Nice sounding engine, driven a couple for work on long journeys and they are refined and comfortable. Had a 2016 plate Cooper S which was superb but not the best in winter, I got a Subaru Outback after that.
It had a lot of torque when I test drove it. It surprised me. But I got a S eventually which is too fast most the time but perfect when you need it. Both are perfect for normal driving, you'll accelerate faster than most cars on the road with the 3 and definitely on the 4 cycl.
It was wett, I couldn’t use launch control. But it is faster then. Too high RPM doesn’t help, because for the B38 engines, the maximum power is available up to 6000rpm. Above that, the available torque torque decreases immediately.
Awesome. That 3cyl is impressive.
I have the same engine in 2 seseries it's OK but if you drive in town you won't get more then 25mpg but on motorway it's 46mpg

@@TrampChannel I’ve owned plenty of BMWs and minis with sound augmentation. The sound in that specific video is just the standard triple sound.
I don’t know why but newer versions of the 1.5 mini got slower, maybe more weight. Still amazing on 3cyl

My father has the same but it’s 2019 and it goes down to 5.6 in the city

I got right about 8 seconds. Maybe if you had some rpm going you should’ve gotten around 7ish

It aint a DCT transmission. Its a torque converter gearbox
they changed to dct in 2017

It is a nice sounding engine and drives nice, merging onto a highway is not a strong suit. I blame the transmission.
