I've had the Valentine since 2020 or so. It seriously is one of the most versatile guitars I've ever played. That telepickup is a thing of beauty.

Thanks again for watching my videos! And yeah, this guitar is super versatile for sure, and it plays great so its hard to put down. The Stingray is no slouch though either. You still enjoying yours?

@@SethSilvaMusic Oh yes definitely. Music Man tends to be the new normal that I compare all other guitars with now. That said, I just bought a FGN Masterfield and holy shit it's really good. FGN really knows how to make great guitars, just japanese excellence. 🙂

I need to check out FGN. I don’t really hear about them all that often, but anytime I do, people are usually saying very positive things. Seems like a very underrated brand.

@@SethSilvaMusic Definitely. FGN makes all the high end ibanez prestige guitars so their own guitars are killer.

Hey dude! Fellow Valentine owner here - just wondering how you care for the fretboard and neck? I've had mine for 2 years now and I only really wipe the frets with a lightly damp cloth when restringing and wipe it down after a sweaty gig. Are you doing anything different? (I've heard about the EB wonder wipes)

Wonder Wipes or something like Music Nomad F-One oil are the way to go for cleaning in my opinion, but i’d have a dry t shirt or cloth handy to wipe up the excess oil pretty much immediately. Maple won’t really absorb much so you’d just be using the oil/wipes to clean it without causing it to dry out. Hope that helps.

@@SethSilvaMusic awesome thanks mate! Grabbed some wonder wipes (fretboard conditioner) this morning.
So with these wonder wipes, is it an every 3 months job? Or every string change job? These guitars are bullet proof and probably don’t need that much doing to them - but it’s so nice I want to keep it in good condition.
(Also, I think ours might be from the same year or manufacture! But mine was from Andertons)

@jameshughes6305 From my understanding, which could be wrong mind you, maple doesn’t really require much actual “conditioning” since the grain is so tight. Plus, this is roasted maple, so there’s inherently less moisture in the neck. I’d say just use the wipes to clean the board whenever it gets too dirty. My rosewood and ebony boards get conditioned at least once a year, but that can vary depending on how dry your climate is.
