These carry guns videos mean a lot more to us in NJ now! Hopefully we'll be getting our permits soon. 200,000 of us have applied already. Have to get a carry gun now. Thinking either the Shield or the 43x. Canik TP9 Elite SC is tempting too but looks a little bulky and I'm a slim guy. Decisions, decisions.

I like the LCP max. It’s so accurate, has great sights stock, so light for pocket carry, and is something you can literally have on you all the time that won’t print. I know people say “you don’t even know you have it on you,” with other micros, with the max that’s ACTUALLY true if you pocket carry. Even in shorts. 11 rounds of hot .380 with 250 ft lbs of energy or more! If you need more than that, odds are you’re in a situation where a defensive weapon won’t help you. It’s something you can ACTUALLY comfortably carry every day imho.

Hey dudes, I need some help!
I picked up the 2.0c when it dropped.
I love everything about this pistols and shooting it is a dream.
      Admittedly I rarely carry.
I am legally licensed in my state and have taken training classes with my 2.0.
I don't carry. It's frustrating because I feel very strongly about carrying and feel everyone should do it.
I tried having it on me in my home to normalize and desensitize my self to it but the second I go out I get huge anxiety and become paranoid. I'm afraid I'll print and get the cops on me, or it will get flashed if I'm going about my normal day. I addition, in our current cultural climate I feel my aforementioned reasons are amplified.
      Any tips?
I carry appendix when I do carry.
Ive tried the hip at 3 and liked the comfort but printed a ton.
Appendix sucks. It's mad uncomfortable. I think this is the major factor in me not carrying.
      I'm not a fat dude, a bit of a belly though. 5'11 220.
I dropped a bill on a ping-pong Tactical holster and a gun belt at my local gun shop under the impression this would make the difference. I've noticed a minor improvement in comfort.
It's frustrating because my actions don't match my convictions.
I know some will say, just do it and yeah I know... thanks cheif.
      Any advice?
I feel better when I have vest or flannel on but during warmer months this isn't a realistic approach and I feel to a degree could potentially compromise the concealment factor during warmer months.
Sorry for the rant but appreciate the advice and input.

I’m a retired LEO and I have a Diamondback DB9 that’s my favorite pocket pistol (always in a holster). I have qualified with it once a year for 7 years so far and some practice throughout the year and I have never had a malfunction with it. I qualify back to 25 yards and it is reasonably accurate for me and my senior eyesight. It is a pistol to get the job done and not a fun target puncher, the recoil is rather spirited.

Nice to see someone sing the praises of that little gun for a change. I've always liked the DB9, though I confess I wish Diamondback (or some enterprising third party) would put out an eight-shot magazine. The original 6-shot is so short it needs a pinkie extension...why not take up that same space with an extra round or two! Eight + 1 in such a tiny package would be sweet indeed...

    Hi there,
I carry a Ruger LCR 2" barrel in 22LR for these reasons:
    I always have it.
When clean, other than with faulty ammo it has never failed in around 12,000 rounds.
The numerous bad rounds have cleared with a single trigger pull.
I have had but 2 real jams with it and that was when it was filthy.
Being a 22, I can carry with what I practice with because 22 is way more affordable than any other round.
The LCR is not the best at anything but does well with several things which all added together indicate that for me, at least most of the time, the LCR is best for me.
    I much prefer rifles.

My edc is the taurus gx4 with the 13rd extended mags. I was blown away by how comfortable and reliable my gx4 is to shoot. It is just as controllable under recoil as any of my full size and comp guns. Seriously, if you're on the fence about the gx4, which I was for sure, just get it. I got the midnight bronze cerakote slide version from psa for 299 maybe 6 months to a year ago and haven't looked back. I do however cycle my p07 into my edc every once in a while, but for tshirt and shorts, nothing beats the concealability and comfort carrying the gx4

I am old fart. Grew up with and carried 1911s for decades. I converted some time back to striker fired tools. For me it was the G19. That is saying a lot for a guy who said he hated Glocks once upon a time! (yes, guilty as charged.) For my hand, it just felt right and I shoot it extremely well (that is me rated against me with all sorts of guns). When the G43 came out I got one. I like it too. Very small and limited ammo but again, it works for me. I was able to get two G19 police trade ins for a good price. I am updating them with better sights. I am OK with the stock triggers. I suppose I am used to them, and know them now. I live on a ranch. I carry the G19 every day. The illegals run through the place all the time. It is crazy down here in S. Tx. I take the G43 if I have to go to town.
Excellent video. Glad you mentioned a knife. Absolutely agree with your points you made. A friend made a 4.5" fixed blade knife for me. A saddle maker fashioned a horizontal sheath for it. It is both a working knife and a defensive tool. Has a clip point and is thick enough to ensure it will never break. It is about 20 yrs old now, but still good. If I am dressed, it is on the belt, period.
You said it quick but the most important statement was something to the effect that it felt right and fit your hand. Humans come in all sizes. Yes, if a gun feels right, fits right, you shoot it accurately, well yes, it is right for you, no matter what anyone else thinks. It is like finding the right boots. You will know it.

However I would ideally suggest an AR pistol platform in .300 blackout or 5.56MM/.223, or a full sized AR potentially. I clear with an AR 9 though as it takes glock mags if I had to switch to my glock. The other option would be a shotgun, depends on your house setup, neighbors, state and what experience you have with certain platforms.

      @zerox1893 Před 2 lety +1

@@marcusbrown188 I do like the 43x but I think the P365 is a bit better. It comes in at around the same price, but with the P365 you're getting night sights out of the box, a rail if you like that and the same capacity in a smaller gun with better concealability. For me personally the 43x also feels more snappy to shoot compared to the P365. Both are great guns though, it ultimately boils down to preference. 43x or the P356 XL is better for people with larger hands. If you haven't already I would recommend you go to a gun store and hold a 365 to see how it feels in your hand, if you have larger hands it may not feel very nice to hold. If the 365 feels good I think it would be a better choice between the two.

To be honest I know I'm going to get laughed at off the internet but my new favorite concealed carry is my Taurus TX-22! I do have three other handguns that are in 9 mm, 38 special and another 22 revolver. The 9 mm is a Springfield XD with a 16 round clip and I absolutely love the gun to death, it goes everywhere with me under my truck seat. But I carry my TX because it holds more rounds and with a spare clip I have almost 50 rounds at my disposal, now the main reason I carry it is because I can practice with it all day long and I am a dead eye with that gun! I can hit a freaking dime at 100 ft because I have practice so much with that firearm! I know that 22 long rifle isn't much of a self-defense round but without accurate I am with that gun I figure it's better to put all those rounds right on target then have a 9 mm and Miss 75% of the shots I take. I also load my Taurus with the best ammunition I can find in the 22 genre. The other great part about it is, it's probably one of the lightest pistols I own and with a few upgrades it feels like a $600 firearm. I just don't have the money from being a working class citizen to practice all the time with 9 mm now that it's almost $30 for 50 rounds. I do however have a stockpile of ammunition for my guns so if the need ever arises I can practice real fast on real targets. But for the time being I feel completely safe with my Taurus, because with the current ammunition I use I have never had a FTF, a stovepipe or even a dud round (except for some old 22 ammunition that has been laying around for almost 15 years). Which even then there were only about five duds out of about 700 rounds which is very impressive for old bulk ammo! So I guess you can make fun of me all you want but I like to be very accurate with my firearm instead of going with the crowd and getting whatever's in style for self-defense. Also like you I always carry a Buck 119 on my belt as a backup. So I figure that my Taurus can buy me enough time to get back to my truck and retrieve my XD 9 mm with four spare magazines and three boxes of 50 rounds. Not to mention that I have about a thousand rounds of 22 in my truck at all times! It's like my grampy always told me, "a gun is absolutely no good if you don't practice with it, you may as well throw it at the perpetrator and hope for the best"😂 after you empty it on them of course

    My 3 pistol carry rotation
    S&W Shield Plus
    Sig P365X
    Glock 43X
I enjoy all three. All comes down to training. I like to be comfortable with different pistols vs sticking to just one.
A few notes from my experience before "shootability":
    - Feel/grip
    - Controls
    - Draw confidence
    *I carry appendix
    - I tried the standard P365, grip handle was a little too short for comfort on my draw, giving me an inconsistent grip when presenting. Training, repetition and muscle memory can help this. I just felt more comfortable with the X model grip size. Still very concealable. Control are very nice and easy to operate. The magwell for faster reloads was the best out of the three on this list.
    *12+1 mags
    - I carried the gen 1 Shield for years and love it. The Shield Plus feels good and familiar. The wider palm swell feels better in my hand. Controls are in a great location and pressure sensitivity is just right.
    *13+1 mags
    - The Glock 43X feels solid in the hand with the best full-hand grip (most with bigger hands will notice that right away). The mag release was the most difficult to operate. The plastic on plastic was very stiff and I had to change my grip position the most for mag changes. I ended up swapping it out for the Shield Arms gen 2 S15 mags and metal mag release, and additing the wider magwell. Gun feels completely different now. Easier reloads and mag release. I haven't seen any less reliability vs the stock mags (yet), testing ongoing. The metal on metal mags and mag release is much easier to operate now.
    *Factory 10+1 mags
    SA Gen 2 S15 15+1 mags
    Accessories I like:
    - I like ambidextrous holsters because they don't have high sweat guards. Higher sweat guards get in the way when I draw appendix. My thumb knuckle hits on some kydex holsters, not allowing me to get the best grip when drawing, which delays a good presentation of the pistol. I just lean on the side of consistency.
    - Keeping all stock triggers
    - Flashlight:
    Streamlight TLR-7 SUB
    - Optic:
I'm also waiting on the Holosun 507k version of the ACSS Vulcan optic to release. (Currently only for the 507C model). Team said it's high on their priority list. Think the "dot finder" circle is a great idea for smaller optics.

The Hellcat Pro and P365XL (with the 12 round flush mag) are almost virtually the same size as the G43X, which is a subcompact, not a micro compact. The Hellcat Pro is 4.8” tall with a flush 15 round mag. The 365 XL is as tall as the Hellcat Pro when the P365XL has its 12 round flush mag inserted (4.8”). But the P365XL is as tall or very nearly as tall as a G19 (5.02”) when the 365XL has the extended 15 round mag inserted. So height wise the 365XL has to leave the subcompact field and almost becomes a “subcompact X” to get the same capacity as the Hellcat Pro.

I will argue the best conceal carry gun is unarguably Glock 43 or 26 with 43 being ahead. Not 43x because if you look at length dimensions the 43x is comparable in size to Glock 19 except it’s a lot thinner by width. 43 gives you 6+1 and with good rounds that handgun is tiny, with good ammo you’re good to go. and if you want more ammo then the Glock 26. Those 2 and the Shield best conceal carry guns. Unarguable, most people don’t want large big handle guns that you prefer, which is why the shield is so popular.

I actually like my Glock 48, I shoot very good with it and it's very similar to my duty G19, just thinner for my wife hands but short fingers. I think I will purchase the G43x because I love that platform. Keep up good work.

As low income seniors, primarily subscribing to home defense issues and overall conceal carry comfort, we are still in tune to our G3C's from Taurus. 12 + 1 capacity is plenty and highly reliable and accurate. Would really love to be able to upgrade to a CZ name product, just don't see being able to. Plus a simple Stevens 320 model 12 guage, rounds out our firearm home defenses. Regardless of our interests and needs, we remain loyal followers to your reviews and pointed honesty. We deeply relate to the plight of the homeless, primarily on the family levels and had dedicated our last 20 years of our married lives to volunteer managing of homeless facilities and their clients. So keep up the great work and always know we care about and love your work and send our prayers and God's blessings to you and yours in all you do.

I walk out of my house with my favorite CZP 10c it's just fits my hand so perfect and it's so reliable and I also love the stock magazines. 10 + 1.
