  • Hey there, lovely people! The adventure persists! 🚀 So, guess what? I've taken my apartment search to the vibrant Boogie Down Bronx! 🌆 Recently, I checked out two awesome apartments in different corners of this borough. It's been quite the journey, starting from places slightly above my budget and gradually finding gems that fit right within my sweet spot.
    🏡 My budget? Well, it's dancing around $2,000 for a cozy spot outside NYC, and nudging slightly up to $2,200 if it's inside the city. crossing all my fingers and toes
    Got any burning questions about the places I scoped out? Shoot me a DM over at @madameprez on IG, and I'll spill all the details! Can't wait to share this journey with you all! ✨

    It’s expensive because 1 one it’s next door to Manhattan like literally in most areas you live minutes away and 2 two, because of gentrification and yes that’s a real thing. 3 Three, most areas are extremely quiet at night. I loved living in the Bronx during my childhood in the 90’s loved it although it was bittersweet but I loved it.

      Agreed! Gentrification is taking the Bronx at an unprecedented speed. The South Bronx is becoming unrecognizable!

    I made the mistake of taking an apt right next to a school playground and it was TORTURE. Like you said, recess was awful. There was nowhere in the apt where I could get away from the racket before class, recess and then when school let out.

      Yes! And that was my biggest worry. Some of my friends made it seem like it wouldn’t be too bad but knowing how little noise I wanted, I could foresee that it was going to be awful during recess. You help me validate this!

      Streeteasy, Trulia, Rent Hop, Facebook Marketplace and oddly enough some on Craigslist

      @SocraticChats do you know If the apartments you're looking at require you to make 40x the rent?

      @@natureloves9440 yes, most of them do! Income is one of the very first questions that they ask

    How is the Bronx though is it comfortable or scary?

    • @SocraticChats
      @SocraticChats  Před 13 dny +1

      The Bronx is not too bad. It really depends where in the Bronx you live but I spent a majority of my life in the Bronx and I’m here lol

      But it is comfortable though, not too expensive but it can get loud 😩

      It really depends on what part of the Bronx your referring to because it’s really split between Italians, Latinos and people of color
