2:14 hey!! mistakes are common with sewing machines! (I would know since i've made my fair share of mistakes while using one lol), you don't need to go get another piece of fabric if you mess up, you can use a seam ripper to remove the thread, then try again!
also, if you're wanting to get cheap fabric for practice with your sewing machine, i'd highly recommend seeing if a walmart nearby has a craft section, if it does you can probably find really cheap fat quarters! (it's like $1-2~ish for a good chunk of fabric where I live), I use fat quarters to practice patterns before I use the actual project fabric, they're these semi large cotton rectangles, very easy to sew with!
I used to be afraid of using my sewing machine too, but when i started getting a bit of practice it's made my life a whole lot easier :)
Hi, thank you for the advice! I'll look into investing into a seam ripper. I almost forgot Walmart has fabric, so yeah I'll definitely get some there. You're right, I gotta learn how to use my sewing machine already!!!
I've honestly been terrified to actually start working on my own partial because I don't want to make a super ugly failure or I'll feel too bad to ever try again. But seeing how nice it can turn out when you just research, follow tutorials, and take your time is really encouraging! You did such a good job! Love your sona design too
It’s okay, I was really scared to start mine too! I procrastinated so much it was ridiculous. It’s honestly best to just fail a lot really quickly.
Thank you! Good luck in making your fursuit, and that’s good you’ve started using your sewing machine :3
After i watched this vid i realize that even simple paws are not simple to make and the stress when you dont know if it will turn out good.BUT its your first time and you did so amazing!
I could never make this, so when you're critisizing yourself, I'm congratulating you.
Aww, thank you!
Turned out cool !!
You can ladder stitch the claws on top of the finished fingers!!
Who thinks we need a part 3 of making a tail
Don't worry, I'm working on it! >:3
Foot paws first actually and then the tail
@@Kasperanzaa oh! Ok I understand I bet it is gonna look great! I love it so far
2:10 the way you did those claws is so smart!!!! i need to try that with some minky and my free motion quilting foot
I just followed RunnerRabbit’s pattern so
Biker confirmed.....drip status....8/10
been doing heaps of research into making a partial and this helped give me some confidence because you pulled it off so well man!!! I was so excited to see it come to frutition and your character looks awesome!!!! super job!
Thanks so much! Making your own fursuit is definitely intimidating, so I'm glad it gave you some confidence! :3
Looking good! Fursuit paws are always a real butt to make I swear XD Also no one is ever comfy with a sewing machine at first, just takes some time (and a lot of seam ripping lol). For smaller parts like paw digits, hand sewing is honestly a better method to me :3 One thing I learned to live by making fursuits is that you can always fix what you do. Don't be afraid to mess up~
It turned out soooo good 😍 i like your choice of color for the fur
The paws are so cute!
Yeah I’ve seen that tutorial aswell, I can still confidently say that they look amazing
You can get a small, sharp pair of scissors to avoid cutting fur fibers. I personally use a small pair of scissors that I think came from a nail care set. I sometimes also use thread clippers (probably a crime to use those for cutting fabric, but it gets the job done). Whichever blade is on the fur side when cutting, I keep it close as I can to the backing to avoid cutting any fibers. I've also seen people use those small X-acto blades to cut fabric, which doesn't really work for me probably because mine are too dull.
And the worries about using a sewing machine is real 😂
Definitely do practice with spare fabrics. I've used one for fursuit making and it makes the sewing process so much quicker. I mostly use it for claws or parts that aren't too precise, though I mostly stick with hand sewing.
It can be risky using it to sew faux fur because it's so thick. I had a needle get bent once, luckily it didn't snap. Just go slow. I believe most sewing machines have a hand crank that I sometimes use to get around tight curves and corners.
Ooh, turning the paws inside out. It's probably easier to first turn the fingers inside out first and then turn out the rest of the paw.
These are excellent tips that I never thought of! Thank you, I'll definitely apply them to future projects!
I literally used this same pattern and tutorial for my handpaws! XD
Those turned out great, love the pop of orange!!
You can probably sew that one claw back together with a ladder stitch!!
It's a great tutorial! RunnerRabbit did a good job.
And thanks! Orange is my new favorite color.
Lol yes, I need to sew it back on again. Can't have it flopping around anymore.
I'm also making my first suit and I have the same tutorial saved for the paws haha xP I'm so glad I found your videos, it's super encouraging to know there's other people out there trying to overcome the same struggles haha. watching this while making the fabric pattern for the head >_
Well, it's a pretty good tutorial so
Thank you! I'm glad that showing my journey helps others on their journey :3
Looks amazing!!! Love the commentary, honestly made me chuckle a couple times!
Thank you very much!!

In my opinion, its hard to pull of that style, but you nailed it! Good job!
This was a awesome video, thanks for sharing! Also, the color scheme goes hard!
The moment I saw the paws the aliens tought that that’s a beautiful alien child
It's coming along very well! Can't wait to see what you do next!
Thank you very much! I'm excited for what's next too :3
I want to make my own suit (and be a maker) in the future as well. It will be a (long) while before I can start, but I am looking forward to that day!@@Kasperanzaa
I used the same patern to be honest
inspirational...
i need to buy tools, and find a e-shop to order materials so i too can make a fursuit.
but i have yet to start ;w; and i think its literly just fear of failiure making me give up before even starting :
Go for it! The worst that can happen is that you mess up, but you can just try again. That's the great thing about life is that for most things you can just try again.
Good job! Your first fursuit is coming together quite well. I am starting the process of making my first suit and I purchased a 3d printed head base because I had ZERO confidence in carving the foam to make a symmetrical head. Great work so far :) Neffertity and Skyehigh Studios have some great fursuit making tutorials for other parts as you continue to make your suit or experiment with more in the future :)
Thank you so much! And yeah Skyehigh and Nefertity are wonderful! Good luck in making your fursuit! Getting the head 3D printed surely makes it easier.
Don't worry I also bought a sewing machine, still haven't used it cause I'm scared I'll break it!
What stitch did you use for the paw pads? Can anybody tell me?
I used the backstitch, for the hand paws (including pads) and my head base. I was led to believe that it’s the strongest one, so I’ve only used that one so far.
@@Kasperanzaa thank you so much for telling me 😊😊
@@iwlle3646 you're welcome 😁
What's the name of your fursona?
Kasperanza
Makes sense lol@@Kasperanzaa
