maybe im deaf but i didnt hear him say he didnt rape her
At around 2.40 he said he was falsely accussed.
marymalik yea, your deaf
Junie Gyllenhaal you're* good thing i can read
yes you are deaf, he said he was falsely accuse, which means he did not do it
yup he did it
I am a survivor. At a young age I was raped. However at the age of 31 I stand in my full truth and know that I am so much more then the situation that I faced all those years ago. I am so much more then my circumstance. I've taken the power back that was stolen from me. My prayer is that all survivors of this monstrous, hideous, obscene, and outrageous crime will one day be able to say I survived. And I'm so much better than my circumstance would have you to believe I am. I pray that every Survivor is able to love themselves and other people in spite of this tragedy.
But how do you feel about those women who have lied, then caught? I am in no way trying to take away what you have gone through, because you have been through hell! Yet, your strength shows that you are better, stronger & wiser than your past!
Bless you sister.
First off thank you so very much for the compliment. Secondly I think that the young ladies who make false accusations against these men at one point in life were taught or picked up the belief that any attention is good attention. I believe that somewhere in their past they experienced a situation where something in their mind clicked and said if I do something negative I can gain more attention than if I do something positive. As a survivor it sickens me to think that anyone would want to gain attention or even a spotlight. From such a horrible crime. I can't deny that it has had a profound effect on my life. It in the past has hindered my ability to trust and let my guard down. It has also made me very aware that some people have the ability to become monster's. I believe that after the court has determined that whomever the young lady chooses to falsely accuse is innocent, that the young lady should do a mandatory 2 years of therapy. So that this young lady will fully understand what she has done and how life changing her lies would have been to the falsely accused. I then feel she should be mandated to spend that same 2 years attending various support groups for survivors of rape. With the support groups full knowledge of what she has done. Knowledge is power. When you know better you do better. I'm thankful that this video has opened up a door to have a much needed and important conversation. #IAmMySistersKeeper
What does that have to do with this video?
I was asked a question and answered it. If you paid attention Nate was falsely accused and with that being said the question posed asked how I felt about women who falsely accused others of rape since I'm a survivor of the crime. So it had everything to do with the video.
He didn't say, I didn't rape her, he skirted around it by not saying what he did! If you didn't rape someone, I don't care how long ago it was, you would say, I didn't do it!!!!
The court said he is NOT GUILTY. WTF is wrong with you?
Johnny Mnemonic The only people that raped whole families and GOT away with it is your ancestors. Stop trying to make the face of rape a black man. That's your culture!
He was found "not guilty."
he did say flausly accused
he doesnt want to talk about it
It is interesting that this rape case did not come up when Nate Parker starred in the movie "Non-Stop". Why this film? I took myself and my daughter to support the film. I will go see it again. "The Birth of a Nation" was the best film that I have ever seen.
I think the understanding not addressed is that rape is not soley violence upon the victim, screaming, fighting, and forced sexual intercourse. Rape can also be in the situation where the victim is not mentally capable of screaming, fighting, etc....because of any number of reasons as a result of alcohol, drugs, etc.. and that the person because of those reasons are unable to prevent that person having sexual intercourse with them.
So, if this was the situation in the latter, than it was legally rape, if I'm understanding the definition of rape and categories. Just because it's not the typical violent act motive, doesn't mean it's not rape. Whether someone is murdered by a criminal or killed by self-defense. Both results in the death of that person.
False rape accusations are a major and rising problem in the United States. It is an over-convicted crime, especially amongst African Americans. More times than not you will find that the men convicted are innocent. I don't care what political agenda you have, you CANNOT convict someone just based on a "victim's" word. If anything, this is a crime that should REQUIRE ample amounts of evidence before the accusations are made public.
If you do not agree to what I wrote above, then I am sorry to tell you that you are part of the problem.
Well I am not saying that they shouldn't report it, but that evidence is required. Why the hell would they wait so long to report it? That's their own problem.
Second, who cares if you're a black woman? What are you trying to say by that? That you're more intelligent or less intelligent? Why does who you are matter? You think I'm going to respect your opinions more because you're black? WTF?
Not guilty. Leave him alone
why is this trending with barely any views??? no disrespect to rape victims but CZcams has a problem.
There trying to discredit him
Steve asked him what happened , & he didn't answer . Why ?
He said he was vindicated. Meaning, he was found not guilty. Meaning, he didn't do it.
Plus, I believe that he's told his story a million times and he's not trying to tell it again.
+Kushton Slater he had sex with her while she was drunk! She could not consent to it. That's rape. He also invited his friend into the room to join them. His friend said no because the situation didn't seem right.
Sunflower Marshmellow he did sleep with the girl but she was drunk and couldn't remember whether she agreed to it or not. But after he did it with her he invited his friend to have sex with her next and the friend was found guilty of rape initially. He is not a good guy.
MsCassiexo If you're a lawyer, or judge, please let us know. How many years of law school did you complete? Listen you imbecile. You're confusing the issue. There's a very complex legal system in place in America. Best in the world. Where people can sue you for pulling a chair under them. She was drunk? That's your argument? Lol. Who isn't drunk while having sex? Is someone drunk prepared to take a calculus exam, No. But they can make decisions about who you want to have sex with. Double jeopardy doesn't apply in court and it shouldn't apply now? The court proved him not guilty. You can say anything you want but those are the facts.
He was tried and acquitted!
so was o.j…they BOTH did it.
@@skyearmstrong9496 oj and this are two completely different things. If you weren't there personally you can't say he did anything. He was tried and acquitted like she said.
@@marskeins There is a recorded phone call where he admits he abused the sleeping girl. Of course brutal double murder doesn't equate to sleep sexual abuse, but they are both guilty.
@@rodrigoodonsalcedocisneros9266 where's that convo posted cuz I read the records and that wasn't in the records...plus he was acquitted. If that recorded convo exist he would've been convicted
I think that's crazy to say it's unfair that this case is coming up again, the case and suicide are related, this man is in the spotlight every day and she saw him every day how can you see your rapist every day and not be traumatized and reminded of the incident. People put way too much faith into this court system, just because he was acquitted doesn't mean he didn't do it. I can't say I won't watch the movie I would love to, but this conversation is a cover up and I'm seriously disappointed.
I think you missed the point. The unfair part is people like you assuming you know the full story when you don't, and then taking that and saying you know he's guilty. That is unfair, particularly if what you think you know is really false, because almost 20 years later, there is no way to prove that it did not happen the way you claim.
This is true I see your point, however the case in question only acquitted him because of his partner the same man who helped him write the movie took the fall for it. I've gathered what facts I've seen and think he did it.... honestly he has been acting guilty from the start. His guilt is not necessarily what I'm mad about though granted it's a horrible thing to have done (I guess if you wanna speculate : to be accused of doing) He should not be the fave of a movement of awareness for rape, guilty or not he was accused and it's honestly disrespectful to victims of abuse.
My thing is this, is there a possibility that he and his friend raped that girl? Absolutely. However, is there a possibility that him and his friend are among hundreds of thousands of Black men falsely accused of raping White women? I don't take it likely that he may have raped her, and I don't take it likely that she may have falsely accused him. So since I'm not in the position to know, I have to reserve my judgment.
To each his or her own.
If you are going to site sources please don't make your source buzzfeed. they are not the most respected news outlets when it comes to accuracy.
so what about the people who get falsely accused of rape ???
It needs to be highlited Nate never said he was innocent either here or the other interviews, he just kept throwing curveballs around those questions. He was guilty of abusing the sleeping girl, the justice system let him free but that doesn't mean he didn't do it.
Thank you Steve for being real & honest. You stood by Nate the way I would have wanted some one to stand by me.
Not when your wrong
@@mbless1814 He wasn't wrong
WOW! Reading comments of women getting mad at this brother for the sins of countless cowards. Real smart ladies...very smart.
no whats shocking is the amount of people turning a blind eye to him and defending him to no end. He is one of those cowards.
that fact is that no one knows what truly happen but them three. he was found not guilty by our justice system. for him to be let free as a black man who was accused of raping a white women says a lot and that he didnt commit that crime. what do you guys want from him? to apologize for something he was found innocent of? come on let the man live his life without bringing stuff he was innocent of. but yall dont realize that if it was a white male then no one would be talking about it because for some reason people are easier to forget and forgive about actual crimes they commit smh.
Manny
Right!
+Super Savage You are absolutely correct!!
The transcripts of this case say it all. There was a third guy Nate invited into the room with this blacked out woman who said no because it didn't seem right.
She didn't even know what happened and was trying to figure it out from Nate. If a girl was that drunk, she can't consent.
Just because she's white doesn't mean Parker didn't rape her. Just because he was acquitted doesn't mean he was innocent. And harassing a victim outside of court is never forgivable.
George Zimmerman was acquitted, but guess what, he murdered a teenager. Same for OJ. The US legal system is not my moral standard.
I was extremely excited for this movie but after these revelations and the way he handled it, I will not be paying my money to see it in theaters. And the fact that he added a non-existent rape to the story of Nat Turner so he could avenge it, says a lot about him.
Ummm... that was HER side of the story. Nate maintains that the sex was consensual and that she was fully conscious and aware of what was going on.
I'm watching the movie.
R Baker In recorded phone calls later, he claimed she was awake and that it was only the two of them. Only once she faked a pregnancy scare did he admit someone else joined in (though he still claimed she consented). If that doesn't seem suspicious or incriminating, I don't know what does.
The testimony of a THIRD MAN who was invited to sleep with a blacked out woman is not HER side of the story, although it does prove her point that she was raped.
Also the transcript of a call where a woman tries to find out how many people had sex with her and after blacked out is not her side, it is the truth.
You probably think Cosby was setup too.
Not finding anything...
Damn you can feel the tension from the audience. These women would have lynched him on the spot, especially the blacks.
The scriptures says in the "TORAH" thou shall not BEAR FALSE WITNESS AGAINST THY NEIGHBOR.
"The media ain't covering that", then the video ends. How ironic Steve Harvey
Nate is a great artist and this show's how just how great of a human being he is.
That so true
FIRST OFF, HE WAS ACQUITTED. WHICH IMPLIES THAT THE WOMAN WASNT TELLING THE TRUTH. SECONDLY, ALOT CAN HAPPEN IN 13 YEARS AND BASED ON HIS ACQUITTAL THAT IMPLIES SHE WASNT RIGHT IN THE HEAD AT A YOUNG AGE FORM THE START. ANY WOMAN THAT CAN FALSELY ACCUSE A MAN OF RAPE AND WATCH HIS LIFE CRUMBLE AND STILL SLEEP GOOD AT NIGHT. SOMETHING IS CLEARLY WRONG WITH THEIR PERCEPTION OF LIFE. LETS MOVE ON PEOPLE!
Thank you Steve!
Never make anyone do anything that makes them uncomfortable, there will be regret and hurt and condemnation afterwards. Never do anything you are uncomfortable with whether the person like you afterwards. No before, during and after still means no. You should be able to tell if someone is uncomfortable. And try not to put yourself and someone else in uncomfortable situations. Be smart, be kind to one another.
He was falsely accused and proved innocent. Look at the facts and stop believing every single rape/sexual harassment accusation.
some ppl just don't care if your guilty. or innocent they just go long with what ever sound good
I wish I could see the full interview.
So proud of this man. May God continue to Bless him. It is not a coincidence that this is resurfacing at the same time THIS movie comes out. smh. I pray His strength and support the film 100%. Went to the theaters last week to watch Birth of A Nation and will go again.
What hurt is the fact that we lost someone in this whole ordeal and we are still putting blame on the other. No one knows what happened that night and I would like to think in the best possible scenario, but regardless of the past, I still think we should first focus on the film that's right around the corner, and then worry about the actor's personal life. Separate the Art from the Artist.
why don't they talk about women lying about Rape? Also why don't women get the that shame harsh criticism & backlash for choosing to stay with men that beat them?
The percentage of women lying about rape is 0.01% you asswipe
There's nothing genuine looking about Turner. I'll watch the movie but I won't pay for it because I'm not about to feed that man who won't end up putting that money back into to the black community.
if you know about him then you'd know how genuine and intelligent and humble he is. He already does endless work for the black community
+GunnerWildr oops Parker. My bad.
Nobody cares what you think you cheap @#$%! lol
yea he dnt seem genuine at all..and that money def ain't being put in the black community , he married to a white woman..ill catch it on put locker
You mean Nate Parker, Nate Turner is definitely somebody everyone should know, please don't get them confused.
So now the new or old trend is to dig into the past of strong, outspoken Black men looking for something to pin on them true or untrue, acquitted or not Black folks please wake up.
i can't wait to see nate's masterpiece. his a innocent man, this smear campaign is getting old real fast.
innocent? is the only things you heard coming from him? because he is far from it
Quantum Witcher he was proven innocent. What is wrong with people like you?
+Ritchi Laine Acquittal does not prove innocence. What's wrong with people like you who think that way?
3:59 Wow! this was powerful! I'm looking at him on this show and all i could think about was why would would he be on this show to try and defend what he didnt do? He surprised me to take in what the media was doing to him and try and figure out the problem, not with him, but what is happening to women and speaking out about it! Why is the media not reporting that?why are they stuck on accusing him? why can't they interview him on what he's doing now? Proof that they rather keep Nate in a negative light before they see him in a positive one! He beat the case! i don't think he did it anyway!
Because rape is something that is carry on for life, both on the woman and the man
Rape is the worst! I stand with every woman and little girl that's been affected by this crime. Stay strong Sisters and Brothers who were falsely accused. Hold onto God's Hand-very tightly!!
I am a guy and I was raped. this is not a one gender crime. when I was a little boy a man assaulted me, and no one cared. Open your eyes please. Women aren't the only victims
YESSS STEVE!!! 👍 ALL the way!
I think we are a nation that can't forgive. He is in the middle of a Catch 22. We don't know what happened and why until he is successful and doing something. Keep pressing forward and guess what, at the end of the day, God sees all. Fix ourselves and find our own lives
Romans 8:34
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again...
He keeps saying that he has already spoken about what happen and he is not willing to relitigate the case. It comes off like he is trying to skirt this issues. Furthermore, I find it interesting that he can go on show after show to sell us reasons to go see his film (which I am knowledgeable about Nat Turners story so I was going to see the movie), being comfortable repeating the same info about the film yet does not want to talk about the rape. He does not give the impression that he has taken responsibility for running a train on that girl, which lead to her emotional and mental instability, ultimately leading to her suicide.
I agree with +Joy A, he does not come off as a good guy and seems to lack authentic compassion and ownership of his role in this situation. Injustice via rape or police brutality is all injustice. It seems to me that Nate Parker should have pieced that together while working on this movie. It's all very sad.
You sound like a damn fool. Exactly what is it about NOT GUILTY you don't understand?
Have you considered that the reason he doesn't want to talk about it again is because the woman is dead, and that maybe he's trying not to disrespect her or her family?
Recounting the issue naturally means that he has to once again assert his innocence, which by nature means he has to implicate that the deceased woman was a irresponsible liar.
And yeah, OF COURSE he's promoting his film. He stepped away from acting for several years to work on it, and he really feels like it's a groundbreaking movie. It's the very thing that put him under public scrutiny. If it wasn't for the film, no one would be making a big deal about his old rape case.
Why should he have to keep talking about something that he was acquitted for? Why should he have to keep talking about something that he has maintained his innocence on?
lol because the court system works so well. :/ poor you
But how can yous truly know if he's innocent or not by just observing him from the t.v. I mean damn if he does and damn if he doesn't. There are three sides to every story. Her side, his side and the truth.
I mean how many times should he have to keep talking about it. let's all decide on a number and tell him so he can appease us, fair enough?
i think u should be held accountable for your actions while drunk. if u can get a dui while drunk then u can consent to sex.
Proud of him for that..wow! Awareness..
The media is a trip! It's awfully interesting how when they have information on public figures, they are very calculated when this information is released and the spin they put on it. This movie just might get sleeping people to wake up! Why is it being released at this moment in time when it happened so long ago? She took her life in 2013? Why are they just now jumping on this information and finally, if he was acquitted what does that really mean to people? Or do we just want to look at someone and decide what they did or didnt do as if we were there or as if it happened to us personally by that person. Very interesting how mainstream media picks and chooses what they want us to see and hear and the sheep are lead astray. There is sooo much more going on in this world that if it were not for social media, we wouldnt even be aware of. So you say everything on social media isnt true? Neither is everything you see and hear on main stream news channels. They get to spin it just like the folks on social media do. Believe half of what you see, some and none of what you hear.
because in the movie he included a historically inacurrate rape scene that never ocurred and made himself out to be the hero who avenged the rape victim. Thats why it came back, people had already known but he kept a small profile until this which made people, including the family of the deceased girl, feel insulted and uncomfortable over his use of rape in the film considering that past you speak of
Love you Nate😘💕
Wait what??? The woman was white?????? Oh hell nah, dude is innocent then if he got acquitted. I didn't know the girl was white.
I think ppl just get a kick out of watching black ppl explain their innocence.
accusation= conviction
so true .
2 men can talk about rape and it doesnt need to be "not the best look"
The bigger the accusation, the bigger the apology owed when proven wrong.
So late to the comments but why this info never came out when he made the other movies??
Steve Harvey really tried to
Help
Amen!
Righteousness. Go see the movie it is great.
I’ve been covering assault against women for 30 years since my introduction to the YWCA and Womens Suffurage had as a media mogul I continued by emphasizing sports athletes to remember that love shouldn’t hurt, but it does
How convenient these accusations come out right around his film is set to debut.......#whitesupremacy
White people bought and promoted the film...LMFAO
and?????
Jones206 : Right there!!!!
AIRG01
Exactly! That allege rape was 15 yrs ago and only NOW its coming out after he's been acting for the last 10 yrs! Timing is very suspect, They did it to put him in a negative light to deter blacks from supporting this film cause it was positive, constructive & showed us fighting back makin us feel good bout ourselves which they didn't want....this movie will give us ideas!....
What are they talking about? I'm lost. what happend to him and what about his movie?
Google
Kate Magnigoue they're talking about Nate Parker's past "alleged" rape case which he was found not guilty but the media along wit other sources brought it up almost 20 years later when his film Birth Of A Nation was being promoted.
here's a man accused and was vindicated.. why are y'all upset again
Because they want the Black Man not to be strong not powerful as that racist white man nor successful as that white man neither!
so what about the ones that lie cause it is a lot of those out there
I love him
I was a Victim of rape at 5 years old buy a 17 year old I told my parents but they didn't do anything about it and me as a victim know what it feels like to just be neglected and suffer with something my whole life and nobody did anything to help me so I would never falsely accuse someone for my rape because I wouldn't want them to suffer as much as I did. I don't think someone who has gone through rape would falsely accuse someone because what we want the most is for the real person to be stopped, so lady's using rape to trash someone else's life I heartless and disgusting.
Never by into there attempts to divide the Blaque man, and the Blaque woman
He did it tho.
He did it.
Thats all.
They ended on the best note! (And they ain't!)
He's been an actor for years. He's been in the spotlight. Yet, now this is brought up...
He wasn't even guilty...
The fuckery!
Parker was acquitted which means he is not guilty. I've read the details of this case, and this was a white woman accusing a black man, but according to the details it was completely consensual. This means he has nothing to do with the suicide also. I can agree this is a good time to use this also as a platform for sexual assault as an issue....nonconsensual sex is rampant although Parker wasn't guilty, but it is a problem. Parker has had several movies from that time to this, but the fact that this is now being talked about is proof that they want to crush the viewing of the film Birth of a Nation
It just shows we as black men must have the upmost respect for all of our black and brown women and never allow them to be in a position like this with their bodies even if they initiate it or want to. They are precious. No more precious than a man, but who else is going to emotionally love and protect our black and brown women? Never let our black women show us their bodies unless we talking marriage. Those decisions laying down before marriage hurts us emotionally and mentally and spiritually and those mistakes are passed on to our unborn children. Protect our black/brown women with honor, respect, and treating them like royalty and queens even if they don't want it, need it or respect what you are doing. I've been called "Too Nice" by many beautiful black women I've treated with decency and it never affected my pride or dignity or changed how i treated them. I simply asked each of them three questions: "Well how do you want a man to treat you?" "What kind of man do you want." "What kind of man have you seen or had?" Each of them could not answer the question.
What is "brown" for you? Zimmerman was half latino, therefore "brown", right?
You do know this was a white women
Nate is a beautiful blk man! 2 blk men sitting down talking about such a difficult topic. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👍🏾🤓
Sign a waiver before you have sex
His victim committed suicide......what say you?
🙏🏿
1.When Nate says, "Do they care about anyone involved?" Does he really want to ask "Do they care about me?" 2. Steve Harvey said, she "happened" to take her own life Can someone let Steve Harvey know that trauma stays with a person indefinitely. It's not like his poverty that he just got over... And then he pulls the race card.... Can someone tell Mr. Steve again, that its not only race, it's race AND/OR power. Case in point, Uncle Bill - Jello Pudding Pops (Who's Black and most of his alleged victims are White and that was back in the 60s and 70s) ... Did Nate's family have the money, connections or social standing to win him favor or buy the defense he needed. And then poor Nate - playing the victim.... When the real victim is dead... In other words the defense is when you're 19, no one knows any better.
Jay Are who the hell are you to say anything the Brother didn't play the race card this is your people's racist mentality not Ours the Brother appeared in Court on the rape allegations & was acquitted so STFU get a life and get over it all of y'all!
you did a phenomenal job brother, great movie
What those two men did to that woman they will burn and hell for what they did to her!
Jamie Foxx, is that you?
We damn near have to do a Eminem….. Meaning, go ahead and lay all of our troubles out, rather we was guilty or acquitted of, therefore when the the other rappers get the mic…. It would be harder for them to bring up something the people don't know about us!
How can God use his struggle to change a life time of accusations of insurmountable crimes. When some one like Nat Parker who is making a life for him self dealt with his situation By Faith....I like what he said because America is dying and we need a savior to help us through these situations......He is using his platform to raise awareness to women who have fell prey to cruel men....Amen for him.
guilty until proven otherwise
all i want to say is this brother look like Jamie foxxs nephew Kelly foxx
Kinda went off topic there...
As a man I can obviously empathize with the guys who are falsely accused....but reading the comments and from what I hear from other sources it seems like a lot of guys immediately take the side of the accused and will attack the woman no matter what.
Just because some women have completely fabricated a rape and falsely accused someone does not mean that you shouldn't take new accusations seriously. Go to the comment section of any article about a rape case and you will see a bunch of people saying the victim is lying. It doesn't matter what the evidence is, these people will harass the accusser and will never believe them.
You can voice your opinion and defend the falsely accused, but if that's all you do without ever considering the other side you have some serious problems.
(01:45) October 5, 2016. "....and then tie all that back you. It's not right. I find that to be just a bit unfair."
Meanwhile, Polanski is treated like a God in Hollyweird, back in 2016 a bunch of celebrities used to thank Harvey Weinstein and we all know how that ended up, this brother gets a trial and gets acquitted yet the media always bring his 1999 case up attempting to taking him down, not because of his case but because of the content of his movies, if he was making Amadea's movies he would be alright but he's making black conscious movies in Hollyweird therefore he's a target, I won't be surprised if one day this brother is found dead on 'strange circumstances', please if you're a black man/woman even if you ain't from the States show some support to this brother and other black filmmakers, musicians, authors, etc that makes quality black projects, let's make black great again! more Nate Parker and less Tyler Perry fam!
Polansky fled this country to avoid getting criminally charged you ding dong! You're not very smart up in the head are you
I know the discussion is focused between a man and a young woman but seriously why do two dudes have to apologize for talking about rape? I mean man rape isn't as uncommon as people think.
he look like Jamie foxx
He looks better in my opinion
I thought he looked like Jamie Foxx in "Birth of a Nation."☺
this is why im going to avois woman in college
White women.
Always bring a consent form. I'm not kidding. I always have one on me. If she's not singing it she ain't getting the dick
my opinion on this is we love In the eye where you can do something regardless of you are guilty or not years ago and still be talked about 30 yes later at the end of the day people got to understand nobody was there but whoever been in the room.so no one can say he did or not did it by the eyes of the law he didn't and that is fact so like I don't understand why people are still talking about it yes people cry rape all the time but like insaid we wasn't there so we can't say who lying an guess what we will never know the truth because it's her story his story and the truth so i think people jus need to let it go and let this man be
I agree with Steve. They cannot tie her killing herself to Nate. Sadly...she chose to do that. No one is talking about or accusing her family of not preventing her suicide by providing therapy or some other form of help. 13yrs? 13yrs.? After 13yrs and they still didn't address her mental issues.
I don’t know about this….
Read the deposition. This guy and his friends raped that woman. It has nothing to do with black and white. It’s about wrong and right. I’m black and based of the information I think he did it, got away with it and the young woman killed her self as a result of it. 3 young men in a room with a female passed out? Come now...
He never once said “I didn’t rape her” he skated and danced around the issue then has the nerve to try and bring light to the fact that women in this country are being sexually assaulted? That’s like someone with child pornography on their laptop trying to raise awareness about pedophiles moving across the street from a school. YOU are the enemy that women are fighting Nate Parker.
he not convincing me
No one's talking about it? Is he serious?
Nate is horrible at handling the situation, he should have said "i was found innocent in the court of law, and with regards to her suicide its sad to hear that someone took their own life" and throw the call for help pitch and be done
He's using the movie as a shield and that's stupid
the movie is the only reason he is there
+Wave Maker i know, but he makes it look like who gives a &$&& about the girl lets talk about my movie
Tas H if you were to make a movie and you had been falsely accused of something would you wanna talk about the accuser or the movie?
+Wave Maker you need to address the allegation and clear it up then jump in to the movie
I guess my question is, why did he choose the dude that was found guilty to write the screenplay? Also, He did have sex with the women, there is no question about that. She said she didnt give consent as she was incoherent. He only was acquitted because they have had sex in the past. To me it seems he rapped a girl that was basically blackout drunk and he assumed it was ok because she let him hit it in the past. In short, he had not consent making him a rapist.
Nate talked around steve's question tell what happened...
noticed that..but I find it amazing that they got off if they actually did do this
Except that "they" didn't get off. His friend was already convicted and would have gotten 4 years except the woman by that time didn't want to testify again because she was too depressed and battling PTSD after surviving several suicide attempts. So he walked.
I feel like he said a whole lot of nothing
S Joseph, if you feel like he said a whole lot of nothing then you are apart of the problem in America.
Nate you are the best! May God continue to bless you!
Rapists go free consistently whether the rape victim is white or not. Having the blind assumption that if you are a white victim you automatically get justice or peace of mind after an assault is wrong, blindsided and detrimental to the evolution of the rightful and fair consequences that should occur to anyone accused of rape, whatever race they happen to be. Now you can say that as a white man you ARE more likely to get off on a charge because, he is right, the justice system is flawed and incredibly prejudice when it comes to race. It is fair to voice that observation. Placing an emphasis on the victims skin color takes away from the trauma they have endured, which is just as terrorizing on the victim regardless of race. Men creating a divide between women by pitting them against each other and starting up a "white women have it better than other women" debate, only further separates and differentiates women of all ethnicities, in a time we need to be united for the greater good, and the most positive change. White women do in fact have it better off than women of other races, most women, white included, can recognize that. It is a part of our society, but the way up is not to tear those women down, but to work unanimously to build and elevate women of all races. We must remember what we are really fighting for. So while I can appreciate at least the effort to open this discussion up to men (because it is in fact important to get men involved ), you really need to pay attention and speak and listen in a way that actually hears and helps the cause. It is important to choose your words wisely, especially if you are speaking to a national audience.
Caitlin not in America
Caitlin not in America we can not dismiss race. Don’t you know the story of Emmet Till? any claim from a white woman against a black man is law. Nate is innocent
@@rogerclark5221 I said nothing about dismissing race, or implied guilt in any specific case. I realize there are cases of false rape (though not many) and I believe in due process for those accusations. Maybe you should re-read my comment. Plus the theory that issues like race or gender inequality are only applicable in America, or even for that matter, worse in America, is ignorant. America has its issues, but rape, femicide, misogyny, honor killings, etcetera are significantly more prominent in a multitude of other countries. As I stated above already, I agree that the justice system is corrupt and does in fact tend to favor white people (honestly most things do, as unfair as that is), but that was not what my comment was about. If you had taken the time to try to understand what I was saying, you might understand that it was more directed toward the lack of tact and accuracy in the delivery of Steve's comments about "white" victims. The fact is that women of all races face rape everyday and the repercussions of such, and almost all of them go unpunished and without justice. Men of all races rape, and women of all races get raped, just because you are white and get raped by a black man doesn't mean you automatically get justice for that action. It happens all the time, for men in general, regardless of race. I'm not saying anything about ignoring the racial divide, which is obvious, I'm simply saying that there are sexist issues that also need to be fixed. Any man commenting on rape (and yes I know men get raped too, but lets hold off on that for just the moment for arguments sake), any man needs to be careful about the wording of his opinion, because the fact of the matter is that men know nothing about living in the world as a woman and living as a survivor of rape as a woman. I just didn't love the wording of what he said. I'm not here to be all crazy or mad because I think its good that they are talking about it, but if awareness isn't brought to these kind of things, how will anyone ever really learn better?
All Things Nate Parker!
I'm with Nate!!!
I still support Nate parker
