Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge - Testing Floating Discs

- Floating Discs are one of the few flying units in the game. They are available only to Yuri at a price of 1750. They are quite expensive but they have some good uses.
Floating Discs like any other flying unit are vulnerable to Anti-Air attacks. However, although they are not even close to a Kirov's survivability they still can survive some heavy attacks. They can attack while moving dealing a decent amount of damage to all types.
The Floating Discs have a unique ability when ordered to attack specific structures. They can steal a good mount of resources out of a Refinery but most importantly they can shut down the power of an enemy when ordered to attack a structure that provides power. This can be a huge game changer. Lastly, as weird as it sounds, a player can not win a game just with floating discs because floating discs will never damage a structure from which they can drain resources or power.

I've recently been replaying Yuri's Revenge and I've found that the floating discs, along with being a good lead attacker to shut down all base defenses and allow a secondary attack force to run wild, is they also serve as an amazing anti-air defense against kirovs, since the kirovs cannot fight back and they won't have to worry about other units attacking them unless there's anti-air in the area.
Just something fun to note ;D
My tactic when using yuri is to build 30 floating discs and obliterate all attackers and if my boomer submarines cannot attack the enemy. Then I send in all of my floating discs and trample the enemy.

And it has a power sabotage effect if u bring this ufo thing above the power plants
permanently reduce your opponents power to zero. granted you can keep the disc alive. and then siphon all their money and they can't sell the buildings being affected.

@@digitaldeathsquid3448 well its not like you can use them to surprise your opponent though. If you make floating discs you can except a heavy anti air response quickly and swiftly from anyone at least as smart as spirit science, which isn't saying much.
Please tell me that it can steal random cows as well

@Brendan Hinderliter gunboats seem to be so weak imo. Good for naval scouting but not much else.
Mental Omega is great though there's so much content in that mod.

2:57 Yuri's faction may be otherwise OP, but his anti-structure units are so much weaker than Soviet or Allied options. Magnetrons barely do any more DPS than Rhinos or Teslas. Here, even though Discs are a bit better, even the elite was slower than the basic Apoc and Prism. Discs are strong units for other reasons though, like shutting down any structure they want.
