IDK man i think the whole rings argument is kind of weak imo. Like unless you're discussing true goats like MJ kareem and LBJ who have the ability to will their teams to win unwinnable games most of winning a ring is out of your control, you only control how well you play not how well your teammates/bench play or how well your coach does or any of the other hundred things that you need to win a ring. CP3 and rondo both aint on that level that ppl like Shaq MJ Bron Magic kareem Kobe and all those guy are at, so its unfair to use rings to compare them. Just evaluate the player individually and make the cut there, you can use individual playoff statistics as a method of comparison but comparing individuals using a team trophy always seemed kind of sus to me.

One thing that you didn't mention is that aside from the Mavs tenure, Rondo has always been team-first guy on and off the floor. Always organizing team dinners, helping any teammate with anything they needed, helping rookies and G-League (D-League then) find places to stay, leading them in practice. He always took the side of his teammates and protected them from coaches, scrutinies, media and so on. Rondo always elevated his teams by empowering his teammates while CP3 elevated his teams by him being good and scoring. He used his teammates while Rondo put them in position to be better.
I’m willing to bet Rondo might make a good coach or GM after his playing career is done..

I think a champion could care less about the accolades. That's what you play for, a ring. You don't play 82 games for conference player of the week (just an example). The only jealous thing I think rondo could have would be not being an Olympic champion. Other than that nothing, just two competitive players who don't like each other.

If y'all still trashing CP for not having a ring then dont forget that NBA prevented him twice from winning one. First was when David Stern rejected a trade of Chris Paul to the Lakers who won that season, and the second being the poor officiating in last year's playoffs. I played with Rondo summer leagues during highschool. He was a really great teammate. I couldn't ask more of him when we played. He was a quiet assassin and was actually very level headed. I always loved getting on a fast break with him when he picked off the opponent's pg. He was very quiet and humble at all times. Rondo always took care of his teammates. I never played with CP3 so I can't speak for him.

If you combine this beef with the Rondo vs. Ray Allen beef, and it seems clear to me that Rondo thought he was underappreciated. He had a ring and figured that made him one of the best PGs, but everyone is saying that Chris Paul is the best PG and that Rondo is a product of the team. He thought he was just as good as the rest of the championship Celtics and started to lash out at Ray.
