauty of the avian world!
Thanks for such a wonderful comment.
Hi. I have been dying to find an indoor mango tree. Would you have another one that you can ship out close to Niles,IL?😊
Soo cool! I did not know they made it up there. They are one of my top three fave birds. Their song is beautiful.I'm right on the Mexican Belize border.
If you're ever in Hilo Hawaii, they have a very nice trail that is free with Cycads, bromeliads, and oalms that are rare. Free to do at the college.
Thanks for sharing that
I live in San Diego and the orioles nest in my brahea edulis every year. About 5 years ago a snake literally got into the top of the tree and ate the eggs or babies. I came home and the birds were going crazy so I looked up and saw a snake in the tree extending out on the frond with huge lumps in his body that were either the eggs or baby birds. I grabbed my pole saw without the blade on it and got him off of the tree but it was probably too late. I didn't know that a snake could climb up a palm but he somehow did.
Wow fry goods l love falem fis beautiful.amin
Kinda wish B. malabarica have showy flowers
Yeah, I wished you had zoomed in on the Capay Valley and Guinda, near where I am.
Well, I can't believe you have not encountered this the 4 Oclock in your line of work. What the folks below have not mentioned is the seeds look exactly like little hand grenades, so you can't say the plant has not tried to warn you about its spreading nature. It spread from my neighbor and took over part of my front yard in Woodland, CA. It was not to hard to eradicate, but it took time. Also want to tell about a Jacaranda in Woodland that survived 15F in 1990 and continues to thrive despite neglect. I could show it to you as it has public access. I was just at your place outside Winters picking up a Mexicola from Jorge. I ran into this video as I wanted to look at your vid where you planted the pot too after slicing the sides. My wife is questioning me, lol.
Yes, Jacarandas are popping up pretty much everywhere these days. It's amazing what a few degrees of global warming will do
Good morning, the coconut is an endemic species of El Palmar, Chuquisaca-Bolivia, it is not from Peru.
Yucca patriotica 🇺🇸
Four O-clocks, have them all over my yard, drought tolerant, black seeds all over like crazy every year( that's how I started mine), Mixed colors on the same plants it seems, from white to deep purple along with mixed multicolored as well. Planted them along with Hollyhocks about 6 years ago and both have spread all over without watering... When they do get water it's even crazier growth.
Mirabilis jalapa. in french litteraly 'night beauty', since the flowers are closed during daytime. the yellow is the wild type, resurging in the pink and red selections after one or two generations of seedlings. and they dont need water :D
In andrapradesh Telugu name of the flower is chandraganti.
Artifical turf pretty much sucks. It has some perforations in it to allow for drainage but it never has enough. It will deprive that tree of water and make it very difficult to fertilize. It also gets extremely hot, so hot it will burn a dogs feet. But the worst thing about it is the smell that it retains and constantly releases from dogs relieving themselves on it. It is absolutely awful and nearly impossible to clean and get the smell out
Yes, it's four o clocks and it will take over if you aren't careful. They make tons of black, barrel shaped seeds and spread below ground like crazy. Hummingbird moths love them at night.
In Brazil this flower is called Maravilha (Marvel). Scientific name: Mirabilis Jalapa.
I have discovered that the plant you have is called The four o-clock . Apparently the Marvel-of -peru is an invasive plant here in South Africa. I didn't know that. Something new to me.
I am from South Africa. And I found yellow and ceres colour plants growing on a dump. But not vergated like yours. They have a lovely scent. They are called Marvel-of- peru. I hope that helps. Thank you for sharing, they really gorgeous.
Tracy princeps ur thinking of I think
This is a great explanation of weather in NorCal, thanks! What parts of Sacramento tend to be more frost free have you noticed?
Bull!
We live in manteca CA and we have one in our front yard! I just figured out what it was! It growing something in the middle it's about 2 feet long so far. We have only lived in this house for a yr, we are going to fertilize it now we know how to care for it.
