Prime Rondo is definitely one of the most underrated players of his time, maybe even all time. Amazing basketball IQ, great defender, top notch facilitator and he’s basically a second coach on the floor. I hope as more time passes, people put more respect on Rondo’s name.
Make laugh repeating everything you’ve heard talking heads say over the years. But respect he was a good player but a long way from being the best of the best
It was said in the video , even at his best he was maybe the third best player on almost all of his years in the league. He tried and failed to be the #1 player on just teams and was not able to make it work . In his prime he was a top point guard in the league but maybe only like 5 seasons and then fell off a bit as the game changed as well. He was a high Q.I player but he also was to smart for his own good at times as well. I really am a fan of Rondo though.
“We” forget about Rondo because 80% of NBA fans don’t understand basketball. They use scoring a lot of points per game as the only parameter that determines a great player regardless of position. Rajon Rondo is one of the best and smartest point guards to ever play in the NBA
As an unbiased Celtic fan, Rondo was easily one of my favorite point guards from the time he was drafted to he left in like 2014. Aside from his consistency and high IQ playmaking, his playoff peak was easily an all-time great PG, WITHOUT a jumper. I loved his sneaky inside hand layup, i keep that in my bag because of him. 😂
I tried to pattern my game after him. One of the 5 greatest passers I’ve personally ever seen. Prime Rondo basically started the trend with young Russ in getting triple doubles consistently. He’s one of the smartest players to ever play the game and his toughness is understated. He finished a game with against the Heatles with a fractured elbow. Put the old Big 3 Celtics on his back at time and took over games. Rondo is a top 20 PG all time
That hustle play he did against the Magics in the 2010 playoffs where he dove on the floor grab the ball between a players legs, got up and made a layup.
My favorite player as a kid! Seeing him ball out as a young buck in the 2008 playoffs and eventually becoming the face of the c’s as the vets aged was such a journey! Rondo was always a dog!
Rondo my favourite player of all time. If he had the shooting he developed after he left Boston (in Dallas, SAC, Chiago, LA he shot decent from 3) can you imagine how good he'd have been
@@TannerGoated of course Curry is better. Curry is a all time great first ballot hog game changing one of a kind player. Rondo was just really really good. @@TannerGoatedthis is just funny you know nothing about basketball. Obviously no one is putting him ahead of curry. Hell Curry is in the talks of possibly being in the top 15 or top 10 in the history of basketball. But Rondo is indeed underrated go do some homework
Rajon Rondo is the most underrated point guards of his generation. He helped the Celtics win a championship title with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. I wonder why the NBA hasn’t sign him with a team right now. He was a flashy guard with his points and assists.
I never have and never will. That 08' squad would not have won a title without him. He ran that show on both ends. And imo that 08' squad will go down as a top 10 all-time team. If not higher. I will never forget that season and the love I have for that entire squad and it wouldn't have been the same without Rajon. If he had a slightly better jumper and more range he'd be talked about as an all-time great pg.
I started watching the C’s in the AntWalker-Pierce era….. That ‘08 squad was a case of more than the sum of their parts. But if you’re gonna argue they are one of the better finals teams ever, would you make the same argument about the early 00s Pistons? Those squads are about getting the most out of each player and the roster. Neither truly had unprecedented raw talent on a hitherto unseen level.
If you love the game, then you know what rondo has done to impact the game despite not putting up numbers in the points column. I was always amazed how rondo’s simple passes just seemed to elevate the receiver’s shooting. Rondo knew your spots and knew how you like getting the ball in the pocket. If rondo gave you the ball, 9/10 you have a solid look. Thank you for your contributions to the game #9.
lol i get your a mavs fan but that’s crazy hater mentality it’s not like he just quit cause he a bad dude. look at the 2020 bubble maybe it was the mavs that were the problem

I’m a Sixers fan all my life, and if you know anything about hated rivalries, Sixers vs Celtics is an all time high. Even as a Sixers fan, Rondo always got busy, and a huge fan of his intellect on court. Flowers are due, thank you for creating this video, well done!
Rondo was a POINT GUARD. All a point guard needs scoring wise is a reliable midrange and a layup package, rondo had the essentials on offense (scoring wise) then he had ELITE passing and facilitating. He’s everything you ever would want from a point guard, personally, id want him over someone like Ja or Steph
I remembered how people only said that he was averaging those numbers and won a championship only bc he had KG, Allen and Pierce. I agree on the championship take, but not on the numbers. He might be the last old school PG with CP3 that performing a high level of basket ball without a proper shooting. He's an all-time underrated PG that average in couple of years Triple doubles performance on regular with ridiculous amount of rebounds and assist. As KG said, he was a man of his own with lot of going on in his head. High basket ball IQ but behaviour problems, ego and injuries got him on the fall after he leaved the Celtics. Jerry, it was the manner in which he did things consistently throughout his career. And the undeniable stats he collected by playing in that manner without having a jump shot for most of his time. And he defended.

As a fan of the game and his game, I'll never that Chicago series when they dominated the first two games of the 1st round and he got hurt. If he dont get hurt they was about to make a run, because he was effortlessly breaking down that defense. Pass or bucket 💯
Any player that gets at it on both ends of the court always has my vote, and Rondo has always fit that bill of consistency!
